Chapter 110

Chapter 110

Evie

“You’re back, oh my boy,” I added, cupping my hands around his face as I stared deeply into his eyes. “Oh my boy, I thought I’d lost you,” I said with a shaky voice.

“Mom, mom, it’s okay, I’m fine… If anything, I should be the one worried about you. I found my way back here the minute I got word that you’re awake,” he replied. “I hope he hasn’t been stressing you,” he asked, his voice laced with a sting of venom as he stared at Kieran with authoritative eyes and then back to me.

“Uhm… that’s okay, Son… Let’s go inside. I have a lot of questions bugging my mind right now, and the only one who can give me those answers is you. I’ve heard from him, but I’m sure you’ll understand when I say I don’t believe him one hundred percent.”

“That’s fine, Ma. How about you go to your room? I'll meet you there after I freshen up,” he said.

I replied with a light nod before taking my leave, but just before I got to the hallway, my hearing heightened, and I could hear Ethan’s last words to his father before he left.

“You had better not break our deal in such a short period, Father, or else…” he sneered.

“I haven’t, Son,” Kieran replied.

But I left before I could hear more of that conversation, only to leave my mind with more questions. What deal was he talking about?

I got to my room, took off the gown I was in, and slid into something more comfortable, courtesy of one of the maids. Just a few minutes after that, a knock came in, and when I asked whom it was, Ethan's voice echoed on the other side.

I quickly rushed to get the door, letting out a deep sigh. “Finally,” was the only word that escaped my mouth as I flung the door open.

He walked towards me and gave me a light hug. “It’s glad to have you back, Mom,” he said before pulling himself off and walking into my room.

“Uhm… Is it just me, or has your son tripled in height in just 90 days?” Cyan’s voice echoed softly.

“Oh, Cyan, it’s definitely not just you. I’m guessing it’s because he’s not just any kind of alpha wolf; he’s special,” I replied.

“Uhm… are you going to tell me what happened, or should we just skip to the part where I scold you for making a deal with your father to bring me back to the very place you know I so much hate?” I fired at him.

He chuckled. “What's funny?” I asked with a furrowed brow.

“You, Mom. I’ve missed you so much,” he replied with a smile.

“I’ve missed you too, Ethan, but you better start talking,” I snorted.

“Okay, okay, where should I begin?” he asked rhetorically. “Maybe I should start with the day I met my father after he sneaked into Alpha Lucian’s mansion,” he began.

I just stood there watching him as he spoke. “What about that day? I remember that day pretty clearly, so what about it?” I asked.

“Well, Mom, what you won’t remember was how I felt that day. Seeing him up close like that, I felt a connection I couldn’t explain, and just that amount of proximity did something to my mind, height, my voice, everything on the inside of me just slowly began to change, and that’s the explanation of how I began to talk like this,” he said, pausing for a while. “To talk not like a ten-year-old anymore,” he added softly, but I just stared at him with an expression that said, ‘Okay, I’m listening,’ as I made my way to the bed to sit.

“So what happened at my wedding, and what made it take three whole months before I woke up?” I asked.

He took a deep breath, took a step forward, joined me on the bed, and said, “That's because the incident that happened at your wedding wasn't just an accident, Mom,” he replied.

“Okay…” I said.

“It was an attempt to save your life,” he blurted out. “Our lives,” he added.

“What do you mean?” I asked.

That day after you collapsed, something happened.

Lucian’s & Ethan’s POV

“Mother!!” I screamed at the top of my lungs as I caught her before she hit the ground.

“Alpha Lucian?” I called with a loud voice, urging him to help me.

“Ethan?” he called out softly as he rushed to my side. He got to my side and tried helping me as we both tried to wake my mother up.

“You have to get her out of here right now,” an unfamiliar voice said, making Alpha Lucian and me snap in the direction of the voice.

When I turned, I locked eyes with a woman—a very beautiful woman—staring down at me and Mom with tender eyes. I could swear I'd seen something like this before, but where? That was the one question I couldn't answer.

But just before I could ask her, “Who are you?” Alpha Lucian interjected.

“Tracy?” he called out with a trembling voice.

"Tracy?" I mumbled under my breath as I stared at the lady again. This time a proper look—her shiny scale-like skin, her glowing eyes, and long hair—everything immediately registered in my head.

If she's Tracy, it could only mean one thing: she's his Siren first love he talked about back at the dungeon, I thought, which immediately explained why everyone began to collapse the minute the choir started singing.

They have the voice of an angel, which is capable of literally hypnotizing anyone except alpha wolves, but luckily for my mom, she's an omega.

>>>>>>>>>> flashback ends<<<<<<<<<

He explained, but I just sat frozen, staring into thin air. I swallowed hard. “So you're trying to tell me that I got hypnotized by a siren, and because I'm not human but an omega, it took me three whole months to heal?” I asked softly.

“Yes, Mom,” he replied.

“Why the hell didn't you guys get the btch to do something to wake me back up? Why wait until her spell wears off?” I asked, my voice rising with each word.

