Chapter 169: Plans In Motion

We all ended up being severely disappointed that Dekon himself wasn’t there at the meeting this time. His assistant, or right-hand guy, Trevor, was the speaker. He had not only drunk the Kool-Aid, but he had obviously been bathing in the shit. He couldn’t say enough good shit about Dekon, most of which we all knew was bullshit anyway.

Apparently they are planning a huge shindig, and that is where their divine leader will be making an appearance and talking about his visions and his divine mission. I almost threw up hearing that.

Trevor did talk about the idea that Dekon had access to something that was going to help create the ultimate army, and they would then take over the Earth, and supernatural creatures who follow him would become the new god race or something. That did make me wonder what big reveal that he was planning on bringing in?

It actually made me leery in that he might be planning some way to get his hands on me again, and I was so fucking done with all of this bullshit. He just needed to fucking die already. I heard my parts inside agreeing wholeheartedly with that.

There had actually been close to a hundred people in attendance at the meeting. Sean was busy cataloging them all, and we were going to be researching whether they were members of his merry men or if they had just shown up for the meeting and weren’t really participating in anything. We had tried to follow a couple of the presenters, but they hadn’t gone anywhere where Dekon was, so it wasn’t useful.

Sean did manage to find a new source of funding he had started receiving, and he traced it back to a scientific foundation. The more he investigated, the more it seemed to be a very suspicious and hoaky foundation. It seemed the leader or founder of it was very much in line with Dekon in thinking that we should be the dominant species, as we were all superior and shit, and we should turn the humans into our slaves, type of thing. He is working on finding a way to get it shut down.

My dad has been busy making phone calls and talking to people about the Ilonian situation, as well as the hybrid situation. He’s trying to put out feelers about what kind of place they want to build for hybrids. I told him I thought a pack of their own was the way to go. He said he agreed, but he thought he should give people a voice.

Nicole and I have been busy making friends with all of the new guys. Nicole has had problems with morning sickness, and they went to Dr. Mitchell, and she said everything is good. I had tried to say she was going to have more than one like me, and she said no way in hell. She proved to be correct in that she is only expecting one.

My hands are full with my babies, and I am having more and more trouble moving around as I get bigger. It is hard to pick up my babies sometimes as my stomach is somewhat in the way. I am glad I have a lot of help, now and after the new babies arrive.

Caleb is enamored with Samaria and Selenia, and they are spending quite a bit of time here with me and the babies. It helps Nicole to not feel she has to be here helping me when she is feeling sick, so I’m thankful.

They keep hinting that I am unaware of all that I can do. Apparently our quiet and shy girl, Heidi, has a special ability in being able to gauge the power level of others. This is good with hybrids and non-hybrids. So, she keeps telling me I am the strongest thing she has ever encountered, but I’m honestly not totally sure what that means.

My dad has set up a meeting where we are going to be talking about what happened with the Ilonians when they refused to let me go and all of what my mother had told me. He had arranged for a member of every species council member to attend. There were some who were not able to come or willing, so they will be sent information for them to have. We are hoping this will help do what I promised them, expose them, and show what they did with murder and kidnapping. I am not sure if anything will come of it other than putting them out in the spotlight.

The nursery for the twins is now finally ready, and my picture trees have all been filled up. I find myself being very sentimental about the pictures of me and Maximus. I can tell just by looking at those that he was an incredible father, and though I am glad to have him in my life now, and definitely in my children’s lives, I still mourn for all of the time we were robbed of. There’s nothing I can do about that, so I try to let it go and concentrate on the good stuff.

I’ve been having some contractions off and on, but nothing consistent. Dr. Mitchell thinks it’s just Braxton Hicks contractions, but I find Allen and Armond watching me like I’m a bomb that is about to explode. I just have to smile and shake my head. Nicole and I have a bet about whether they will pass out or get sick with all of it.

The twins have continued to have a very definite opinion about their fathers caressing my belly. They keep using their shields to keep Armond or Allen from being able to remove their hand when they start rubbing my belly and interacting with the babies. So, this is shaping up to be a very interesting thing. I do wonder how this will translate when they are out of the womb. I guess time will tell.

I look up when I hear the front door and see both of my mates enter, making a beeline to me where I’m sitting on the sectional, “Hey baby, we wanted to come and let you know that we’ve gotten information about the big meeting with Dekon being set up, so now we have a date, and we’re going to find out what he is up to, and possibly be able to grab him.”

I smiled big. “Oh god, I hope so. I am so ready for this shit to be done.”
