Chapter 16: PLAN TO BE WITN HER AGAIN

“I miss you, baby. How are you?”

A message that Stephanie received. It’s from her step-father. She is longing for him for so long. But since the day she lost the baby, they didn’t talk to each other as lovers. It’s true that they are living under one roof but it’s not the same as before. They are like strangers.

“Why are you messaging me? Do you have something to say?” she answered and press send.

“I’m here watching you from a distance, baby. God knows how I long for you. Can we meet in other place, please?” A message once again popped up.

But she ignored. She read it but she didn’t open.

Meanwhile, he gets nervous when a minutes passed without receiving a reply.

“Please, baby. I’m going crazy now,” he murmured while looking back and forth to her in front of the grave of their son and to his phone.

But as the minutes passes, he lost the chance of talking to her. Because of Stephanie never open his messages. Still, he keeps on watching her from a distance.

“WHAT?! Are you sure of that, Sir? You want me to travel just to spy to your brother?!” Vernon asked in disbelief.

“Tsk! Tsk! What’s so surprising on that, Vernon? And besides, it’s not spying. I just want to know how he is right now. It’s been a while since e he came here all of sudden. But according to our men in Madrid, he travels most of his time,” Romnick explained.

Upon remembering his only family, he let go a deep sigh. He is worries of him. Most of the time since he admitted to him the truth about his illicit affair with his step-daughter. He has a woman in life but only one as a girlfriend. And it’s a normal for s man like him to have a woman in life.

“Sir? Are you okay? Ah, forgive me for my previous reaction. Don’t misunderstood my intention too. But is there’s a problem between you and Sir Ramil? Because if there’s nothing wrong, you will not send me there to know what’s happening to him.”

A voice of his friend and partner in business was heard. And makes him looked up to him.

“Actually, my twin brother is a pitiful man, Vernon. The main reason why I’m sending you to Madrid is to take a look to this certain woman. After that, we can make a judgement. And that’s all I can say for now,” Romnick said.

“Wait a minute, my friend. I’m getting curious by your words. Sir Ramil is a married man. And if I’m not mistaken, he has a step-daughter. So, who is this woman whom he is allegedly involved?” Vernon asked in confusing manner.

Who will not be confuse in a situation like that? All around the globe jas a case like that. But the case of his one master is so rare. They never heard any gossips against him. He is also a successful lawyer and belong to the Madrid Court team.

“Well, your questions will be answered by your own, Vernon. Like what I’ve said, go to Madrid as soon as possible and do an investigation to this woman. Here, that envelope contains your lead to this job. Free allowance and access to any part of Madrid. But remember, you need to be back here after two days.”

Instead, Romnick says as he handed the envelope that contains information about the woman she want to investigate. In his mind, he need to let his brother do the right thing to do.

HOLY CROSS CHURCH MADRID

Stephanie stayed there for almost two hours. After her confession, they do a lot of things like practicing in singing as they always do way back then. She helps them on their daily chores. But since that she is recovering from her miscarriage, she just did the light works.

MEANWHILE since that he doesn’t want to be his wife right at the moment, Ramil just followed Stephanie. From the cemetery to the Church of Holy Cross in their country.

“It’s been a while since I saw her came here. Am I that selfish not to send her in the kingdom of God?” he murmured while looking intently to them inside the church.

“Consequences? I’m fully aware of it, self. If my beloved Stephanie allowed me, it’s been long time that I divorce her mother and we are living as husband and wife legally. But because of her fears to her Mom, we are hiding. She is the reason why I’m still in this country despite the fact that I can go back home and work with my brother,” he smirked as he remembered their situation.

But then, as Stephanie stepped out of the church, he also fixed his mind as he drafted a solid ground for his next move for them.
