Chapter 163

I giggled as I straightened up to avoid falling, feeling my knees weaken the longer I looked at the attractive man before me. "Hey, I think I just saved your life," he said in a low, husky voice that sent shivers down my spine and made my thighs tingle. I couldn't believe I had just encountered someone as charming as him. What are the odds? I just cursed the moon goddess half an hour ago because of how shitty my love life is, and now I just miraculously run into such an amazing man.

Are you going to say something, sweetheart?" he asked, clearing his throat and shoving his hand into his sweater, looking slightly offended by my silence. Does he know that I am intoxicated by his scent and looks? I could already imagine how cute our babies would be.

"I'm sorry, I just didn't expect what happened, so it took me by surprise. I didn't even see you coming; where did you come from?" I asked, looking around in confusion about how we had collided. His lips curved into a sexy smile, revealing the sharp tips of his white front teeth. I couldn't help but wonder why his teeth were so sharp. "This is my car, I was also rushing inside as I saw that you were too." He said as he lazily pointed behind him to a Mercedes Benz car, I looked at the car and had to hold myself not to look too shocked.

I quickly glanced at him and his car, subtly avoiding any obvious comparison, because it seemed like this guy was loaded. I took in his appearance, he looked like he just come from the gym because he had the whole gym attire and his black hair looked like he just come out of the shower as he consistently combed it with his fingers and wiped his hands on his sweater. "Okay, nice car," I said as we both lowly laughed heartwarmingly. I'm such a keeper, I meet the love of my life, and a minute later I am already making him laugh. I'm sure he wants to keep me forever; I want to be kept forever by him.

"Anyway they closed now," He said as he gestured to the now-closed store, I inwardly groaned irritated that I now had to eat out alone. "I think it's because you spent a minute staring at me without saying anything," I blushed because he was telling the truth by why is he saying it out loud? "I wasn't staring at you, I was in shock mode," I said defensively embarrassed that he noticed me out of breath. "It's okay, you don't have to feel embarrassed about anything, I won't judge you." He said brushing my shoulder jokely, the electric feeling that came with his hand touching my shoulder was unexplainable.

It was just a light touch, but it ignited an electric shock that coursed through my body, leaving me momentarily breathless. The sensation was like the first strike of lightning during a summer storm—sudden, powerful, and awe-inspiring. I could feel every nerve ending awaken beneath his fingertips as if he had pressed a button that sent exhilarating waves of warmth radiating from my shoulder to the tips of my fingers and down to my toes.

In that fleeting moment, the noise of the world around us faded away; the bustling street, the distant hum of cars, and even the chatter from the café nearby dissolved into a comforting hush. All I could focus on was him standing close enough that I could catch the faintest hint of his cologne mingling with the cool evening air. The touch was electric, but it was also strangely tender like a whisper shared between two souls destined to meet.

My heart raced, each beat echoing in my ears as I savored the intimacy of that connection. It was as if the universe had conspired to draw us together in a moment that felt timeless. My cheeks flushed with warmth as butterflies danced in my stomach, overwhelmed by the mixture of excitement and vulnerability.

“Did you feel that?” I found myself whispering, my voice barely above a breath, half-embarrassed by my sudden boldness. He met my gaze with a knowing smile, the kind that promised secrets yet to be unraveled, and I could see the spark reflected in his eyes—the same thrill vibrating between us.

He nodded, fingertips lingering just a moment longer before they withdrew, leaving me yearning for more. In that brief encounter, I understood the magic of connection, the kind that sparked in an instant and ignited something profound deep within me. It was a promise of possibilities, of shared laughter, and of love waiting to blossom. I tried my best to silence the voice in my head that kept telling me that my life just changed forever, thank the moon goddess I ran out of groceries. "We can go it out at this great restaurant I know, just a block from here, I also don't want to eat alone," he said looking at me with his blue shining orbs, I smiled in excitement, he just confirmed that he is single.

As soon as we stepped into the restaurant, a cozy spot bathed in soft, warm light, I felt a rush of excitement wash over me. The intimate atmosphere enveloped us, and it felt as if we were cocooned away from the rest of the world. I glanced to the side and caught him watching me, a hint of amusement dancing in his blue eyes, and my heart fluttered like a trapped butterfly.

He led us to a small corner table, and I slid into my seat, trying to maintain my composure. The way he moved, confident and easy, only added to the growing allure that surrounded him. “So, tell me everything,” he said, leaning forward, his elbows resting on the table. “What’s your story?”

I bit my lip, momentarily caught off guard. “My story? It’s pretty boring. Just the usual… work, home, rinse, repeat.” I shrugged, feeling a little self-conscious. But he leaned in even closer, his expression inviting me to share more.

“I doubt that,” he replied, that charming smile still lighting up his face. “Everyone has something that makes them unique. What do you love doing when you’re not stuck in the monotony of life?”

My stomach fluttered at the way he seemed genuinely interested in me. “Well, I love cooking,” I found myself saying, the words tumbling out before I could second-guess them. “It’s like art for me—I get to blend different flavors and create something beautiful. I also like to read, which probably sounds a bit cliché,” I added with a sheepish laugh, might as well add cooking to my hobbies.

He nodded as if every word I said was music to his ears. “Not cliché at all. Cooking is an amazing skill to have, and reading opens up whole new worlds. What’s your favorite book?”

As we delved into our favorite novels, the conversation flowed effortlessly, punctuated by laughter and shared stories. He told me about his passion for hiking and how he loved exploring new trails, his eyes lighting up with excitement as he described a recent adventure. “There’s something about being surrounded by nature that makes you feel alive, don’t you think?” he said, his voice dropping to a more serious tone. I nodded, captivated not just by his words but by the depth of emotion behind them. “Absolutely. It’s like a reminder that there’s so much out there beyond our daily lives.”

The connection between us felt electric as if every moment amplified the intensity of our encounter. I caught him stealing glances at me, and each time our eyes met, a rush of warmth raced through my veins. It was impossible to ignore the chemistry sparking between us—something undeniable, a magnetic pull that made my heart race like I had just run a mile.

After a while, our food arrived—a delightful spread that smelled divine, but I barely noticed it. Instead, I was entranced by the way he talked, and the way his laughter seemed to resonate with mine. “So, what do you do for fun?” I asked, leaning in, wanting to know more about the man who had so effortlessly turned my evening around.

“I’m a graphic designer,” he replied, glancing down briefly. “I love creating things that tell a story visually. Sometimes I feel like I’m telling the world about the things I can’t say with words.” His honesty touched me. It drew me in closer, and I realized I was hanging on his every word, wanting to know everything about him.

Suddenly, he paused, his gaze steady and searching, “And what about love? What does it mean to you?” That was fast, this is the first thing that he has said this evening that makes me feel uncomfortable. His question hung in the air, weighty and profound. I swallowed hard, my heart pounding in my chest. “I think love is about connection,” I said softly, feeling vulnerable under his intense gaze. “It’s finding that spark with someone, like we’ve found tonight. It’s feeling at home with another person.”

A spark of something indescribable passed between us, a moment where time felt suspended. He leaned closer, his voice a hushed whisper filled with sincerity. “I think you’re right. It’s about those moments that take your breath away—the kind that changes everything.” My breath caught in my throat, the intensity of his words mixing with the electricity that crackled in the air around us. I could see it in his eyes—the promise of something extraordinary waiting to unfold. The thought sent a delicious thrill through me, as my heart raced at the possibilities this night held.

In that moment, as we sat across from each other in the light of candles flickering softly, I realized that this stranger, who had swept into my life so unexpectedly, was beginning to feel like something more—like a new chapter waiting to be written.