“Because, Mom, before she could even get the chance to do that, Diane came with her minions to get her because apparently, she escaped her family's hold just to come to the wedding to save Alpha Lucian because she had a vision about how everything was going to turn out if she didn't do something,” he explained.

>>>>>>>> flashback begins<<<<<<<<<

“Ethan, get your mother to safety. I'll deal with this pest,” Alpha Lucian said, getting in the way between Diane and my mother the minute her men took out Tracy the siren, who seemed to be doing a pretty good job fighting them off.

At this point, it dawned on me that both you and I were in my hands.

I took one last glance at the Evil Lady Diane and then at Alpha Lucian. “You know I can come back to help you when I get back to Alpha Lucian,” I said as I looked at the monstrous machinery in her hands.

“No, Ethan, I want you to stay with your mom and never come out. Protect her,” she replied, making me stare at her with furrowed brows, feeling a sting of sadness in me.

“When are you going to stop seeing me as a boy and let me help you, Alpha Lucian?” I fired at him, but he immediately came closer, crouched down to my level, and cupped my face in his hands.

“Listen, big man, I've never seen you as a boy— not now, not ever, not even from the first day you walked into my room unannounced with some advice about smoking and drinking,” he said with a light chuckle and teary eyes.

“But you have to understand, I can’t take this off with you here if I want to deal with someone who knows I'm a monster,” he said, pointing to the pendant that he had underneath his tux. “You know what happens if I do that, and that's why I need you to stay with your mother until all this is over,” he explained, but I just replied with a light nod.

Just before he could stand up and face his enemy again, I don't know what she did on that machinery of hers, but it sent Alpha Lucian flying as he rolled on the floor and didn't stop until he got to the altar.

“Ouch,” he groaned in pain as he tried to get up. “Go, Ethan, NOW!!!” he yelled at the top of his lungs about to take off his pendant.

“That won't be necessary, my lord,” a familiar voice then echoed from behind as his guardian beast appeared, knocking Diane and several of her men down. “Hello, everyone. Sorry I'm late,” he said as he walked closer.

“Arthur?” Tracy echoed from behind with glassy eyes.

“Tracy?” he called out softly, his eyes going from me to Alpha Lucian, who was now on his feet, to my mom on the ground. “I guess I missed it all already. What happened to Evie?” he asked, crouching to the ground as he took her into his arms.

“She was hypnotized by her,” I said, pointing to the Tracy girl.

Arthur looked up, trying to fight back his disappointment but failed woefully. “Not again,” he complained. “Then what are you doing standing there? Wake them all up?” he snarled.

“I can't,” she blurted out, making us all stare at her in confusion.

“No, no, you can't tell me that… Sirens always know how to undo their spells, so undo it,” Arthur fired.

“I can undo my spell for humans only, but for wolves? I can't—not to mention she's even an omega. I only sensed that now; I thought he was an alpha when I was planning to do this, but it turns out I overrated Lucian,” she said.

“And what's that supposed to be?” Alpha Lucian fired at her.

“It means these powers were specifically designed to give me protection against wolves in the first place during the first war between werewolves and sirens. Now using it on humans has no effect except memory loss of this event, but on werewolves, it would make them suffer in darkness until it wears off on its own,” she explained.

“What?!” Alpha Lucian sneered. He rushed to where she was, grabbed her hands, and said, “Do you mean Evie is somewhere in some darkness suffering right now?” he asked with a thunderous voice.

“If she's been an evil person, I'm afraid so, but if her spirit is innocent, she would just be asleep,” she said.

“Evie has never known how to do evil all her life. I'm sure she'll be fine wherever she is. All we have to do now is wait for her to wake up,” Arthur said with a shaky voice.

I could tell from the way his heart beat that he cared for my mother.

“Then I guess she'll be fine after all. I never underestimated you on that one; you always knew how to attract the good ones,” Tracy’s voice echoed, but Alpha Lucian just stared at her with the eyes that said ‘Don't do that.’

“Oh, maybe not,” she chimed, shifting her gaze away from him.

Just then, the evil lady Diane coughed back to life as she tried to stand up, which made us all turn in her direction.

“Would you just die, btch?” Alpha Lucian snarled as he approached her to finish what Arthur started, but Tracy was quick to stop him.

“Let me have her, Lucian,” she said, making him stop in his tracks. “She's kept me in a tiny human dark cell all my life, so please would you do the honor of helping me trap her in mine?” she said.

“How?” Alpha Lucian asked.

“All I need is those pretty claws of an Umbra Wolf,” Tracy replied, but he just stared at her with furrowed brows.

“How do I know?” she asked, as if knowing he was about to ask her that same question. “I told you I get visions,” she added softly, making him make an ‘oh’ sound with his mouth as they both approached Diane, who was lying weakly on the ground.

“Pick her up with your claw,” Tracy instructed Alpha Lucian, who immediately stuck his claw into her abdomen. When that was done, “she sang again, and with that, Diane's eyes closed into an everlasting darkness.”

“Did I miss something?” A voice echoed in the room from the entrance, and when we all turned to see who it was, it was my father, Alpha Kieran.
