Chapter 78
Adelaide's heart was filled with joy, a feeling she believed to be unshakable. Nothing and no one seemed capable of stealing that emotion from her, especially today. Today was her fiancé's award ceremony.
She smiled whenever she thought about the relationship she had with him. To think that the "hot doctor" who had initially treated her sister would become much more than a kind man, but rather her prince charming, made her feel grateful for fate.
After carefully arranging her hair and applying a light makeup, Adelaide chose a golden dress, following the fashion advice from her sister and even Thomas, with his venomous touch. The dress magnificently enhanced her beauty.
"I think everything is perfect now," she said to herself, looking at her reflection in the mirror.
A voice enveloped her, "You should ask yourself how not to be perfect, Adelaide."
She turned around, surprised to see Griffin leaning against the bedroom door, arms crossed. She wondered how long he had been there, probably witnessing her effort to eliminate any small imperfections. Adelaide knew that in Griffin's eyes, she was perfect in every aspect, the woman he had always dreamed of.
"You know I'm not good with these things," she replied, observing Griffin's elegance in his dress shirt and blazer folded in his arms. "People still ask me today if you're really my fiancé."
With a sly smile, Griffin teased, "If they ask you how you seduced me, tell them it was your natural beauty."
Adelaide laughed, her laughter was music to Griffin's ears. "You're something else."
While leaving for her purse in the living room, Adelaide considered herself ready and ahead of time for the award ceremony. She knew she couldn't delay Griffin because she was overly concerned about her appearance; after all, he was the star of the night.
Checking her wristwatch, Adelaide realized Griffin was still finishing getting ready. She decided to look for him, expecting him to be in the office, as he always did when something important was about to happen. She was right. Hearing low murmurs, she reached the door and found Griffin in a battle with a bowtie.
A playful smile formed on Adelaide's lips. She entered the room and skillfully helped him adjust the bowtie, finding amusement in his concentrated expression.
"What's the matter?" Griffin asked, confused by her sudden smile.
Adelaide laughed again, "Nothing... " Her laughter grew lighter. "To think you were struggling with a bowtie?"
With good humor, Griffin replied, "They didn't teach me that in medical school. Sorry, Miss." He returned the smile and gave her a peck on the lips. "But in the coming years, you'll be responsible for it. Who better than my future wife to help me?"
Griffin's words could make her feel butterflies in her stomach like a lovesick teenager. It was a feeling she thought she would never experience again. Adelaide smiled, embraced Griffin's neck, and leaned in, kissing him passionately. After their prolonged liplock, they were both breathless, while Griffin looked at the wall clock.
"Adelaide?"
"Hmm?" She responded, her face resting against his chest, listening to the accelerated rhythm of his heart.
"We can't be late, right?" Griffin asked, smiling.
Adelaide raised her face to meet his gaze. "I think it's impossible for us to be late at this point."
A spark of desire crossed Griffin's gaze. "I think it is." He declared, a mischievous smile dancing on his lips before leaning in and capturing Adelaide's lips again, this time with a fervent passion that caught her by surprise.
Adelaide managed to break free from the kiss among sighs, her concern about the award ceremony returning. "But what about the award ceremony?" She asked, worried.
Griffin untied the bowtie skillfully. "We have all the time in the world." He assured her, a loving gaze in his eyes. "It won't be because of this award that I'll stop loving my fiancée. Besides, I have you here to help me put this back on." He referred to the bowtie, with a conspiratorial smile.
A laugh escaped Adelaide's lips as she noticed the almost teenage nature of his urgency. She kissed him again, her fingers entwining in his hair. Griffin's hands, which had been firmly placed on her waist, explored her body, sliding down to her thighs. She understood the silent invitation and wrapped her legs around his waist as he lifted her and placed her on the nearby table.
The items on the table were pushed, falling to the floor in a clutter, but that didn't matter. He kissed her, deepening the contact between their lips. "I love you so much..." He murmured, his words getting lost in the kiss.
Adelaide responded, lost in the emotions that surrounded her. "You don't know how much I love you too..."
Griffin's smile was different, a mischievous look that he only showed her. His lips traced a path to her neck, evoking deep sighs. One of his hands slid under the dress, lowering the strap and exploring her skin with gentle kisses.
