Chapter 164

Chapter 164

Anna

"Celia," I said, a wave of relief washing over me.

"Don't look so relieved, Sis. I haven't come to save you."

I sighed.

"Why are you doing this?" I asked.

She stared at me.

"I'm not doing anything. Azeal is. And if you just cooperate with him, you'll understand he is trying to save you,"

"Not this shit again,"

I rolled my eyes.

"He's helping you."

"Oh, please. You're so stupid. He's using me and he's been using you "

"He raised me!"

"To be his  the perfect machine for him. I mean he has you against your own sister!"

"Youre a stranger to me!"

"Yes and guess who's fault that is." I spat.

I wasn't sure what I was expecting from her but a bit of solidarity wouldn't have hurt

Look, I am not here to argue with you."

"Then why are you here, Lil sis?" I questioned.

"Azeal told me to. Incar you were trying to escape,"

"Well, now that you know we aren't, you can go now,"

I said.

She glared at me, shook her head and then walked out.

"The stubbornness seems to run in the family." Duncan said after a beat.

He was taking everything in stride and it was. In fact, he was all too calm about all of this.

I wouldn't be surprised if he turned out to be Azeal's brother.

"Nsh, I'm stubborn. She's plain dumb. Blindly following a man using her,"

"She might genuinely care about him and even though you're sisters, she feels no bond with you,"

"Thanks captain obvious,"

I snapped.

"You seem to be taking the fact that your best friend betrayed you, Duncan,"

He glanced at me.

"Dwelling on it will do nothing. I'm more focused on how to get out of here. Kill that bastard and move on with my life,"

"Can't you get out of those chains?" I askes

"Silver and iron chains," he muttered

Great."

For the next couple of hours, there was total silence between us, neither of us daring to speak.

I was in my head, trying to figure out a way to escape.

If only I could reach Tim

Suddenly, an idea came to me...

"Do you know anything about witches?" I suddenly asked.

Duncan raised a brow at me in question.

"Yes, I do. Why?"

"How can you contact one?" I asked.

"Usually with a phone call or something."

Duncan shrugged.

I sighed. That wasn't feasible.

Deciding to try anything I could

"Alice!"

I yelled.

No answer.

"Alice!"

"Who the hell is Alice?" Duncan asked.

"She is my sister."

I answered with a sigh.

"You have another sister?" Duncan questioned.

"Yes, I found out last month,"

Now that I thought about it...

"She's not my sister by blood though. My mother was involved with a woman, Selena G. They uh were lovers. Alice is her daughter and she is a witch.".

Duncan nodded, taking the information in. He was surprisingly calm and it made me wonder what the hell he was going to do me if we were to get out of here.

"Selena G? I knew her. She was one of my father's special friends. She had a daughter?"

"Yes and if only I could contact her, I'm sure she could be of some type of help."

The door suddenly opened and Azeal walked in a long with Levi.

Duncan's eyes turned a glaring red as he stared at his former best friend.

"I see you two are awake," Azeal said, looking between the both of us.

"I'm sure last night was rough for you both. Especially you Duncan, finding out your best friend and love were the mole all along must not have been an easy pill to swallow."

"What do you want, Azeal."

"Easy. Sign your birth right to me."

"Excuse me?"

Duncan frowned.

"I want to rule the iron vine and all the companies under your name both real and fake and also your pack back home and in order for that to happen, you'll have to sign your rights to me."

"Wouldn't it be easier if you just killed me?"

"Then I'd have no claim of anything. This is the human world after all. Everything is legal here."

Duncan chuckled. "All of this so you can be like me? What happened to fighting to the death for what you want , old man or maybe there's something else you want,"

Duncan snarled.

"Smart boy but I have your beloved here, I can just make you watch as I mutilate her and your unborn child ,"

Azeal growled.

I sucked in a breath.

"You know I'm pregnant?" I questioned.

"I told you, I know everything.

"Oh don't look at me like that. I kept my end of the bargain. I told you about your mother, I told you about the person responsible for your Mother's death."

"You're monster."

"Maybe so but I'm more a man of resources than anything else. Tell Duncan to give me what I want or your precious friends will be killed."

"Tim," I murmured. "What have you done to them?"

Duncan snapped his head at me.

"The detective?" He asked and then shook his head, apparently no longer surprised.

"Of course,"

"Nothing yet. They tried to stage a rescue mission last night and were captured. Fools. Why do humans never learn?".

"Tim and Alice are here?"

I asked.

"Yes and then keeping their lives, solely depend on your ability to convince your man here of what I want."

"I can't believe you or you!" I glared at Levi.

There was no reaction on his face as always.

I sighed. Duncan looked tense, he was angry. Too angry. I could practically see his veins as he watched Levi. I could tell he was genuinely hurt by Levi's actions but could only express it through intense anger.

My eyes locked with Azeal's.

Duncan spoke just the. "When I get out of here, I'm going to make you wish you were dead" his eyes locked with Azeal. The both of you.

Azeal smirked, unbothered. "The I better make sure you never get out,"

He turned to Levi, giving him a slight nod. Make sure they stay alive. Barely."

Without a word, Levi moved towards the door. Duncan chains clinked as he lunges, even knowing he couldn't reach him. "Coward!" He shouted, voice Sharp as steel. I could tell he was hurt. "You hide behind silver and chains."

Levi paused, meeting Duncan's eyes for a brief, unreadable second before exiting.

I stared at Azeal, hatred boiling inside me. "If you lay a finger on Tim or Alice..."

"I won't," Azeal said smoothly. "Unless you make me

"Why are you doing this?" I whispered.

He tilted his head. Kick sympathy in his expression. "Because power, Anna. Because destiny. Because Duncan's father stole everything I was supposed to have."

"We'll see," he replied, then left.

The door slammed shut behind him. The silence that followed was thick.

"I'm going to kill him," Duncan muttered, low and steady.

I believed him.

"Then we need to get out of here," I said, forcing my brain to work faster.  "We need Alice."

"She's here, Duncan said. "That's our chance."

We locked eyes, and a  spark of determination ignited between us.

No matter what it took, we were getting out of here alive and without signing shit,
