Chapter 27

Depressed

Eve POV

This guy is such an asshole, getting on my nerves all the time. For goodness sake, he's supposed to be mad at me for what happened, he's supposed to be angry, for what I did, even if it was never intentional, how come he's here to help me? Something keeps telling me that there's more to this help, but I just couldn't bring myself to making a sense out of the whole thing.

Hopping in his car angrily, I banged the door behind me, expecting him to talk, so I can leave his car, but the idiot just chuckled, and damn, I'm irritated by that horrible voice of his. He's sure going to hear it from me, he'll regret this.

All through the drive, I was looking out of the window, fuming in anger. This wasn't how I planned my day, I wanted to have some time with Marian, but all thanks to Jayden, my plan is all ruined, and now I have to go home and drown in boredom.

After what seemed like forever, Marian finally got to the junction, where I usually drop her off, and as usual, she dropped off, leaving me all alone with the devil, and I just couldn't help getting nervous, as too many odd things came rushing through my mind. The thought of him, kidnapping or raping me, makes me cringe, but I tried as much as not to let my fear get the best of me. At least, I should be able to fight for myself, right?

The ten minutes drive from the junction to our neighborhood, was like forever to me, I just couldn't help praying effortlessly, that we get home, so I can finally rest.

After what seemed like forever, we finally got to he front of our house, and he pulled over, before stepping out of the car. Ok what the heck is he trying to do now, huh? I mean, I'm the one going home, so why is he getting off his car?

After getting rid of my seatbelt, I picked my bag, and stepped out of the car, before heading to the gate, not saying a word to him, but before I know what's happening, I felt a hand on my wrist, and the next thing, my back slammed against something, which turned out to be his car.

"What are...." My words were cut in my mouth, as his lips slammed on mine, kissing me like his life depended on it, while pinning my hand against his car. What the heck! Did he just... no! It must be a joke.

I batted my lashes, trying to recover from the shock. Jolting back to reality, I pushed him away, and landed a slap across his face, while breathing heavily, anger spreading through me. The heck! What does he think he's doing, huh? Is he losing his mind?

"Wow! I didn't see that coming. That was sweet anyways, haven't tasted such sweet lips in a while now, hoping to get more of that." He licked his bottom lip, while looking at me, with his hand on his cheek.

Huffing angrily, I turned and headed to the gate, before walking into the compound. Stepping into the compound, I locked the gate behind me, before I sauntered to the entrance door.

My heart keep racing fast, as the thought of Jayden, filled every inch of me, and I just couldn't help despising him the more. What guts does he have to do that? How dare he do that shit with me?

After inputing the pass code, the door unlocked, and I pushed it opened, before walking in. Stepping into the living room, I headed straight to the staircase, and started climbing it angrily, and a familiar voice came on, bringing me to an abrupt halt.

"Eve?" Came the familiar feminine voice, and I stopped walking, as the voice rang in my head. I know this voice, I can always recognize it, even in my sleep, wait! How could I have forgotten about this? I had totally forgotten that they were said to be coming around today. Gosh! This is bad, can my day get any better? If only I had known, I wouldn't have bothered coming home, I would've just stayed back at Marian's house.

Letting out a brief sigh, I closed my eyes briefly, before turning to see her, standing, with her hand on the rail of the staircase, while staring up at me.

"Oh! You're here? Didn't know about that. Good evening." I greeted politely, trying not to sound rude.

"You got back late today, is everything alright?" She asked, looking at me, with all concern on her face, but too bad that the expression doesn't move me an inch. She's acting like she cares, when she doesn't even give a damn about me, I hate this pretense, I know they don't like me, I know they don't care, but pretending that they do, is what hurts me the more.

"Yeah." I replied simply, and started climbing the stairs again, when her voice came on.

"I made your favorite, will you come have dinner after having your bath?" She asked, and I scoffed, as I stopped walking. Wow! She's trying to be a good mother now, did she ever cared to know how I'm faring here? Did she ever cared to know what I eat on daily basis? And here she is, telling me that she made my favorite, that's crazy and funny, I didn't see that coming.

"I am not hungry." I said plainly, and started climbing the stairs, but stopped, as something crossed my mind, and I glanced at her.

"And one more thing, that stopped being my favorite, since you left me. If you'll please excuse me." I said, and with that, I climbed the stairs, and straight to my room.

Stepping into my room, I let my weight down the bed, and buried my face in my palms, as everything came conflicting on my mind. The thought of Jayden, the thought of my parents, and everything, is just so damn much on me, I feel like I'm losing my mind, I feel like I'm going crazy. Why does this have to happen to me? Why me of all people?

The sound of the knock on my door jolted me out of my deep thoughts, and letting out a deep sigh, I stood up and walked over to the door, before opening it, but anger surged through me at who I behold....
