Chapter 66
For the last few days, Ayzel was in pain. Even taking a simple step was equivalent to mountain climbing. It was the support of Zain, through which she could take steps.
Zain felt bad for her. She was bearing this pain for his child. Though the child was her too. He could not do anything to bear her pain.
In the middle of the night, the sharp pain awakened her. Then she felt something wet running down her legs. Her water broke.
"ZAIN..." She called out loud his name. Zain's slumber broke down instantly.
"Zain.. It's time..hospital." She told him.
He immediately got up and took her to the car. Aliya Khanum came along with them.
Aliya Khanum was sitting in the backseat with Ayzel, coaxing her.
Ayzel's pain was intensifying with every passing moment. Zain was in the front seat.
"Arrrrggghhhh..." Ayzel screamed. Tears came in Zain's eyes. Aliya was saying sweet words to her. She was creasing her head, telling her to take deep breaths. Ayzel's face was full of sweat.
"Dadi...I..can't.." She begged Aliya Khanum.
"bsss...bsss..meray bachai. Meri Jaan. Bs thori dair aur. Do not lose your will." Aliya Khanum encouraged her.
(Just a little bit more my child.)
Finally, they reached the hospital. Her doctor was already there on Zain's call. Ayzel was taken to the delivery room immediately.
Both Zain and Aliya Khanum were frustratingly waiting outside the room. One hour passed but no news came. Aliya was reciting something on rosemary, praying for the well-being of both mother and child.
A nurse came outside but her face was telling them that something was not fine. Aliya stood up with Zain.
"Sister, how is my wife, my child?" He worriedly asked her in a single breath.
"Sir, your wife is not cooperating. She is scared. Please call her mother or any sister, close to her. We don't want to operate on her." The nurse requested them.
Zain looked at her grandmother for help.
"No, Zain. You should go inside. She trusts you more." Aliya squeezed his shoulder.
"Sister Can I?" He asked the nurse. She nodded. Zain wore the gown and went inside to her Ayzel.
He rushed to her and gripped her hand. "Zain...I can't...save us..I...can't.. I would...die" She was crying in pain.
"Shhh...Shhss..nothing would happen to you and our baby. Just some more pushes have strength. Everything will be fine." His words affected her.
The force by which she was crushing his hand, was enough proof of the pain, she was feeling right at the moment.
After the struggle one more hour, they finally heard the baby's cry.
"Congratulations, you are blessed with a baby boy." The doctor announced.
Ayzel was taking deep breaths of relief. Both she and Zain looked at each other with a smile of gratitude.
All her pain was gone on seeing her son. A cute, healthy baby boy with chubby cheeks. She cried on seeing her child.
"Congratulations, my squirrel. You became a mother." Zain kissed her forehead.
After the proper check-up, both the child and mother were shifted to the room. Aliya Khanum was on cloud nine when she held her great-grandson in her arms. A big Smile was not leaving her face.
She and Zain were sitting on the couch, cooing the baby.
With an exhausted self, Ayzel was looking at this harmonious scene.
Soon, Zikria and Burhan came. At that time, the baby was in his father's arms.
Zikria first moved to Ayzel and asked about her health. He affectionately creased her forehead and planted a soft kiss on her head. Two different fathers could be seen in the picture.
Burhan could only play with the child for five minutes, as her grandmother snatched the baby from him for herself. He wanted to play more.
Zain was sitting on the bed, beside her Azyel. He was creasing her hair softly.
"You did very well, my beautiful wife. I can't thank you enough. You gave me the second most precious thing in the world. " He kissed the back of her hand.
"And what is the first most precious thing in your life?" She meekly asked.
"Of course my daughter." Zain grinned. Ayzel could only laugh slowly.
Burhan was waiting for her turn to play with the baby when Warda rushed into the room. She was overwhelmed with emotions.
She took the baby from her grandmother. She was shedding happy tears.
"Bhai, he is so beautiful. My handsome nephew. Dad could be so happy to see him." Warda softly kissed the baby's face. Her words saddened a bit everyone. They all missed the baby's grandfather.
Zain missed her mother too. She would have danced in joy to see his little boy changing into a father.
"Bhai, thank god, he is your exact replica. His all handsome features are inherited from you, unlike someone else." Wards said the last part arrogantly.
Zain and Ayzel changed a meaningful smile. At least the Warada was accepting the child. After they have the same blood.
"Warda, it's enough. Now it's my turn." Poor Burhan cried out. Warda was not giving the baby to anyone. She had been playing with the baby, since the moment she came.
"Now just give a name to my grandson," Aliya said to Ayzel and Zain.
"Arham. Arham Zain skinder." Ayzel told the name she had decided. Zain let her decide on the name and strictly told her he would decide on the name of their daughter when she would born. They all loved the name.
Zikria held the baby and said Azaan in the baby's ears. Then he announced his name in his ear.
"Arahm. You are Arham Zain skinder," said Zikria.
Zain felt like the most blessed man in the entire world. He created a human being with her wife. A child having his name and continuing his legacy. He was a father now.
"Congratulations to you too, dear daddy." Ayzel congratulated him.
