Life of being the VIP wife

Margaret POV

I never thought that a rich business tycoon Evo Montero would become my husband. I only met him outside the grocery store and offered me help until he suddenly got interested in me.

While thinking about it, I am still feeling nostalgic about our first encounter. The smile on my face stayed while reminiscing.

I just got off from the bathtub and slowly wrapped my body with a towel when I heard my phone ringing. I put my phone in the drawer near our bed so I ambled and grabbed it. I check and it's my daughter Harley giving me an early call.

I pressed the answer button and waited for her to talk.

" Mom, how are you? Aren't you busy today?", my daughter asked me with her lively voice.

I was a bit confused why she suddenly called me so early in the morning.

" Why, sweetie? Do you want me to visit you? Do you miss me?", I replied and she immediately shouted in happiness.

" Yes, Mommy. I have something to tell you but can you come alone?", Harley told me which made me feel weird.

I know that she's still adjusting to her life as the stepdaughter of Mr. Vip who was my husband Evo Montero. I can't blame her because she didn't grow up having a father figure so it's hard for her to accept that she got a father now and he's a billionaire businessman.

I thought living inside the big mansion, having a famous husband and much money would make me happy and contented but I was wrong. I had no idea that this kind of living would soon be turned into hell.

" Okay, I'll go alone your stepdad is always busy with meetings in his business.  I don't want to bother him." I said but after saying that, my daughter turned in silence.

"Sweetie, are you still there?", I said on the other line.

"Sure, Mom. I'll hang up now. See you in a bit, bye!", She said and she hung up our call after.

After Harley's call, I died my hair, dressed up, and put on a little make-up on my face. I'm so excited to see my daughter again. She's alone for a month now so I guess she has made many friends in her new school.

I was on my way to the main door and saw one of his bodyguards.

" Where are you going ma'am? Sir Evo told us to tell him if you went out so he knows your appointment", he said and I smiled at him before answering his questions.

" Tell my husband that I will go on shopping. He's the one who told me to go out and do what I want. Any more questions?", I replied and he just shook his head.

I felt relieved when he didn't add any words and let me leave.

I was in the parking space when he followed me and offered me to be my driver.  Glenn was very stubborn He worked for my husband the day we married but he's very loyal to his boss.

I turned around and told him that I would be driving myself because I knew how to drive since I enrolled in a driving lesson without telling my husband.

"It's okay Glenn. I can handle myself. Just do your job here, okay?", I said with my sweet smile.

" Okay, ma'am. I'm sorry," he replied and finally left me alone.

It was already ten in the morning when I left the mansion. I came to my daughter's campus at exactly noon and I could feel my belly's sounds craving for food. It indicates that I'm already hungry.

I parked my car outside the gate of her dorm and stastarted calling her.

"Sweetie, I'm here now. I'm sorry for making you wait." I said on the other line while getting out of the car until I saw her standing in front of me.

"Mom, I missed you!", she said and jumped to hug me.

It's the first time that me and my daughter separated for so long from me in my whole life.

"I missed you too, my little angel. Look at you, you're grown up now! Come on, let's have lunch first. My---", my stomach growls and we both stastartughing about it.

Twenty minutes later...

Margaret and her daughter Harley went to their favorite restaurant near Makati Central named " Kamayan Restaurant".

The mother and daughter both giggle while talking about what they missed being together.

The smile on Harley's lips and the sparks in her eyes were irreplaceable. She was like a littlwhohhavevenen missed her mom for not going home early from work. Margaret doesn't want to finish this day because being with her daughter madmakesr feel happy and free unlike when she was inside the mansion. Being with her daughter alone was like a remedy for her loneliness.

" Mom, do you remember when we only went to the canteen and ordered only rice and then asked for free soup and mixed it with our rice? I never forget it." Harley told her mom and Margaret nodded her head.

"Yes, sweetie. You know I never thought thcouldcan eat at too many expensive restaurantswantedwe want!", Her mom added and both of them laulaughedain until everything turned out quiet.

Harley and Margaret's faces turned serious this time. They must talk out what's in their head.

Harley wanted to tell her mom about her stepfather's surprise visit to her alone. Here finds it creepy because he was a man and the fact that he left his mom in Cebu at that time. She's the one who asked her mom to get back to Manila so she can get to see her anytime she wants.

"Am I going to tell her or not?", that's what she said to her head.

"Harley, do you want to say something to me about your stepdad?", Margaret asked her while her thfarewellederelled with doubts.

She got back from her sanity when she heard her mom's voice.

