Chapter 182
Ryker
“I’m assuming Drake adjusted the lock since Ivan’s hair looks that way.” I smirked.
“He did, so what now? You know they don’t trust you, right?” Ivan pointed out.
“They will. I just need to fix their lock. So let’s get going. Boss is going to get suspicious otherwise.”
Ryker, it’s been almost 20 years. You really think they’re going to trust us? Zayne linked me.
Guess we’ll find out.
“I’ll see you soon, princess.” Ivan told Ariya.
“No you won’t. You’re not coming back here today.” I told him, “I’ll explain later. Not here. Let’s go.”
Ariya and Ivan smirked at each other. Apparently they knew something I didn’t. I grabbed Ivan and shoved him out the door so we could go meet up with Drake and the others. Getting out of the facility was easy enough. Everyone stared at Zayne and I, like usual. They had no idea who we were but seeing the nervous faces around Ivan made things interesting. As soon as we got near the forest Ivan’s hair changed again. I raised an eyebrow at him as he flashed his wolf eyes. My memory came flooding back in and I flashed my eyes at Zayne, his eyes responding to me.
“Ryker!” Zayne growled.
“How long has it been since he shifted?” Ivan asked.
Realization hit me, “Too long. You better get your shirt and shoes off unless you have another set, Zayne.”
Zayne was taking deep breaths trying to slow his shift as he pulled his shirt off and was scrambling to kick off his shoes. It’d been a while since I’d seen Zayne’s wolf. Zayne’s wolf was a gray-blue color, similar to the twin’s eyes.
“You might want to go run with him. See if you can learn something. I can grab your things and meet up with Drake and Keo.” I told Ivan.
Ivan nodded, “Caleb can join us and then we’ll meet up with you guys in a bit.”
“Link them and let them know.” Zayne growled as he shifted.
As Ivan shifted I raised an eyebrow, surprised that his wolf was almost as large as Zayne’s. Ivan let out a howl and then ran off with Zayne. I grabbed their clothes and made my way over to the meeting spot. Drake was standing waiting. He looked ready to fight. I couldn’t help but smirk when I saw him.
“Well, if it isn’t my little brother, still so serious huh?” I smirked.
Drake growled at me, baring his fangs, “If you hurt any of them, I’ll kill you.”
I held my hands up, “I’m not going to tell you I won’t hurt any of them because I likely will, all of you need a serious amount of training if you’re going to break Ari out of there, because not only are you going to have to break Ari out of there, you’re going to have to do it by taking Zayne and I as hostages. So if you don’t mind, before you keep growling at me, let me fix your lock so I can fix Keo’s lock and we can get on with the family reunion. We have a lot of work to do and not much time to do it.”
Drake continued his standoff glare at me refusing to get closer.
I sighed, “Would you like to look into my mind instead, Drake? Will that put you at ease?”
Drake sighed and came closer. I undid his lock, letting his memories of me flood back into his mind. Drake gasped and fell to his knees, my hands still on his head.
Did you? Drake linked me.
No. Why do you think I never made it back? I told him.
They don’t know, brother. Drake told me.
I’m aware. Who do you think locked those memories too? They’re not getting those ones back. It will only put them in more danger if they knew.
They might ask.
Doubt it.
What if they do?
Then we better hope that Ari’s out of there by then. Otherwise you’re going to have to lie to them.
Me? Why not you? Drake growled.
Didn’t I just give you all your memories back? I don’t lie, remember?
It’s over 1000 years of memories. Forgive me for not being able to recall you only ever telling the truth. Drake grumbled.
“Your turn, Keo.” I told him.
Zayne, Ivan, and Caleb showed up, but remained in their wolf forms. Compared to Zayne and Ivan, Caleb looked like a puppy. Keo got in front of me and I placed my hands on his head. Undoing the lock. He only had a couple years of memories with me in it so his flash of memories went a lot faster than Drake’s. When it was over he looked at me with recognition on his face this time.
“Uncle Ryker? Wow, I mean I know Ariya showed us but it didn’t feel real. Not that I didn’t believe her, it just didn’t feel real. I don’t get it though, why did you infiltrate all those years ago?” Keo asked.
Told you. Drake linked me.
