Chapter 15: Hero

*Ella*

It was ten at night when I woke up from a nightmare about my first foster home. I had this dream many times over the years, but this time, it felt worse; it felt like it was happening to me again. My first foster father was a monster; he drank from sunrise to sunset almost daily. Then, finally, I heard my door open, and I saw Alex; as soon as he held me, I burst into tears.

"Kultaseni, I got you; it's okay," he hugged me tightly, " I am here."

" I didn't mean to wake you; I'm sorry, Alex." I was trying to hold back the rest of my tears.

"It's okay, Kultaseni; I will lay with you until you feel better." So we lay together in my bed until I finally went back to sleep.

When I woke up, it was six o'clock, and I was to work oddly enough; I wanted to look plain even though seeing me at the office would considerably cheer Nik up.

I got out of bed and ran to my closet; I found a black pencil skirt and a white business shirt. I couldn't find my black stockings, but I found my tan ones and black heels; I went to the bathroom and showered quickly. Then, I heard my door open; I forgot Alex was in my room.

"Kultaseni, where are you?" he sounded concerned.

" In the bathroom; I have to get dressed for work." So I grabbed a towel to cover myself, ran to my room, and dressed.

When I left the room, I was putting my hair into a high ponytail; well, I was trying to.

I ended up leaving my hair down, " Alex, could you give me a ride to work,"

" Sure, Kultaseni." he walked from the kitchen, holding a cup of coffee, and handed it to me. I took a sip; it tasted heavenly, almost like French vanilla.

Alex walked me to his car and opened the passenger door for me; yesterday, I was afraid of him, and now he is driving me to work. Isn't that insane?

We arrived at the office, and Alex got out of the just to open my door. I grabbed all of my work supplies out of the car. Then, I ran to my desk because I got to work before Nik once. He is always at work around eight in the morning, but I got up and got to work at seven just to surprise him.

*Nikolas*

I noticed a familiar face at my assistant's desk when I exited the elevator. Seeing her face, I smiled so hard; I walked over to see her.

"Surprise, sir." I smiled, thinking, surprise indeed. Seeing her back in the office brought a joy that I never knew had left. After our date and she texted me, I wanted to kiss her properly. I want her to know that I care for her.

After staring at her for a few minutes, I headed to my office and checked my schedule for the day. I had many meetings, many of which required Ella to be there, but I would have her come to all the meetings today just so I could stare at her all day. I have missed her at work; even though she will stay with me for a few days, I will see her every day. Most people would find that insane, but I don't.

My Nukke, she is the most beautiful woman to ever exist. I noticed she was talking to someone at her desk; she was either making an appointment or checking if they had one. I saw her beautiful smile suddenly drop; I knew then that something was wrong. A knock came on my door, " Come in," it was Luci, and she looked angry but mostly awful.

"Nikolas, why is she here!" she was pointing at Ella; I sighed and rubbed my head.

" She works here; you, on the other hand, are not allowed in my presence or company ever again," I said as I pressed the button for security.

The moment security walked in all the color in her face drained and she fainted, "Vie hänet sairaalaan." ( Take her to the hospital.) They nodded and took her off, I am not worried about Luci but it was scary that she just fainted like that. It seems like she has something up her sleeve, she has always been like that throughout the years.

Ella came into my office after the commotion and handed me a stack of papers; at the top were all the notes from the meetings I sent her while she was working from home. I checked all of her notes, and she has excellent notes. She is one of the best assistants that I have ever had; I fell for her even more.

I noticed Alex brought her to work because he sent me a picture of her in his car after I got to work. The picture showed her staring out the window with her long hair down. She looked like an angel; I saved the picture and put my phone away.

Ella called about my meeting I had in twenty minutes; the lady always made sure that I was early to a meeting. I grabbed my papers for the meeting and headed to the conference room; Ella had already set it up for the meeting.

This meeting was about the latest issues with one of the companies that I plan on buying. Apparently, it has an incompetent CEO.

When the meeting started every so often I would take a glance at Ella, she looked so beautiful sitting there typing on her laptop taking notes on the meeting for me to go over later. I noticed Ella would take a glance at me when the meeting was almost over her last glance lingered for a bit until the men left the meeting.

She stood up and walked over to me, she kissed my lips softly but when I kissed back the kiss grew intense. It felt like had been waiting for this kiss to happen since the meeting started.

I want to be her hero, more than anything I want to be her savior.
