Chapter 65: Sixty-five

Verly

I had just gotten back from a meeting with Alex, I decided to shower and rest a bit , when I got a call from Alex .

We had both agreed not to call each other unless extremely important, so I was a bit confused as to why he was calling especially after we had just seen each other.

I picked up my phone and answered the call .

"Alex, what's going on?" I answered, my voice laced with a mix of curiosity and concern.

"Verly, I have some news," Alex said, his voice low and urgent. "I just got back to the palace and I overheard some things. Alana is now sleeping in Damien's chambers and things seem to be going well between them."

I narrowed my eye "What do you mean? How well?"

"I don't know the details, but it seems like they're getting closer. And Alana is suspicious of me, she doesn't trust me."

My mind raced. This was not good. She needed to come up with a plan, and fast.

"Alex, we need to come up with something more visible this time around. We can't afford to lose Damien," i said

"I agree, but we need to be careful. Alana is not one to be underestimated," Alex warned.

I paced back and forth in her room, her mind racing with possibilities. I couldn't let Alana win, not now, not ever.

"Alex, I need you to find out more information. I need to know what's going on in that palace," i said.

"I'll see what I can do," Alex replied. "But Verly, be careful. Don't try the nonsense you tried the last time , the kids are not to be involved in this and you no know Alana is not someone to mess with."

I laughed silently"I understand but I know I can handle her, Alex. Don't worry about me."

"What's your plan, Verly?" Alex asked, his voice curious.

"I'm not sure yet, but I'll think of something. I always do," I replied, her voice confident.

Just then, a maid knocked on my door. "Lady Verly, your mother has summoned you to her study."

My heart skipped a beat. What could my mother want? "I'll call you back, Alex. I need to go."

I ended the call and made my way to my mother's study, my mind racing with possibilities.

"Mother, what's going on?" I asked, trying to sound calm, my mother smiled, her eyes gentle. "Verly, I have something important to discuss with you. You see, Alana is your sister."

My eyes widened, my mind reeling. How did my mother know? I quickly composed herself, trying to pretend to be surprised.

"Sister? But how...?"

My mother held up a hand, stopping her from asking more questions. "That's not all, Verly. I know, you already knew about it and I know what you've done."

Verly's heart stopped. What could her mother possibly know? She tried to keep her expression neutral, but her mind was racing with fear.

"What do you mean, mother?" Verly asked, trying to sound innocent.

Her mother's smile grew wider. "We'll discuss that later, Verly. For now, let's just say that I know everything. And Verly, I'm disappointed in you."

Verly felt a surge of anger, but she pushed it down. She needed to stay calm, needed to think.

"I don't know what you're talking about, mother," Verly lied, trying to sound convincing.

Her mother laughed. "Don't play dumb, Verly. I know all about your little schemes. And I'm telling you, it needs to stop."

Verly's mind raced. What did her mother know? And how was she going to get out of this one?

"Mother, I don't know what you're talking about," Verly repeated, trying to sound convincing.

Her mother sighed. "Verly, we'll discuss this later. For now, just know that I'm watching you. And I won't hesitate to take action if necessary."

Verly felt a chill run down her spine. She knew she had to be careful, had to tread lightly. But she couldn't back down now, not when she was so close to getting what she wanted.

"Mother, I don't understand," Verly said, trying to sound innocent. "What are you talking about?"

Her mother sighed. "Verly, don't play dumb. I know all about your schemes, your plans to get rid of Alana and take Damien for yourself."

Verly's eyes widened, her mind racing. How did her mother know?

"Mother, I don't know what you're talking about," Verly lied, trying to sound convincing.

Her mother laughed. "Don't lie to me, Verly. I know everything. And I'm telling you, it needs to stop."

Verly felt a surge of anger, but she pushed it down. She needed to stay calm, needed to think.

"What do you want me to do, mother?" Verly asked, trying to sound submissive.

Her mother's expression softened. "I want you to leave Alana alone, Verly. I want you to stop trying to sabotage her relationship with Damien."

Verly nodded, trying to look contrite. "I will, mother. I promise."

Her mother's eyes narrowed. "See that you do, Verly. I'm watching you."

Verly felt a chill run down her spine. She knew she had to be careful, had to tread lightly. But she couldn't back down now, not when she was so close to getting what she wanted.

"I will, mother," Verly repeated, trying to sound convincing.

Her mother nodded. "Good. I'm glad we understand each other, Verly. Now go, I have other matters to attend to."

Verly left her mother's study, her mind racing with possibilities. She knew she had to be careful, had to watch her back. But she couldn't give up now, not when she was so close to getting what she wanted.

As she walked back to her room, she couldn't help but wonder what her mother knew. And how she was going to get out of this one.

She flopped down on her bed, her mind racing with thoughts. She knew she had to come up with a plan, and fast. She couldn't let her mother ruin everything.

After a few minutes of thinking, Verly sat up, a plan forming in her mind. She would pretend to be submissive, pretend to listen to her mother's warnings. But in reality, she would be plotting her next move, her next scheme to get rid of Alana and take Damien for herself.

Verly smiled to herself, her mind racing with possibilities. She knew she had to be careful, had to tread lightly. But she couldn't back down now, not when she was so close to getting what she wanted.

With a newfound determination, Verly got up from her bed and began to pace around her room, her mind racing with thoughts. She knew she had to come up with a plan, and fast. She couldn't let her mother ruin everything.

As i paced, my mind raced with possibilities. She could try to sabotage Alana's relationship with Damien, try to make her look bad in front of him. Or she could try to win Damien over herself, try to make him fall in love with her.

Verly's eyes narrowed, my mind racing with thoughts. I knew I had to be careful, I had to tread lightly. But i couldn't back down now, not when i was so close to getting what she wanted.

With a newfound determination, i stopped pacing and sat down on my bed, my mind racing with possibilities.i knew I had to come up with a plan, and fast. I couldn't let my mother ruin everything.
