Synopsis

Adriana, a vampire in nature, never really wanted to take any of her actions seriously, including the much-awaited engagement party that her parents prepared for her when she reached the right age to get married. She never realized how serious it was until she saw the man in the picture her mother gave her.

She wished she could chew off the man's neck until it bled to death. But just as much as the thirst she gets from wanting to kill his soon-to-be husband, she can't control the undying anticipation in her mind about marrying him.

But then Cooper, a werewolf who kept his identity, followed the clan he hated the most. He began to seek revenge for his mother and even provoked the proud heiress of that family. He hated her to hell. But something's making him want to explore the other side of his desire and let her be the girl he wanted for the rest of his life.

What are the odds that they could possibly fall in love with each other despite of the past their families have?

Chapter 1: Prologue

I can still feel his warm blood dripping all over my legs while he's there on the floor, holding my foot as he tries to regain his strength. He cried for help until his breathing became abnormal. A moment passed; he just stopped breathing after he told me something.

"You're a bitch."

I am.

I reached for his hands and wiped his blood out of them. I licked some of his fingers just to savor the delicious taste of his blood in my mouth again.

What a petty boy! He thought he was going to have some fun tonight. I stepped out of his room and walked straight to the bathroom to get the tub ready for me.

What a life!

I was about to hold the doorknob when someone swiftly grabbed my shoulder and pinned me right through the wall. I groaned a bit because I felt a little pressure from what happened.

"Mom told you already that you should not literally taste your dates," Luke said as he removed some dust from my hair.

"Mom also told you not to gatecrash any of my dates," I sarcastically replied.

"Now, who's going to clean that up?" He looked so problematic while looking at the dead body of the man who was supposed to be my date.

"I don't know," I said as I opened the bathroom door. "Maybe room service."

"The elders told us not to mess up, Adi," Luke warned me.

I pointed at him. "I'm not messing up, this is having fun."

As I closed the door, I heard his loud growl outside. I just laughed about it and tried to focus on cleaning myself up right before dinner.

When I got out of the bathroom, my brother was still there, and it looks like he already cleaned up the mess I made a while ago.

"Bro, do you have OCD?" I teased him, but he looked so serious.

"We need to get back to the mansion," he said in a tone that I hate the most.

What's the matter now?

He guided me until we got downstairs of the hotel building while waiting for the car that's supposed to fetch us. His eyes are fixed on his phone while he looks so agitated and confused about what he's reading, I guess. I can't help but ask.

"Why do you look so serious?" I caught his attention for a second, but he just turned his head to focus on his goddamn phone. Damn it, I'm annoyed!

Finally, the long-awaited car arrived. I got in and sat at the farthest seat from where my brother sat down. He still looked confused, and he's not sharing anything about it.

"You should really think about every action that you took for the last five years we had in this city."

It seems like he sensed that I was trying to kill him by looking at him from behind.

"Why would I think about it?" I said it in a sarcastic tone. "As if someone's going to be brave out there and tell the truth about us."

"Unfortunately," he said, and then turned his head to look at me. "There is."

The serious look in his face made me quite nervous the whole trip back to our mansion. The trip back to our mansion is a two-hour drive; it is outside of the city, and I'm pretty sure we'll arrive there two hours before midnight, where I know the elders will be waiting for us.

As I saw those lights on the window of our Victorian-style mansion, which is still standing firmly after a long century, it just made me shiver again. I only visit this house if I did something bad, and maybe, as I guess, something's going to be so interesting for tonight's happening.
