You are One of them

Luna POV:

"You are one of them, aren't you?"I said

"You are a bounty hunter" I added

She watched closely, a smirk playing across her lips like I'd seen a couple of times.

"I was hoping, it wouldn't come to this," She said,

I was so confused and disappointed. I hadn't seen it coming.

"Why?" I asked

"For the money, I guess. The bounty on your head is too high to ignore,"

"But you protected me multiple times," I said utterly confused

"I protected my prize from the greedy fingers of other bounty hunters,"

"So, that is all that was," I replied dejected

"Of course, what do you expect? I'd risk my life for a stranger I've never met" She mused "You are so naive"

"All the act," I said

"Was to get you to trust, there was no love lost between us,"

"But why? Why get me to trust you? You could have easily captured me with anything you wanted"

"Dragging you over a thousand miles would have been quite a drag. Besides, I would be attacked multiple times by other bounty hunters who would try to hijack you from me. My method is better"

"When did you plan to let me know"

"I figured you'd catch up at the last moment but I was hoping you wouldn't before I handed you over"

"We were never going to Hidden Rain, were we"

"I don't even know where that is.

"So I was being led to my death, like a lamb to a slaughterhouse. You have been lying to me since I met you"

"Sorry, I'm not sorry Luna" She replied abruptly.

I scanned for which route I could take.

"You aren't planning on running away right? Please don't, I don't want to hurt you" She said

"You don't want to hurt me?" I scoffed. "Well you are doing a lousy job, I'm very hurt right now."

I ran in a random direction. She caught up to me in a heartbeat and appeared in front of me like she teleported.

"Please, you don't know what they are going do to me."

"I don't care. All I care is my money"

I tried to run again, and again she caught up to me in no time.

"Stop Luna, don't make this harder than it has to be."

"You don't expect me to follow you willingly right?"

"I was hoping you would"

"Then you are a fool" I whispered with venom.

I wanted to run away again but was stopped dead in my tracks when she suddenly drew her katana. The sharp blade glistened in the rays of the sun. It sent a shiver down my spine.

"This has dragged far enough. I'm starting to get irked." She snapped

"You are going to kill me?" I asked.

"No, but I will hurt you if you try to run away again. You won't be able to run if I chop two of your legs off"

I watched her face and saw she meant every word she said.

"If you hand me over, Gabriel will find you and make you pay for it," I said.

She grinned devilishly.

"You just gave me a brilliant idea"

"What?" I asked nervously.

I knew it couldn't be good.

"Why hand you over, when I can hand both you and your friend over. Twice the money, twice the fun." She mused.

"What are you saying?"

She ignored me and walked towards the dead men. She searched their body individually, I knew what she was looking for. I took advantage of her backturned and made a run for it. I was desperate to get away from her, but the yearning was short-lived. Before I could get far, I felt a cold metal against the back of my neck. The world spun around before I slowly felt life sucking out of me.
