“What the hell is this nonsense?” screamed Phillip, as he wadded up the newspaper.

“What?” Bernie asked.

“It says that Christopher Le Monte and six other men fought off twenty six bandits near Willow Bend Texas with twenty four killed.”

“Maybe Chris is among the dead, Phil,” said Bernie with a smile.

“Wipe that grin off your face,” roared Phillip “the bandits were the only ones killed. And don’t call me Phil.”

“Oh!” said Bernie in a low voice.

“How long I have waited to hear that he’s dead,” whined Phillip. “Why is it he keeps tormenting me so.”
