Chapter 126: His Rage

Luca

I stared at the closed door in disbelief. She really did this.

I pulled harder against the shackles until the metal cut deeper into my wrists and blood slid slowly down my skin.

"Mila..." I growled her name again, staring at the closed door as if I could drag her back through it by force alone; but only silence answered me.

Where the fck all the guards? Why no one answering me?

For the first time in years someone had played me. Only her.

The woman I let inside my head. Inside my space. Inside my fcking guard.

A dark laugh escaped my throat, low and dangerous.

"She drugged me..." I muttered to myself, remembering the sweetness of her voice, the softness of her body on top of mine, the innocent look in her eyes while she was planning all this..My jaw tightened violently.

The wine. The cookies. The sweet little smiles.

Every single thing was calculated.

"Fck..." I hissed, throwing my head back for one brief second.

Then rage exploded through me again. I pulled against the shackles with brutal force. Adrenaline and at its peaks.

The wooden headboard slammed repeatedly against the wall.

BANG.

BANG.

BANG.

The entire bed shook beneath me. The metal dug deeper into my wrists, but I didn't stop.

All I could see was her provoking smile as she went out, challenging me in the most dirty manipulating way.

I planned to trap her in a marriage with me. A marriage she could not escape for the rest of her life. But she was proceeding me steps away.

A dangerous darkness rose inside my chest.

The veins in my arms bulged as I twisted my wrists violently around the metal bars of the bed frame, using the angle for leverage.

CRACK.

One side of the wooden headboard split slightly.

I stopped breathing for a second. Then smiled. Slowly.

"There you are..." I murmured.

I planted both feet harder against the mattress and pulled again with everything inside me.

The bed dragged across the floor. Another crack echoed through the room.

Blood now covered both my hands completely. But I barely felt it anymore.

All I could feel was her lips against mine. Her fingers in my hair. Her whisper, "Trust me."

A murderous rage exploded through me.

With a savage roar, I yanked the chain again.

CRAAACK.

The entire side of the wooden frame ripped apart. One cuff loosened instantly.

I freed one hand at once and ripped the second shackle off with brutal force before jumping off the bed. The broken frame crashed behind me.

My chest rose heavily as I stood there surrounded by destruction.

The room looked like a war zone. Broken wood. Wine spilled across the floor. Contract pieces everywhere.

And her scent still lingering in the sheets.

I looked toward the torn pieces of the marriage contract laying near the sofa.

Then slowly bent down and picked one up. My eyes fixed on an empty line where her signature should be.

A low, cold, and dangerous laugh escaped me.

"You really thought you won, Kitten?" I whispered.

Suddenly, loud rushed footsteps echoed outside.

Then the door burst open. Ricardo froze at the entrance.

His eyes widened as he looked around the destroyed room. The broken bed and the blood.

The chains hanging from the shattered frame.

"Holy God..."

"Where is she?" I asked quietly.

Ricardo immediately understood the danger in my tone.

"Mila?" he said carefully. "Did she do all of this?" Disbelif evedent in his voice.

For one second, the entire room fell silent..Then I smiled. Not a normal smile.

Ricardo took a small step backward.

I grabbed my gun from the table beside the ruined bed and loaded it slowly.

"She wants war?" I murmured. My eyes lifted toward Ricardo. "Then this time..." I slid the gun into my waistband. "...I'll give her one."

I stormed out of the destroyed bedroom barefoot, blood dripping slowly from my wrists onto the marble floor. I didn't give a fck.

Every servant I passed immediately lowered their heads in terror.

No one dared to speak. No one dared to breathe too loudly. The entire villa felt my rage.

"Where is everyone?" he barked.

One of the guards swallowed nervously. "S-Sir... some are still unconscious. W... we just woke up."

Blood boilded in my viens.

"What?"

"Everyone had been drugged, Il Don," Silas said as he appeared at the end of the hallway, still dizzy. "The kitchen staff too."

For one second, I simply stood there. Silent.

Then I laughed. A cold laugh. Disbelieving.

"She drugged my entire villa..." I muttered almost proudly.

Silas looked confused by the reaction.

Angelo.

I jogged to his room. It was empty.

Only her red lingerie tossed carelessly over the bed. As if she left it there for me on purpose. Provoking me? Mocking me?

My jaw tightened violently.

'We should be trusting each other first,' I remembered her words.

A harsh laugh escaped me. "Fcking actress," I muttered.

That woman knew exactly what she was doing to me.

The betrayal burned more than the blood still dripping from my wrists.

Not because she escaped. Not because she drugged my men. Not even because she humiliated me.

But because for a few fcking minutes... I believed her.

Ricardo appeared carefully at the doorway. "Mio fratello... we found the guards at the gate locked inside the security room."

"Should we send men after her immediately?" Silas asked.

My eyes slowly lifted toward him. Fear instantly crossed his face.

"Prepare the cars," I said quietly.

"No." I walked toward the window and looked into the dark night outside.

"She didn't run randomly," I murmured. "Mila plans before she moves." I looked down at my bloody wrists. "I'll deal with her in my way."

A strange ache settled inside my chest. Because despite everything... Despite the betrayal... Despite the rage boiling inside me...

I still wanted her. More than before.

And maybe that was the most terrifying part.

'She thinks she can run from me?'

Everyone got out of the room the moment I commanded to prepare the cars.

Once the door shut closed, I grabbed her lingerie and sniffed her scent.

"Run, Kitten." My eyes lifted toward the darkness outside. "Run as far as you can."

My smile disappeared completely. "Because when I find you this time..." My voice dropped lower. "I won't chain you to a bed."

A dangerous calm settled over me. "I'll chain you to me. I won't let the world itself take you away from me."
