Chapter 71

Ayzel was wandering on the roads. She knew her destiny but her path was lost. She was already feeling homeless or was she about to be homeless again? Was the shelter on her head guest of a few days?

With these thoughts, she went into a park. The afternoon sun was drowning into the evening sky like her heart was drowning in darkness.

She trusted Zain but she could not call Sameer a liar even if she could consider that girl a fraud. But her story was strong and much like that of Zain.

She could find a suitable balance to do justice between Zain's love and the accusations of these two people.

She could not pray for a miracle either. What miracle can prove Sameer a liar when Zain himself had tortured him?

That girl was the strong witness of Zain atrocities and never the less Ayzel too. Did not same force marriage on her too? Did not she see him beating the guys twice? Burhan had admitted too that they had links with the mafia.

Her mind was clouded with these thoughts and rain of tears and thunder of sobs started emerging from her.

She wanted to die at the moment. Because this death would be less painful as compared to the death that Zain's reality will give her.

"They are coming for you." An old voice startled Ayzel. She flinched very badly. She looked at the source of the voice.

It was an old woman, very old. Her hair was white completely. The face was full of wrinkles. Her wrinkled hand was wrapped in a rosemary. But her big eyes with a strange aura were staring deeply at Ayzel.

Ayzel was staring back at her with widened and shocked eyes.

"They are coming for you. They will separate you from your child too like they separated her from her child two decades ago. Enemies of the past will emerge." The old woman was speaking mysteriously. She was warning her. She was predicting a prophecy.

"Who..are you? What nonsense you are saying?" Ayzel asked her in a frightened tone.

"You will be suffered and burned. He is coming for you. They are coming for you." Was the old man predicting her future? How were "he" and "they" she was talking about?

"Who is coming for me!" Ayzel asked shaking the arm of that old woman.

"They are coming." The old woman again whispered in her hoarse voice.

Then she repeated it like a mantra and then went away saying, "They made you an orphan."

Lost in her trauma Ayzel did not realize when that woman left. She tried hard to find her but all in vain.

Was that "he" Zain?

Ayzel felt her heart in her throat.

She again started her aimless journey on the vast roads. She tried to come in front of a car, but the thought of her innocent baby stopped her from doing this.

So she only dusted the hits of deserted roads. But when her leftover stamina gave up she collapsed on the floor on her knees.

She screamed her helplessness at the open sky in frustration.

She was about to enter hell from heaven.

*********

At the mansion, there was another hell. It was half past nine. But there was no clue of Ayzel where she was.

The driver went back to the place where he dropped her. He asked and looked for her in all the nearby houses and places but she was not there either. Her phone was unreachable too.

The worried were eating Zain alive. Different scenarios were scaring him. The last time, when she disappeared like this, the reason was not good behind it.

But if something again happened to her? This thought was alone killing him.

He released his anger on the driver. Arham was crying too, but now he was sleeping after much effort.

Zain was about to leave for her search when she entered the house.

But her condition was not good. Her eyes were hollow and her face was pale. Her clothes were stained with dirt and mud.

Zain immediately rushed and hugged her. But she did not reciprocate his embrace.

He breathed in relief to find her alive.

"Ayzel where were you, my life? Are you fine? I can't tell you how worried I was. Arham was crying for you too." He cupped her face and showered his concerned questions.

But Ayzel was numb. Like a standing dead she was staring at his face.

He was tracing her sides to examine for any injury. Then he noticed her muddy clothes.

"Ayzel what happened? Tell me! Please. I would die. Please. Tell me you are fine." He begged her.

"Zain, please take me to the room." This time she begged. For one last time, she was asking for help from a tormentor and oppressor.

Zain immediately obliged her request. He carried her to the room and placed her on the bed. She was lying on the bed now. Zain covered her with the quilt.

He was softly creasing her forehead.

Anyone could see the purity of his love for her Ayzel in his eyes. But the web of hidden secrets was blinding the Ayzel at the moment.

She did not know she was on the webs within the webs of lie and betrayal.

"Never disappear like this again." Zain softly and kissed her forehead.

But she was about to disappear from his life forever.

"You need rest at the moment. But you will tell me what happened. We will talk about it. Hmm? Okay?" He instructed her softly.

She only blinked her eyes in response.

She was ready to talk but was she ready to hear or face the truth?

Zain continuously ran her fingers through her soft hair to lure her into a peaceful sleep.

But she did not sleep under his soothing touch. But the exhaustion and burden of today's event send her into sleep.

"I love you more than my life." The last words Zain spoke while she was going into the valley of half-death and could hear it.
