Chapter 21: The Darkness Around Me
Luna POV:
Darkness surrounds me, pressing in from all sides. I can barely move, my limbs restricted, and the constriction tightens my chest. The air is thick and stifling, making each breath a struggle. Panic surges within me, and I can't escape the feeling of being trapped, like a caged animal.
My heart races, and my mind races with it. There's a sense of dread that's almost suffocating. Every inch of my body aches from the uncomfortable position I'm in, and I can't help but feel a growing sense of despair.
The silence is eerie, broken only by the sound of my labored breathing. I strain to listen for any outside noises, but all I can hear is the relentless pounding of my heart
My heart hammered in my chest as I fought against the relentless chains that dug into my flesh. The more I struggled, the tighter they seemed to grip. I was on what seemed like an iron box, totally enveloped in the dark. I couldn't move a muscle without restriction.
My mind lingered over how I got here in the first place. I knew I shouldn't have trusted that woman, but her demeanor had been so disarming, so friendly, that suspicion had never even crossed my mind. How could I have been so naive?
I can't believe what I've done. My heart feels like it's been crushed under the weight of my own mistakes. How could I have put Gabriel in danger once again? I've always been the cause of his troubles, even though we're not together anymore. Why am I such a burden?
I felt a strong sense of sadness and anger directed at myself. I cursed at myself, unable to escape the guilt that consumed me. It was my fault that Gabriel was in danger once again, we weren't together, yet I've managed to put him in harm's way. Why am I so cursed?
I had seen Isabella fight several times, and the memory of how dangerous and scary she could be sent shivers down my spine.
My past choices had led us to this dangerous crossroads, and I couldn't let him face Isabella's threat alone. But first I had to get out of here.
