Chapter 67: A perfect Ending.

4 months later....

"You started without me." Lia remarked, sitting down on the seat looking offended.

Sebastian Reynolds smiled and held his hands up. "I'm sorry. It's just a cup of coffee, today has been a long day."

Lia sighed. "Tell me about it," as she spoke, she rubbed her belly and Sebastian smiled.

"How's the baby?" He asked, taking a sip of his coffee and she smiled, in the big way she always did whenever anyone asked about the baby.

"Growing stronger everyday. I think I felt a kick earlier today at the shop but I'm not sure."

Lia had opened a little coffee shop, BREW where she sold coffee and finger food. Fernando had been against it because of the baby but with a little push, she had been able to convince him. He sometimes helped her at the shop when he wasn't at the restaurant with Adam.

Sebastian nodded. "When is your due date again? Are you sure you should still be working there?"

Lia rolled her eyes and signaled to the waiter. "Dad, I'm pregnant not handicapped. I can manage just fine."

Sebastian's face lit up the way it always did whenever Lia called him Dad and she laughed, knowingly. After Janet had confessed and told Lia everything, she had sent Lia Sebastian's details for her to get in contact with him.

Sebastian had been shocked and surprised but happy to meet Lia. He had been super excited for the baby, his first grandchild, he said.

It shocked Lia that he was still single after her mother but she didn't ask. He did explain to her that he just never found anyone quite like her mother.

"Lia?" Sebastian touched her hand. "Hey baby, you okay?"

Lia sniffed, nodding. "Yeah, I'm fine." She turned to the waitress who was standing by their table. "Could I get water please?"

The waitress nodded and left and Sebastian frowned at her.

"What's wrong?" He asked, squeezing her hand lightly. "Are you in pain?" He rose to his feet and walked to her side.

Lia shook her head as more tears rolled down her cheeks. Sebastian squatted beside her and his eyes scanned her body, concern for her obvious in his eyes.

"Lia, baby I think we should go to the car."

Lia shook her head and cursed as more tears rolled down her cheeks anyway. "I'm fine, I swear I am." More tears rolled down, betraying her.

Sebastian shook his head. "No you're not." He stood up and tugged her hand. "Let's go Lia."

Lia tried to resist and changed her mind, rising to her feet. "Okay."

She let him lead her to the door and stopped when she spotted the waitress. "My water."

Sebastian grabbed the water from the waitress and slipped her a few bills. He opened the door and helped Lia out, his hands at her back.

"How much did you give her?" Lia asked, eyeing him and he shrugged.

"I don't know. I'm not concerned about that." He led her to the car and unlocked it with the remote, opening the back door for her. He helped her sit and squatted in front of her. "How do you feel?"

Lia sniffed. "I'm okay, I guess."

Sebastian narrowed his eyes. "Is this what people are calling fine these days? You look wrong."

"Well-" Lia chuckled, making him sigh. "I'm fine." She shook her head. "I'm not fine dad."

Sebastian's eyes grew soft. "Then what is the matter?"

"I'm not ready to forgive mum." She shook her head again, this time tears rolled down her cheeks. "It's just too hard, after everything she did."

"Well that's okay I mean no one is forcing you to." He pointed out, wondering what had made her bring it up.

"I thought of her as we were sitting down there,"

Sebastian's mouth formed an 'o' shape and he nodded. "Have you and Fernando been talking about it?" Because he never mentioned

"I haven't but he has, a lot actually." LIa scoffed, irritation glaring on her face and in her voice. "It's almost as if my fiancee wants his ex back."

Sebastian bit his lip to keep from laughing. That would only aggravate her more and he wanted her to remain calm no matter what. She had a right to be angry at Janet, hell he'd be surprised if she wasn't but he didn't want it stressing her.

"He keeps advocating for her to be forgiven as if he has forgotten all the things she did and all the lies she told. How could he forget that?"

"Fernando loves you Lia and if he is hammering on you forgiving your mother then it's probably because he wants you and your mother to find the closeness you both used to have."

Lia started to protest and then stopped. She sighed as more tears gathered on her face. "Do you really think so?"

Sebastian nodded, rising to his feet but not letting go of her hand. "But don't feel pressured to work things out with her, it's your choice who you let back into your life."

Lia thought about it for a second. "It's just too hard right now to think about her."

"And that's okay." Sebastian patted her hand, a smile on his face. "You should only do you."

Lia winced as she leaned up. "I want to go home."

Sebastian nodded. "Okay, whatever you want. Are you sure you feel okay? I can get you to the hospital if you want."

"No, I'm okay." She assured him, wincing a few more times.

"We're going to the hospital," he announced as he helped her sit straight in the back and closed the door.

He got in through the front and started the car, joining the traffic on the main street. For someone whose daughter was obviously in pain, Sebastian drove pretty normal, keeping to the speed limit.

Doctor Baymont smiled as she walked into the room. Sebastian stopped his pacing and stared at her.

"Doc," he greeted trying to ease some of the tension he was feeling.

"Mr Reynolds," They shook hands and Lia frowned, accessing the situation.

Were they flirting perhaps?

Sebastian sighed. "How is she doing? I knew she shouldn't have gone to work today, it's too dangerous with her due date just around the corner."

"Your daughter is a strong independent woman. She has been taking care of herself pretty well since this journey began so if she says she's okay, then you should trust her."

"She's right here." Lia announced and Sebastian rolled his eyes, turning to face her. He held her hand in his and squeezed.

"So, how is she Doc?" Sebastian's expression turned serious. "Is it bad?"

Doctor Baymont shook her head. "No Mr Reynolds, your daughter has just been experiencing what we call false labour or early labor."

"Is it bad?"

"Dad!" Lia yelled, swatting his arm.

Doctor Baymont chuckled. It was refreshing to see a man so concerned about his child's wellbeing. "No Mr Reynolds, it's actually good."

Sebastian frowned. "How is my daughter in pain?"

Lia sighed and stared at the doctor. "I'm sorry, he is just worried about me."

She shook her head. "It's not a problem. It is wonderful to see how much he cares." She turned to face Sebastian again. "Mr Reynolds.."

"Call me Sebastian."

"Mr Sebastian," Dr. Baymont said and Lia laughed, biting her lip when her father glared at her.

"Please call me Sebastian, just Sebastien."

"Sebastian, your daughter's condition is normal in pregnancy. The early labor or false labor just shows that the baby is ready to come out."

"Like right now?" Sebastian's eyes grew wide in shock.

"Not right now but soon. Could be tomorrow or a few days' time but each pregnancy is different so..."

Lia sighed, rubbing her belly. "Well it has to come before the wedding or at least after it. I don't want to have my ceremony at the hospital in a hospital gown."

Sebastian shook his head and leaned down to kiss her forehead. "That won't happen."

"Congratulations." Baymont said and Lia nodded.

"Thanks. Everything is happening so fast and I can't believe it."

Dr. Baymont laughed, reaching for Lia's hand. "Well, at least enjoy it. Maybe after everything you will understand but don't let the moment waste, savor every second."

"Oh I plan to." Lia tried to get off the bed but Sebastian stopped her. "What are you doing dad? I'm trying to get up."

"I can see that." He spat. "I'm just trying to help you so you don't trip."

Dr. Baymont stood there watching the exchange, tears gathering in her eyes.

"I'm pregnant, Dad, not handicapped. I can do these things."

Sebastian shook his head as he knelt to set her slippers in front of her. "I love helping you with things, it makes me feel that you're okay."

Lia sighed and pulled him up, hugging him tight. Dr Baymont looked away, wiping her cheeks clean. "I love you Dad, I love you too princess."
