Chapter 32: Tiffany's missing locket

Meanwhile, across town, Tiffany arrived at her apartment, exhausted from a long day of snooping and spying. She had been to several places trying to get as much information on the guys as possible. Tiffany had not had much luck. She walked inside, dropped her bag on the floor, and headed straight for the bathroom to wash the day from her body.

As she entered her bedroom, she noticed that something was off. The room seemed... different. She looked around, trying to pinpoint what was bothering her. That's when she saw it: her locket was gone.

Panic set in as she frantically searched every corner of the room. She checked her dresser drawers, her closet, and even under her bed. It was nowhere to be found. Tiffany felt a sense of unease creeping over her. She knew that no one had access to her apartment other than her landlord and she didn’t seem like the type of person to break in while she wasn’t home. Who could have taken it?

As she stood there, trying to make sense of things, Tiffany heard a faint humming noise coming from outside her window. It was a familiar sound – it was the same sound she heard coming from her body when she was using her powers. Tiffany's heart racing, she rushed to the window and pulled back the curtains, but no one was there. She stood in confusion of what was happening, until suddenly her world went black.

Tiffany was having a vision. She stood in the middle of her small apartment living room, frozen in place, staring like a deer caught in headlights. What she saw was nothing she had ever expected. Lilly was standing outside, her eyes fixed intently on Tiffany's apartment. Tiffany felt a surge of anger and fear. Why was Lilly here? Did she know about the locket’s powers? Had she and the boys figured something out?

Without hesitation, Tiffany grabbed a nearby vase and shattered it on the floor. The loud noise echoed through the room, hoping to distract Lilly and give herself time to think. She quickly scanned the room for any other objects she could use as a weapon or a distraction. As she moved around the room, she noticed that the walls seemed to be... rippling. The air around her appeared to be distorting, as if reality itself was bending to accommodate some unseen force.

Tiffany's mind raced as she tried to comprehend what was happening. She stood in the middle of the room not able to move. Was Lilly using her powers on Tiffany? And why? Tiffany had no power without her locket and no way to defeat Lilly. Tiffany's eyes narrowed as she watched Lilly and Ethan from the shadows. She knew they had taken the locket, and she was determined to get it back. But it wasn't just the locket she wanted. She wanted Lilly's powers. She wanted to be the one with the ability to control the threads of fate.

Tiffany fell to the floor in a slump, drained from the energy the vision had taken from her. That wasn’t the first time she had something like that happen to her.

When she turned eighteen, she had her first vision. One minute, she was in her bedroom at her aunt’s house sitting at her desk working on a project for English class, then the next minute she was lying on the floor of her darkened bedroom, the moon casting an eerie glow through the window. As she sat up, she rubbed her temples, trying to shake off the lingering dizziness.

But then, a strange sensation began to build in the pit of her stomach. It was like a gentle buzzing, growing louder and more intense with each passing moment. Tiffany's eyes widened as she realized what was happening – she was having a vision.

The room around her began to blur and distort, like ripples on a pond. Colors swirled and merged, taking on shapes and forms that seemed to move of their own accord. Tiffany's vision was filled with flashes of images, each one more vivid and real than the last.

She saw herself standing in a clearing, surrounded by dark trees that seemed to loom over her like sentinels. In the distance, she saw a figure – a man she didn’t know, his eyes black as coal, his face twisted in a cruel smile.

Tiffany's heart raced as she watched herself approach him, her hands reaching out as if in greeting. But the man didn't move, his gaze fixed on her with an unnerving intensity.

The vision shifted, and Tiffany found herself standing in a dark alleyway. A young girl she had never met before was beside her, her eyes closed as if in meditation. But Tiffany could sense a power emanating from the girl – a power that seemed to be growing stronger by the second.

Suddenly, the visions stopped. Tiffany gasped for breath, her mind reeling from the intensity of what she had seen. She stared at her hands, half-expecting to see them glowing with an otherworldly energy.

What did it mean? Was this a glimpse of her own future? Or was it some sort of warning from the locket? By this time, she had already found her mother’s locket. She wore it every day as a memory of her mother, but little did she know there was a dark power that was hidden inside.

Tiffany's eyes narrowed as she tried to piece together the fragments of her vision. She knew one thing for certain – she would do whatever it took to ensure that fate didn't unfold as she had seen it. Now, as she looked back to that vision from years ago, she knew exactly what it had meant. The dark magic was warning her about Lilly, and the guys.

A few days later, Tiffany seethed with anger as she gazed at the empty space where her locket once sat. She had been planning her revenge against Jason and his brothers for months, ever since he stole her family heirloom. But now, she had a new target: Lilly.

Tiffany's eyes narrowed as she recalled the way her vision showed Lilly with her newfound powers controlling Tiffany. The way she thought she was so special, so powerful. Tiffany's locket may have been taken, but she still had her own powers, and she was determined to use them to get what she wanted. Tiffany had learned a few tricks of using black magic without the locket over the past few years. She wanted to be ready if her locket was ever taken from her. Tiffany wouldn’t be able to control people, but these powers would work nonetheless.

She made a few discreet inquiries, gathering information about Lilly's daily routine and habits. It wasn't hard to find out that Lilly spent most of her free time with Ethan and his brothers. Tiffany smiled to herself as a plan began to form.

That night, under the cover of darkness, Tiffany snuck inside the house. She had once again figured out the security system along herself to go inside unknown to anyone. Tiffany quietly climbed the stairs to find the master bedroom where Lilly and all three guys lay arm in arm. With a flick of her wrist, Tiffany sent a faint echo of Lilly's thoughts into Ethan's mind, making him think his girlfriend was in danger.

Ethan jumped up from his deep sleep scrambling to find Lilly, only to find her fast asleep. Tiffany was already gone, leaving behind a small gift: a note with a subtle warning. "You can't keep what's mine forever."

Lilly woke up to find the note on her bedside table. She felt a shiver run down her spine as she read the words. She knew exactly who was behind it – Tiffany.

Aiden woke beside her, sensing something was off, “Everything okay, Lilly.” All she could do was turn around and hand him the note, not being able to speak a word.

As he read it his eyes suddenly went wide, and he shook Jason and Ethan awake.

“What bro? We were sleeping.” Ethan said as he swatted Aiden away and laid back down. Jason saw the concern in Lilly and Aiden’s faces, so he sat up grabbing the piece of paper that Aiden held out to him.

“How in the hell did she get back in here?” Jason scowled.

That woke Ethan up as he shot up from his slumber, “What? Tiffany was in the house again?”

“I have a feeling she is going to stop at nothing to get her locket back, and apparently she still has some powers without it.” Aiden said hugging Lilly tight.

Jason scooted closer to her wrapping his arms around her waist and nuzzling in her ear, “I promise we will always keep you safe.”

Ethan and Aiden kept an eye on Lilly while they were at school. They always knew exactly where she would be and at what time. Sarah even stepped in to help some as well.

“No one is going to hurt my friend.” Sarah said, pulling Lilly in for a side hug as they walked down the hallway at school. Lilly smiled back at her friend thanking her.

They tried to help Lilly figure out what was going on, but they couldn't shake off the feeling that they were being watched. Lilly began to feel like she was losing her grip on reality.

As the days went by, tensions escalated between the two groups. Ethan and his brothers were determined to stop Tiffany, while Lilly struggled to control her own powers and keep her relationships from imploding.

Tiffany smiled to herself as she watched from the shadows, knowing that her plan was working perfectly. She would get what she wanted – and soon enough, everyone would know that she was the one in control.
