Chapter 12: 12. Meeting His Wolf
"So you want me to fake that we are together? Is that your great idea, Riley?" Nicholas spoke irritated and annoyed at her suggestion. It seemed ridiculous to him given their history. He did not want Riley to get any ideas and rather just wanted to give his and Immery's relationship a chance.
"Taking it or not is your choice. Do you have any other idea?" Riley spoke, gulping down the glass of bourbon.
"Wouldn't that mess up the situation more? I need and want to spend more time with Immery, get to know her beyond just the fact that she's my mate. Find out if she's my true love. We vampire's lead quite a long life Riley, I don't want to rush into things," Nicholas spoke his thoughts out loud, the thoughts that were troubling him for a long time now.
"And that's why I suggested that we should pretend to be together. See it will give you a good excuse to get away from the city, be missing in certain meetings and all. The Lord will hopefully be satisfied knowing that you are trying to live up to his expectations," Riley explained her idea to Nicholas who listened attentively, trying to make sense out of it.
"So you mean I should go up to dad and say that I am marrying you and that I was wrong about the mate thing?" Nicholas said connecting the dots.
"Thank God you are still the smart you," Riley replied as she got up from the couch.
"You think this is going to work? Like dad is not going to be suspicious?" Nicholas spoke, mostly to himself debating if it was at all a good idea. Riley wanted him to agree, that would solve most of her life problems.
"We will see that Nick, now I should be going unless you want me to stay here," Riley spoke with a yawn as she looked over at Nicholas with sleepy eyes.
"No, go to your room, you look sleepy," Nicholas replied to which she nodded, wished him good night and started walking outside his room.
Nicholas watched her leave the room and close the door behind her, the room once again engulfing into silence except the crackling of the firewood. He bore his head into his palm, before drawing his hair out with his fingers. He looked up, at the roof, his mind wandering to Immery. Her face, the surprise in her eyes when he appeared in front of her suddenly earlier this day, that astonished look and the little smile that brightened up her face after she realised that it was him.
He did feel jealous and irritated of the fact that he cannot spend as much as he wanted to with her, as much his brother did.
And he surely wanted to change that, even if it meant faking a relationship with Riley.

She stood there.
Flabbergasted and shocked.
A pair of red eyes staring into her. She wanted to scream but could not find her voice. Wanted to run but her feet felt frozen to the ground. The air around her felt to freeze as well, except the deep animalistic breathing as she stared into those authoritative red eyes. Glowing and intense.
"Christian..?" She whispered out, hoping it was all a joke and he was hiding somewhere. How could this creature in front of her ever be..him? But she could see the scraps of the pants he was wearing shredded on the floor. She dared not look up, she had never seen or known a werewolf before this and definitely on in their transitioned state.
He was big. Way too big than what she had called him before..a dog. Did that anger him? She thought in her mind as she pushed herself more to the window.
On the other hand, Alec sniffed the air, taking in Immery's misty scent. It felt alluring and addictive to him. To finally come out on the surface and see his mate. The one he has waited so long for. He took a step forward, seeing the terror in Immery's eyes elevate. He did not want that, he wanted his mate to feel secure around him.
"She's just a human Alec, she has never seen a werewolf before," Christian rang out in his mind, he wanted Immery to know who he was, and how he looked like. A majestic grey-black furred wolf with shining red eyes.
She was terrified but she couldn't ignore how majestic he looked. Though the darkness was masking a lot of him she moved her eyes around as he stood deathly still, not wanting to scare her off rather let her know him.
Immery was breathing hard. Panicking and sweating as she forwarded one arm, even in his wolf state Christian almost matched Immery's height. Alpha wolves were much larger and stronger than other subordinates, giving him much of an intimidating look even to other wolves.
Alec and Christian were trying to understand Immery's motive. "She's going to either slap your face or pet your head," Christian thought in the back of Alec's mind. While he loved giving the entire control to Alec when he was in his wolf form he knew that he had to hold it back and keep his guards on this time, one little miss of control and Alec would be on the bed with Immery beneath them.
The latter was correct, Immery certainly did not know what should she do but she gathered the courage somehow to run her finger through his fur on the head, earning a satisfying rumble from him. She did not know how she found that courage but something in her was calming her down, providing her with the courage to take a step forward and to feel those lustrous soft furs under her skin. As for Alec, he was practically melting under her touch, something that they had yearned for centuries. An Alpha wolf would never let someone touch their head, it was degrading and disrespectful but to them it was priceless, they could even bow to Immery for the mate bond between them was doing the magic.
To have their mate in front of them. And to accept them in their primal form. Though Immery hadn't said those words aloud, for a primal creature it was more about the expressions than conversation.
Still, Alec wanted to speak to her, to connect to her. But she was without a wolf. He had to wait and he was willing to do it.
"It's time I transform back, she must want to communicate," Christian spoke, trying to initiate the transform while Alec hold it off, Immery had started to finally get over the whole scared thing, looking at him like candy as she touched random parts of his body, petting and giggling to herself.
"She's gonna be more terrified to see your wee-wee form than our wolf one," Alec spoke, while Christian's mind raced. Suddenly the idea of transforming back did not feel appropriate, he would not have clothes on him and Immery would definitely not appreciate seeing him in his birth form!
"Christian...Come back?" Immery whispered out, there were too many questions on her mind right now and she wanted the answers to that. She was excited, she just felt like she had retrieved an ancient hidden treasure.
"Well our mate wants you, Chris, let's transform ?" Alec told, trying to take off his control but Christian greatly refused. It was dark but not enough to be able to hide from her.
"Well, that's your problem to deal with, now back to human. Shift," Alec spoke at the back of his mind, taking advantage of Christian's wandered off the mind.
Immery looked sincerely as the transformation began but couldn't make most out of it, it happened in a blink, her eyes meeting with those familiar blue ones, her eyes travelled downwards, his bare chest, well-built abs and...
Christian hurriedly grabbed the bed sheet off the bed, wrapping it quickly around himself cursing Alec in his head while Immery stood with a gaping mouth and eyes. He turned around, the bedsheet well draped and secured. Both of their cheeks flushed with embarrassment. Immery had never been with a man before nor seen such a thing, just heard about intimacy from her cousins who discussed it back in her house.
"Well...I am not going to ask what you saw and what you did not. It wasn’t a pretty sight. I’m still recovering. But, let's make a deal? We never bring this up?" Christian suggested, while Immery profusely nodded.
"Deal," she said out loud while Christian quickly moved into the closet to get a new pair of pants while Immery looked in his direction, catching her breath which she was holding.
"So, that was my wolf. I hope I did not scare you?" Christian spoke as he came out, Immery's eyes travelled down once again, making Christian bit his tongue inside his mouth to not let that tempt him.
His mate staring at his cock? That could be the hottest thing for him.
Christian faked a little cough to bring back Immery's eyes on him, who went red. She looked down towards the floor.
"Your wolf is admirable," she spoke, with a smile as she felt herself reminiscing how his fur felt under her fingers, something she would want to do again.
Christian looked up at her, her face glowing under the moonlight, her words affecting him in a way it has never.
She was truly special.
"I shall take you on a ride someday then," Christian suggested as they walked towards the bed.
"A ride ?" Immery was unsure if she heard that correct. Was it even possible to ride a wolf? Christian casually shrugged before guiding her towards the bed.
"Sleep Immery, I wouldn't want you to feel tired in the morning," Christian told as he tucked her in the bed, turning to move to the couch as Immery stopped him by holding his hand. Immery debated in her mind if this was appropriate and if she dared to ask him this.
Christian turned towards her at this, not sure of why Immery stopped him.
"Sleep with me?"
