Chapter 7

She yelled at me loudly:

"Bella! I didn't expect you to be so disgusting, always trying to be a mistress, right?"

"Don't think I don't know you're trying to seduce my husband! You even showed up at our wedding, but unfortunately for you, Jasper only has eyes for me. And now you're here at the company?"

"How shameless can you be? Just a few days ago, you were cozying up to Mr. Williams. No wonder he agreed to your proposal immediately!"

Jack came over to add fuel to the fire: "Couldn't handle your internship and decided to seduce our sister Kino's husband instead?"

What a mess.

Jasper hurried over to apologize, afraid his wealthy wife from the Hamlin family would leave him. He pointed at me and spouted nonsense: "Honey, you're the only one in my heart. She was the one seducing me. She even tried to get close to me a few days ago, but I clearly rejected her!"

Afraid of Laura's anger, he made up lies to twist the truth, showing just how shameless he could be.

My colleagues looked at me with disdain, as if they all believed I was the mistress.

Jasper pretended to be a righteous man and distanced himself from me: "It doesn't matter how much you cling to me, I only love my wife."

"No matter how much you try to seduce me, I'll never like you."

What a joke. How did I ever fall for such a man?

"Are you shameless? If you're going to be Laura's lapdog, then stop haunting me. A proper ex should be as good as dead."

I looked at Laura: "Keep your dog on a leash! Otherwise, make sure it doesn't bite people randomly!"

Laura glared at me with contempt: "Who knows if you're regretting it now that Jasper got promoted and are trying to win him back?"

"You can treat trash as treasure, but I won't." I sneered in disgust.

Laura was so angry she was about to slap me.

Just then, Kenneth appeared out of nowhere and grabbed Laura.

"She's not wrong. Why get so worked up?"

"And besides, I think you two are a perfect match."

"One piece of trash and one trash can."

I looked at him, and he smiled at me.

"I'm dealing with my personal matters. What are you doing here?" Laura stomped her foot in anger.

"I can't interfere with your matters, but this concerns my girlfriend. Of course, I have to care." Kenneth held my hand in his palm.

Girlfriend? When did I become his girlfriend?

He must be helping me out of this situation.

I linked arms with Kenneth and said nonchalantly: "My boyfriend is so outstanding-handsome and capable-why would I cling to a cheating man who married into his wife's family?"

"Exactly. Since when did a frog in disguise become worth fighting over?" He mused.

I almost choked; his words were sharp.

Jasper's face darkened.

I took the opportunity to play the recording from earlier.

"Even though I'm sorry for what happened between us, I had my reasons. Do you really need to find another man just to spite me?"

"This time I'll let it go. Women can throw tantrums occasionally, but don't push it too far. And it's not like I said I don't love you anymore. You can't act like this in the future."

He had the nerve to say it; I felt embarrassed just listening.

Laura's face turned darker by the second, and then she slapped Jasper hard.

Jasper couldn't defend himself.

"What did you tell me back then? Scumbag!" Laura hit him so hard that his face swelled up, but he didn't dare fight back.
