Chapter 89: LOWLY CREATURES

The news about the upcoming bethrothal of Aerouant and Sylph Kingdom's heirs spread like wildfire through the entire Realm.

It has become the hot talk of the town and every living creature had different reactions towards it since it was such a peculiar event. Nobody had it predicted since it never happened before. Little by little, each creatures from different corners of the realm began to express their interests in it.

Most creatures refused to believed that it was out of affection. Others believed that there was something more behind it otherwise, why would a dragon as high as mighty choose to be with a weak creature? Was it because they wanted to merge their powers with them?

Those who yearned to side with the Cage Clan through bethrothal felt their end was approaching especially those who looked down at fairies while the others chose to sit and watch in the corner on how the events turn out. Their opinions wouldn't matter to them anyway so its best to kept their silence at the meantime.

There were also creatures that seemed to be looking forward to Cage Clan's failure and they're bound to step out from their comfort zone to celebrate when the right time comes.

Every creatures treated the Cages as mighty creatures who ruled the entire Realm for centuries using their powers to dominate every kingdom and turn them into their allies. Their merciless, intimidating, arrogant and godly behaviors are totally opposite from those of the fairies.

The Cage brothers were well-known to every creature of the Realm as they were the ones that mostly put their father's commands into bloody action. In other words, they are super famous. Famous in killing creatures that chose to went against their father's will. Those who couldn't overcome their fear never hesitates to offer themselves to be their slaves just to remain in their good side to assure their safety through the span of time.

Those lowly creatures couldn't even stand the sight of them wherever they went. Even so, most female creatures from different kingdoms took a fancy to be with them for they admired them from head to toe. They are both handsome with well-defined features and not just that, they are both powerful. Any female creature would willingly slip into their bed if they'd easily gain access to their chambers but that wasn't really the case. No one can freely come and go the castle. Even workers are forbidden from coming out after passing through some tests let alone slipping into their beds.

"Has anyone seen the princess of Sylph Kingdom?"

"What does she look like?"

"She definitely looked beautiful compare to you!"

"This is frustrating!"

"Why don't you try calling out a fairy and wish to get hooked up with one of those Cage brothers before the bethrothal takes place?"

"Haha! Don't be ridiculous! Fairies won't grant lewd wishes in case you might forget it!"

These words rang in Darius' ears loud and clear as soon as he stepped out of the border of Azure forest.

From a distance, he could see a few silhouttes walking away engrossed in their silly discussions and he figured that they must be all female creatures according to how their conversation turn out to be.

'Princess of Sylph Kingdom?' He wondered as he pricked his ears using his ability while walking to the huge tree nearby, to hide himself from any other creature that might pass by. 'Why are they talking about her. Could it be that...'

His thoughts halted as soon as he realized one thing. 'So Vladimir was actually reffering to the princess of Sylph Kingdom then? But how did he come to such a ridiculous arrangement?'

Darius was a little confused.

From what he know, fairies wouldn't dare associate themselves with dragons. They feared them just like the other creatures residing in the Realm so how did he manage to let the other party agree with him? Furthermore, he was familiar with his father very well, even Vladimir despised gentle creatures so why was he doing this?

'What was he up to this time?' He thought.

Not far from where he secretly stood, Darius heard another string of words. However, those were different from what he heard earlier.

"Lord Vladimir purposely instructed the others to spread the news about the upcoming bethrothal hoping Master Darius will come out to clear his name! We must keep looking for him!"

Darius scoffed internally. 'So this was his plan all along! To lure me out?' His jaws hardened and a cold look flashed across his eyes. 'Does Vladimir took me for a fool? Why can't he just give up on me and bethrothal?!'

"Search carefully!" One of his father's loyal slave roared to his fellow slaves whose busy combing the huge trees nearby. "We must not let any creature pass without annalyzing their entire appearance! Master Darius might be one of them!"

'Those lowly creatures!' Darius cursed in the back of his head. 'They really thought that they could subdue me if ever they happen to see me?'

He was a well-trained warrior. He had fought different types of warriors from different kingdoms in the past and neither did he went back home as a loser. He was well-known as the king of the battlefield for he always conquer his enemies. Valdimir took all the credits of his hardwork though but that doesn't matter to him as he believes that he would soon gain whatever he has.

Apart from that, he had this rare strength that no one from the Cage family has but he never let either Vladimir nor Arthur know about it. This is his secret and he frequently used it to his advantage. His grandfather might've have known about it though that's why he appointed him to be the next head of their clan as soon as Vladimir stepped out from being a ruler. However, things changed.

He had chosen his mate rather than the throne. He wanted Mystica more than anything in this Realm that's why he left everything to Arthur.

Thinking of his mate, Darius curled his lips. 'I need to hurry back otherwise..."

He was about sneak out from those lowly dragon's sight when he heard a commotion from a distance. He stopped his movements and listened to every words he could grasp.

"The search is over!" Another group shouted. "Lord Vladimir has ordered us to go back!"

Darius was perplexed. 'What on earth was Vladimir planning? Why did he suddenly changed his mind? Did he finally gave up on me and chose Arthur in my stead?'

If he was right, he should be elated by now but he knows Vladimir more than anyone. He was cunning, scheming and moreover he wasn't the type to easily gave up to whatever he wanted unless...

Darius' eyes widened. Right after his father's slaves took off, he hurried to go back to Arure Forest. However, upon stepping into the border, the corners of his eyes caught a familiar creature. It was bunny, Mystica's friend rabbit and it was huddling in the corner. He stopped in his tracks and approached it. He intended to pick it up and carry him home to surprise his mate but it jumped out of his arms and ran out of the border.

Mystica adored bunny so much so Darius had to chase after him to get him to back to Azure Forest before anyone sees him but as soon as he passed by a huge tree, he froze as someone mindlinked him.

'You want your mate back? Let's have a deal!'
