Chapter 72
The azaan of fajar prayer was being called from the mosque. Ayzel woke up with the first call. Zain was sleeping peacefully. Usually, Ayzel awakened him for morning prayer. She was his alarm.
But today she did not. Because she did not want him to wake up. She needed alone time.
She performed ablution and picked up the sleeping, Arham. With him, she went to Arham's nursery room. She placed her baby in the cot.
After offering prayer, she was praying to her Lord. She was crying with soft sobs. She joined her hand in front.
"Ya Allah show mercy on me. In which test you have put me?" She hiccupped.
"Where..would..I go if what Sameer and...that girl said become true?" Then she looked at her baby.
"Ya Allah my baby is...so little and..innocent. Would..he live..without his father too? He will become an orphan...if his father turns out to be a criminal. Would..he pay the price of his father's crimes?" Then she broke into a great deal of sobs.
She managed 22 years of her life in an orphanage but who would accept her and her child?
She wanted a miracle but what kind of miracle? What miracle can prove Zain innocent and the other two people liars?
Because there was no way that Sameer would lie to her. And there is a high possibility that Zain would have tortured him and oppressed that girl, who claimed to be his wife.
She had decided to confront Zain in a cautionary way. She knew tha way by which truth could be flashed without uncovering Sameer and that girl.
She went inside her bedroom after sunrise. Zain was awakening.
"Yaar squirrel you did not wake me up?" he complained in a groggy voice. She silently looked at him with strange eye's emotion. A few moments later, their future would be decided.
After getting fresh they sat on the foot of the bed.
"Zain you want to talk about yesterday." She asked him. She wanted to talk about it too.
"Yes, my beautiful wife, yes. Indeed I want to know. People usually come delighted after meeting their friends. But you came with troubled mode. But you troubled us all too. Who does this? You know Arahm was crying too. Different possibilities were coming into my mind. But thank God you came fine. Now tell me what happened?" After his long lecture, he asked her.
Ayzel took a long breath and prepared herself.
"Zain..I met my friend after..a year. She..she was not fine." Her voice was shaking.
"What happened to her?" Zain asked her softly palming her face side.
"Her parents forcefully married her to a man for...some money. Later that...man turned out..to be an abuser. He used to beat my friend too much." Tears were flowing from her eyes.
"He and his family aborted her..unborn child because she was a baby girl." Ayzel sniffled. She was looking at Zain's face. It was still calm. He was listening to her with full attention.
"When she..tried to..report them..they tried to take her life." Ayzel's voice was getting shakier with every passing moment.
Zain's facial expression morphed into pity for that girl.
"Zain..my friend's name..is..is.." She was afraid of uttering the last part.
"is..Teh..Tehmina..Shah" Finally, she uttered it. But the next moment was not less than hell for her.
Zain's facial expression changed from pity to anger. A wave of indifference passed through his face.
His focus was not on Ayzel, now. But some hurtful memories flashed in his mind.
"Your friend had one ugly name." He gritted slowly. Then he sighed and pinched the bridge of his nose.
"I'm sorry love." But it was too late to apologize. He burned the bridge already.
"Squirrel, what had with your friend was truly a worse thing. I am sorry for her too. But what is done is done. Instead of mourning, she should strengthen herself. And you have a family too, your focus should be on it. If your friend needs any help, I am here." He squeezed her shoulder.
But she was turned stone-cold.
"Now stop bothering yourself with others' issues." He patted her cheeks and went outside the bedroom.
She lost.
She lost her love.
Chaos ran in the surroundings and about her? she turned mad.
Her beloved and darling have betrayed her. The betrayal has sliced her heart from the core and left her for nothing.
His expression was already predicted by that girl, Tehmina Shah.
She looked at her hands. The henna color was fainting. It would be the last henna of his name on her hand.
Her silent tears fell on her hands.
She felt, that tears were burning her hands.
Everything was burnt. Zain's one-action confirmed the accusation.
Later in the afternoon, Warda and Asma confirmed it too.
They were teasing Ayzel to have another baby.
"I just wish that Allah would give me a daughter next time. I will name her Tehmina." Ayzel intentionally said it to test the waters.
Both Women were frozen on hearing that. How could Ayzel utter that name?
"Ayzel, considering it this your mistake, I am ignoring it. Instead of naming your daughter this, you should not have the daughter in the first place. Don't you dare to say that name in front of my brother
He might send you there, where she is." Warda was pissed off badly.
"Warda!" Asam scolded her. Warda angrily stormed upstairs carrying Arham.
Asma thought if Ayzel had said that name, it meant that she was unaware of the history behind that name.
"Ayzel don't take her words seriously. There are many other beautiful girls' names. There is a thing about this name. I can't tell you. But please dear, never utter this name again ." Asma affectionately said that.
But Ayzel already knew the history behind that name. So Asma knew too. Of course, she did. After all, she was loyal servant of Skinders. Her son is also the faithful criminal dog of Zain Skidner. These thoughts poisoned Ayzel's mind.
"Asma Khala, being silent on the crime, it's also a crime whether you are involved in a crime or not," Ayzel told this Asma in a deadpan voice.
Leaving baffled Asma behind, she rushed out of the mansion. She could not breathe any longer with these criminals.