"Griffin..." Adelaide whispered, feeling her body heat up under his passionate caresses.
Griffin, satisfied with being able to provide her pleasure with his touches, continued his exploration. He slowly unbuttoned his shirt, their gazes meeting as he discarded it on the office floor. Once again between her legs, he held her by the waist, their bodies merging in a passionate embrace.
"I want to make you the happiest woman in the world," he confessed, his voice laden with emotion.
Adelaide felt inundated by intense feelings. "But you're already doing that." Her hands caressed his shoulders, and she lightly brushed her thumb over his lips before kissing him tenderly.
The table was now the stage for their overwhelming passion. Adelaide's torso was tilted over the surface, and she closed her eyes, lost in the sensations he aroused in her body. Kisses trailed down her neck, and his hands descended down her legs, leaving a trail of pleasure.
With skilled hands, he removed the lacy piece that covered her body, tossing it into a corner of the room. His lips followed an upward path, each touch intensifying her longing. A light bite on her thigh made her moan, mixing pleasure and plea.
"Don't torture me, Griffin..." She pleaded, almost in a whimper.
He laughed, his laughter contagious. "It wouldn't be fun otherwise."
Her moans filled the space as his hands unveiled every inch of her intimacy. Adelaide was on the edge of ecstasy, her breath irregular, her eyes closed in a mixture of pleasure and anticipation. Her moans formed an impatient call as he accelerated the pace of his touches.
"Don't stop..." Adelaide moaned, her eyes closed, her words between sighs. "It's so... good."
However, before the climax enveloped her, he interrupted his caresses, leaving her in a mix of frustration and desire. He deliberately tortured her, and Adelaide, although displeased, knew that this was part of the game they shared.
"We'll come together, love," he said, rising and adjusting his pants, his eyes filled with intense need. He held her by the thighs, his expression of desire making her body pulse in response.
The air was charged with anticipation, the accelerated breaths were a testimony to the fervor consuming them. "We might... be late..." Adelaide whispered, barely managing to control her own excitement.
Griffin smiled, a mischievous gleam in his eyes. "As long as you don't run away again at midnight," he teased, a smile that made her shiver. "I love you, Adelaide."
His words echoed in the space, a silent oath enveloping them. "I love you too, Griffin," she replied, her voice laden with emotion. However, before they could proceed, he entered her, catching her by surprise.
Griffin's body leaned over hers, their gazes meeting in an intimate understanding. Lying together on the table, he embraced her in a fiery hug, moving with a deliberate and sensual slowness. Adelaide softly murmured his name, her voice heavy with desire.
"You're so... delicious..." Griffin whispered, his expression a blend of pleasure and intensity, as he maintained the rhythm, his gaze locked onto hers, capturing each moment.
Adelaide blushed at her fiancé's provocative words. It was a side of him that made her feel strangely embarrassed, although the increasing desire in his eyes left her both enamored and flattered. Her hands tightened on her thighs, and she began to follow his lead, their movements becoming quicker, while gasps escaped her lips in eager fashion.
Griffin ignored the audacious sounds echoing around them, focusing solely on the pleasure they were sharing. Adelaide tried to speak, but any words were replaced by moans of pure ecstasy, her hands gripping onto him as she lost herself in the overwhelming wave of pleasure he evoked.
"I do too," Griffin murmured, hoarse, his gaze fixed on her ear as he sought to connect with her more deeply.
Adelaide's body arched, a muffled cry escaping her lips as the peak washed over her, an explosion of sensations consuming her. Her nails scratched his back, and she buried her fingers in his hair, lost in the overwhelming ecstasy he could evoke.
He followed closely, the sensation of climax taking over as he kissed her passionately, his skin pressing against hers, both surrendered to the fervor of the moment. Griffin playfully suggested an additional round, his teasing tone echoing in the space.
Adelaide laughed, giving his chest a light tap. "No, you need to receive an award and give a speech, Doctor!" She scolded him, her infectious laughter.
Griffin yielded, with a charming smile. "Alright then, future Mrs." He laughed, kissing her again. It was a moment of deep connection, where passionate desire intertwined with the commitments they shared. Adelaide was undoubtedly the love of his life, and together, they would face all the challenges that came their way.
