Reveal
Leo's POV
I smiled to myself, as my mind drifted to my occurrence with Allison last night.
From how she had refused to accept the food from me to how her stomach had groaned, in my support, which made her red with embarrassment.
How one could be the sexiest woman on earth and still be so adorable was beyond me.
Fuck, I loved her so much that it scared and intrigued me at times.
I couldn't believe that the Leo from five years ago would fall for Allison.
The Leo who had viewed Allison as nothing but a pretty face with an even prettier behind, now saw her as his reason for existing.
The Leo who used to be the world's greatest scumbag and playboy now had Allison living rent-free in his head.
As my thoughts further lingered to Allison, my phone vibrated with an incoming call, yanking me out of my blissful trance.
One glance at the caller ID made my lips twitch with a smile; Liam was calling.
Swiping onto the answer the button, I pressed the phone to my ear. "Hey, man."
"What's up? So you're still alive, I thought you died since you decided not to call me after ending the call two weeks ago." Liam started off strong with an accusation.
I huffed. "Stop being so dramatic, Liam. It probably skipped my mind. What's up with you and Linda by the way? How's she doing?"
"She's alright," Liam replied. "Her art exhibition is coming up soon. It should probably happen by September or October. Depends. Anyway, you know you have to be present on that day, right?"
"Of course, I know that."
"Good," He replied. "Anyway, so what's up with you and Allison? Any luck with your whole reconciliation?"
"In a way, yes but realistically no."
"Explain."
I then proceeded to narrate how I had given her a sandwich which she had initially refused before I handed it to her, after her stomach rumbled with hunger.
God, I could still remember how pleasant she had smelled–like dahlias and roses on a fresh orchard, and how soft her porcelain skin had been.
Those thoughts sent a wild current through me, and I quickly shrugged it off before my perversion kicked in.
"So she technically didn't accept the sandwich. What if she threw it away after you left?" Liam uttered, after a while and I scoffed.
"Are you forbidden to be happy for me? Why are you such a hater?" I snarled.
"I'm not hating here, man. It's called being realistic and not delusional," Liam retorted hotly. "Have you forgotten what you did to her so fast? Why would she accept food from you given your history?"
"As much as it hurts me to say this, you're right." I muttered. "What do I do, Liam? I really love her and want to win her heart again. But I just don't know what to do."
"What did your underlings tell you regarding her love life? Does she have anyone like that? That's the first thing you should consider, because if she does, then you'll have to stop here." Liam responded, and only then did I remember that I had seen her with a man at the charity gala which I attended last week.
According to my findings, the man eventually turned out to be the host of the charity gala.
Now that I thought of it, I couldn't help but wonder how they had both known each other.
Especially how they had both stood so close and intimate that day.
Perchance, that guy couldn't possibly be Aiden's dad, right?
No, that was impossible. Hell, it had to be impossible because how could he not be in his child's life?
How could he have abandoned an adorable, little genius like Aiden?
"Leo, are you there?" Liam's voice interrupted my thoughts.
"Yes."
"So, is she married?"
"No."
"Dating?"
"No, I think."
"You're not even sure of it. You are really unbelievable, man," Liam scoffed. "Anyway, I have to go now. I'm making pasta and Linda will have my head if they turn out soggy."
"Alright. My regards to her."
"Okay, man. Take care and good luck with Allison." He said, and hung up before I could respond.
"Thanks, man." I said to the silent phone before placing it on the table.
Picking up my pen, I began to inscribe my signature on the papers on my desk.
I was almost halfway through when a knock came on the door.
"Who's there?" I inquired, setting down my pen.
"It's Dylan, sir." Came the response from behind the door.
"Come in."
Dylan walked in, clutching an iPad. "Good day, sir. I've gotten some information on Miss Allison Wallace."
I immediately shifted the unsigned documents aside and motioned him close. "So, what did you find?"
"Miss Wallace moved to Canada five years ago after losing her mum to cancer and her house to a strange fire." He divulged, to which I gasped.
"Her mum is dead?"
"Yes, sir."
Although I never got to meet the woman, I couldn't help but feel bad for her as Allison used to tell me about her sometimes.
How she looked more emaciated and paler than she did before, and how she was scared of something bad happening to her.
However, like the asshole I was, I truly never cared about her fears, and was only interested in fucking her and tending to my sexual needs.
I couldn't help but wonder how devastating losing her mum and home must have felt for Allison.
"Is that all?"
Gazing at the iPad, he shook his head in negation. "No, sir. Miss Wallace also has a five year old son but her partner remains unknown."
"Is that so?"
"Yes, sir. And that's all I've managed to find at the moment."
"That's good. But I want you to find out one more thing. She was at Trinity hospital last week wednesday. Find out why." I ordered, and Flynn nodded.
"Alright, sir."
"You may leave." I said, before getting back to the folders of unsigned documents.