"Mom, hmmm, ahhh, about Mr. Evo? Nothing. Hmmm, I just want to ask you if he's treating you well?", she decided to keep it from her mom.

Margaret thought her daughter was still aga st to stepfather but she was. She felt relieved that she was checking ithehthemeask her a hard time. She chuckled after her daughter asked that kind of question.

" Of course, he's 100% husband material and a good partner in life! He even gave me a master card for me to buy what I wanted!", I said but I noticed that my daughter was not happy about it.

"Aren't you glad that he's taking care of me?", Margaret said until Harley shook her head.

" No, it's good to hear it. If he does bad things to you, just tell him, okay? I will be his enemy if he will try to hit you!", Harley said while making an action with her hands like she was boxing her stepdad.

Her mom laughed at her daughter's behavior. She wanted to say something about her true life with her husband but she decided to leave it a secret too.

While the mother and daughter are both holding on with their secrets, Evo got a call from his bodyguard Glenn.

" Sir, madam go out alone. I was surprised that she knows how to drive too. She told me that she will go on shopping", that's what he reported to his boss.

Evo who was busy with his new hotel with his business partner Mr. Yakamura only told him that he was the one who pushed her wife to go out.

" It's okay. Just tell me if she gets home safe." He simply said and cut the line.

" Yes, sir." He replied.

Margaret and Harley went shopping after having lunch. While they're inside the shopping mall, Harley decided to tell her mom about her relationship with Bryce. She thought that her mom will get mad at her but it's the other way around.

She was the one who got excited about it.

" Really? Can I meet him? I'm glad that you have Bryce here. It's hard to study without an inspiration. But promise me to finish your study first, okay?", She told her daughter and she immediately nods her head.

" Sure mom. I won't let anyone ruined my studies." She said and even made a pinky promise.

" I'll just invite him soon. He's also busy with his exam." Harley said while making her way inside the car.

Her mom brought her many dresses and groceries. She and her mom had so much fun together. She don't want to bid goodbyes to her mom yet but she needs to come back to the mansion to served her rich husband.

Both of them hold hands together while letting out tears from their eyes as if they won't be meeting again. .

" Don't worry, sweetie, me and your dad will visit you soon. Maybe this coming weekends, okay?", her mom told her and Harley just nod her head.

"Okay, mom. Give me a call when you arrived home, okay? I'll going inside now. I love you." she said and tightly hug her mom again.

Margaret felt sad to leave her daughter alone again in her dorm but she's a grown up now and she must learn how to live in a city alone.

She happily drove home but she has no idea that Evo planted a GPS device under her car with a mini cam and recorder too. When he got home and check his laptop, he discovered that her wife secretly met with her daughter Harley by lying him. That made him get mad because he can't understand why did her wife lied to him.

Margaret has no idea what was her husband's thinking at the moment. The happiness she feels the whole day can be a nightmare inside the mansion.

She parked her car in their garage and her eyes widened to learned that her husband was already home.

She took all the shopping bags she had and bring them inside when he saw him on the couch watching a television. He noticed her but he didn't bother to help her.

" Hon, I'm home. I thought you will come home late so I ---", she stop when Evo slammed the remote control on the table.

Margaret started and froze to her husband sudden behavior. He didn't even care to kiss her and he's not smiling at all. She noticed that he's not ia n good mood but she had a feeling that maybe he found out her lies.

" Ho--honey, a--are you okay? Did I said so--mething wrong?", Margaret was stuttering as her body trembled in fear.

Evo's cold eyes meets her. He came closer towards her and hastily pulled her towards him. He clamped his hands on her dress which was torn apart.

"Hon, you're hurting me. Why are you acting this way? Let me go!", she shouted at him trying to get away from his grip.

Evo won't budge.

" You met with Harley, right? You even know that she was seeing someone, right? With her age, you let her flirt with some guy? Why?Why?", his roaring like voice echoed the whole mansion.

" No, It's not that. Hon,don't think it that way. I will explain." She said as she started to feel Evo's hands-on her neck.

The sharp gaze in his eyes were surprising. Margaret can't understand what she did wrong to received a punishment like this.

" Enough! Come to the room. You need to know your place here in the house and being my wife!", he shouted and dragged her upstairs.

Margaret keep screaming inside their room. Evo beat her so badly that she couldn't walked and touched her face.

She sat at the corner curling her body into a ball. She's still in pain because of beating. Meanwhile, Evo woke up and saw his poor wide in the floor with bruises on her face.

" Honey, I'm so sorry. I won't do it again. Promise ", that's what he said again like the first time he hit her.
