Chapter 19
The people in the T.V lied. They were all liars. They promised it would work, that it was the only way to get a man to like me. Rosalia threw clothes into her bag as she fumed with anger. She wondered what Sean thought of her now, as some cheap girl that threw herself at men? She screamed into the throw pillow she held and jumped around in anger.
“Are you alright?”
Rosalia screamed startled when she turned and saw Sean casually leaning by the door. She kept the pillow back on the bed and adjusted her dress.
“I’m fine” She said and coughed a little.
Sean nodded “We’ll be going now” He held out his hand for her. She contemplated for a while before walking over to him and putting her hand in his outstretched one. Hand in hand they walked to the elevator and straight to the car.
Rosalia held Sean’s hand tightly as they walked towards the private jet. She was scared of flying which was why she was grateful that she had been unconscious when they had flown here.
Now? She had to face her fears and hope that Sean does not notice. Well…he did notice. The constant tapping of her feet and finger on the hand rest was enough to give her nervousness away.
“Come here” Sean told her. She did not need to be told twice, she stood up on shaky legs and made her way to where Sean sat reading a magazine. She was about to sit down on the seat close to his when he drew her to him by the waist making her sit on him.
“You don’t have to” She said.
“I want to” Sean said and tugged a stray hair behind her ear. Rosalia laid her head on his shoulder as he strapped them in for the takeoff. She clung tightly to him when the jet began to ascend, tightly shutting her eyes afraid of what she would see.
“Baby?” Sean called to her. She shook her head as tears began to form in her eyes, her anxiety turning into a full-blown panic attack.
“Look at me” He turned her face to him and caressed her cheek making her feel safe enough to open her eyes. Just as the jet shook Sean’s lips covered hers.
The fireworks in her stomach shook her to the core more than the rough takeoff ever could. She felt Sean’s strong fingers dip into her hair, setting it loose and making it cascade down her back. She didn’t know what she was doing but she hoped she was kissing back properly.
There went her first kiss. With a man she liked and was trying to seduce by taking advice from those on T.V. She felt him pull her closer, closing the already nonexistent space between them.
His hand moved from her hair and cupped her ass making her moan into his mouth. He kissed until she was breathless and weak, unable to hold herself up. Sean broke the kiss smiling at her.
“Still scared?” He asked her, putting her hair back in place. Rosalia did not answer him. She was still in a daze, an after effect of the kiss. She touched her lips, unable to believe that she just kissed someone. Never in her life did she think it was possible, she was grateful she took the decision to leave home.
“Keep smiling like that and we’ll be doing more than just kissing” Sean said, making Rosalia blush even more.
Neither of them said nothing after that. Rosalia smiling to herself and wondering what it would be like to really be with a man like Sean. In a few minutes she was asleep in the arms of the most formidable businessman ever.
The jet landed without many difficulties to Rosalia’s dismay. She had hoping for another kiss from Sean. Together they drove back to his house. Rosalia stood in the middle of the big house unsure of where she was to stay now.
Sean raised a brow when he walked in and saw her just standing at the foot of the stairs. “Why are you standing there?”
Rosalia looked down at her sandal clad feet. “I don’t know which room to keep my things” She said, still looking down.
“You can have your own room if you want” Sean said, although he was not keen to the idea.
Rosalia looked up at him through her eyelashes “I’ll rather stay with you” She said. The idea of being away from him rattled her. She had grown so fond of him sleeping next to her, he was like her security blanket.
Sean took her hand and led her up the stairs to his room unable to express what her words made him feel. Wanted. Like someone finally valued his presence. Wanted him to be there.
“Keep your things in here with mine” He told her as she set her bag down. “Come down later when you’re done settling in, we have to get you ready for work tomorrow. That okay with you?”
Rosalia bopped her head in excitement “Of course, this is exactly what I hoped for and many more. Thank you” She hugged him, Sean only wrapping his arms around her smaller frame tighter.
“Your clothes for work are already in the wardrobe, you can rearrange them if it’s not the way you want them to be” Sean said, trying hard to contain the fact that he was excited as her resuming tomorrow.
“I’ll do just that” With that Rosalia bounded up the stairs and into Sean’s room. She was happy Sean let her stay in the same room as him despite there been a lot of rooms in his house. It meant that he wanted her close too, at least she hoped that was what it was.
Just like Sean had said there were work clothes already there for her. Dresses, suits, all designers, everything she’d ever imagined. How would she ever repay him?
She set the bag she was holding at the bottom of the big closet before changing out of her clothes and into shorts and a tank top. She was about leaving when someone caught her eye.
It was the drive Sean had thrown away earlier. She looked around to make sure Sean wasn’t in then room before removing it and slipping it in between the space in the wardrobe that nobody would look in. she wasn’t sure how Sean would react if he found out that she had the flash drive, it was best to keep it away from him for now.
She put her bag in front of it so no one searching would ever know where it was. She didn’t know why but she had the strong urge to keep the drive hidden away.
Sean was on a call when she went downstairs to talk about work details with him. She sat down on the couch and waited for him to finish.
“I got you something” He told her when he was done. He gave her a black box that was tied with ribbons.
“You didn’t have to” She said as she took it from him.
Sean just laughed “Just open it.”
It was the most beautiful journal she had ever seen. She looked at him with tear filled eyes “Thank you. This is very thoughtful of you.”
Sean opened him arms and she hugged him. “I know how you feel about forgetting things, you can always write them down here, so you don’t” He said, and rubbed her head. “Open it.”
When she did, she saw Sean written in bold letters with an empty space she guessed was where her name was supposed to be. “Your name?” She asked him.
“Yes, the other space is for yours.”
“But I don’t remember it.”
“Why don’t you give yourself a new name then? See it as part of the new life you’re trying to establish for yourself.”
“I don’t have any name in mind” She told him.
“Rosalia” he said.
“What?”
“The name I want to give you. Rosalia… A perfect name for a perfect girl.”
