Chapter 6

I didn't argue with him anymore when he said that I should always eat with him. I silently watched the towering buildings outside my window.

I don't know if it's right for me to accompany him every time he eats. Because according to the teleseryes I watch, the maids are supposed to be there and serve their masters when they eat. They should wait for it to finish before they eat.

"I-is it okay?" After a few moments of silence, I looked at him.

“What?" he asked without even looking at me.

"That... I'll go eat with you."

He tilted his head as he looked at me.

"You will eat with me because I want the two of us to eat the food you will prepare for me..."

I immediately looked away. I don't want to thrill! There isn't exciting by what he said. But why does my heart react like this?

"So if you think of poisoning me, we'll both die," he added, making me laugh.

"You think I'm going to poison you?" I turned to him.

I would have been thrilled. But he thinks I have bad plans for him so he wants us to eat together.

"Do you really think I'm going to waste your time?" I have another question.

He just shrugged his shoulders and didn't answer me. My eyes narrowed as I looked at him. He really thinks that way. Shocks!

"For your information, I'm not a murderer!" I snorted at him that he didn't even retaliate.

He stopped the car at a Filipino cuisine restaurant and immediately got out. He immediately preceded me to open the door of the passenger seat. Because my seatbelt is disgusting and doesn't want to be removed.

"Why not?" I whispered in annoyance.

I heard Zoren's grin. Maybe he noticed me pulling on the seatbelt. I know how to remove it. I can see in kdramas that they get rid of it easily.

"It's your first time riding a car?"

I immediately looked up at him. His smile was still plastered on his lips as he looked at me in amazement.

"It's my first time. But I know how to remove it!" I boasted before pulling the seatbelt again.

Why don't you want to untie? Damn!

"That's not how it's removed, Mel," he said and pressed something while pulling it, causing it to come loose.

I know how it was worn earlier. Why am I stupid and didn't press that? Or maybe I'm just so confused that I don't know what to do? Oh my! Why am I confused?

"You're really a virgin for anything, aren't you?" he said and left in front of me so I could pass.

After he closed the car door, he immediately walked into the restaurant. I just followed. Maybe he will treat me, right? I don't have a salary yet.

By the way, I haven't asked him what my pay day is.

Zoren immediately chose a table and just pulled me a chair before sitting in front of it.

Is he like this with other girls? gentlemen? I shook my head while looking at him. I don't think I'm his girl. Or maybe he's just like that to all women? Be it his mother or his female sister if there is one.

"Aren't you going to sit?"

"Huh? Uhh..." I nodded nervously and immediately sat down.

A waiter immediately approached us and immediately handed over the menu card.

"We're going to make it heavy so..." Zoren muttered as he looked at the menu in his hand.

My eyes squinted. I really noticed last night that he is handsome. But he is really very handsome. His eyebrows were very black and thick. His eyelashes are long and slightly wavy. I grinned a little. Just like a girl. His eyebrows met, which I had been staring at for a while, so my gaze dropped to his eyes. And damn!

I immediately looked away and focused on the empty table on my side.

"Should we order more? I feel like you're full, huh."

"I'm hungry. You just feel it."

He laughed so I looked back at him.

"Just this. This one line." he said to the waiter and at the same time his index finger stroked the menu from up to down.

"Yes?" The waiter could hardly believe it so it bowed to Zoren.

"That's all we ordered." He pointed again to the menu.

"Oh. Okay! Just wait, sir," said the waiter then left.

The whole waiting time, I could see from the corner of my eyes that Zoren's eyes focused on me. I swallowed several times and tried to avoid his gaze.

"Uhh... W-why?" I looked at him. I hoped he would give me an answer. But only a small smile appeared on his lips then he turned to me.

I just looked away again. I thought he would look away but he kept staring at me.

What's wrong with this guy? He didn't speak and just stared at me. But why? What's up and he's doing this to me? Gosh! Did he think that was okay?

 It took a long time before the waiter returned and served the food ordered by Zoren. That's when he lost sight of me when we started eating.

"You don't have to make it fast, Mel," Zoren spoke in the middle of the meal. Maybe he noticed my speed and I took one bite after another.

"Uh... Sorry... I'm just really hungry," I said and didn't feel ashamed of him anymore. As long as food was in front of me, I don't feel ashamed!

He nodded. "I understand. That's why I ordered a lot. Just make it slow. Your stomach might get upset."

Is he concerned? Char, Melissa! As if! Maybe he's just afraid that you'll die and he'll be the one to blame, so that's how it is.
