Chapter 128: Mistaken for Jett

Chapter 128

Jason’s POV

I slowly pulled away, my gaze drifting down as I took all of her in.

“Oh—uh. I apologize for my clumsiness,” she blurted out.

“Oh no, it’s fine,” I said, surprisingly calmer than I would be in a situation like this.

I could tell by the way she was dipping her head in a gesture of respect and apology that she recognized me instantly and was probably afraid that I’d lash out or do something to her.

She waited a few more seconds, like she wanted to see if I’d say anything else, and then she dipped her head in a small nod before turning to walk away. But I immediately stopped her.

She was more beautiful than some of the young girls I saw working here, and besides the meeting and maybe a little paperwork, I didn’t think I’d have much to do in this place. “Meet me in my office at noon,” I said, my tone firm.

Actually it was Jett’s office, but everyone thought I was him at the moment, so why would I ruin all of this by calling it his office?

She looked surprised for a moment, but then she nodded and turned around before making her way down the hallway.

So I went to my office and waited while I dealt with the necessary things that came my way. Before I knew it, it was noon. And just as if she’d been waiting at my door, a knock echoed from the other side.

“Come in.”

At the sound of my voice, she slipped into the office, shutting the door behind her. “How can I help you, sir?”

I stared at her for a while, taking in her flowery dress and dark hair. Then, I tapped lightly towards the chair across from me, gesturing for her to sit there.

And once again, she looked surprised and equally confused as she made her way to the chair. “What’s your name?” I asked, after I let the silence settle between us for a few seconds.

“Annica…” she answered, some of her uneasiness slipping away, when she started piecing together that she might not be in any kind of trouble.

We began talking, and she told me how she was working in the labor and charity department. She also gave me a heads-up about everything that had been going on in the office. And I was one step closer to proving to these people that I was a better choice than Jett would ever be.

I was a bit surprised when she filled me in on everything, though. I knew my mother was hardworking, but the workers had still been getting paid for two years after she was gone, and yet the shareholders hadn’t used their own money either.

That’s insane work. I thought, leaning back in my chair.

Annica picked up on the absentminded gesture. “What?” she asked, her eyes trailing over me, lingering longer than it was supposed to.

“Oh no, nothing.” I sat straighter, swaying in my chair, before I leaned forward a bit, showing her that I was very much interested in this conversation. In her. Well, because of one thing, of course. “What about you? How are you doing?”

A small smile tugged her lips as she looked me up and down again, her voice taking on a deeper, sultry tone. “You want to know how I’m doing?”

"Yes." I let my hand wander off on the table, moving slowly toward hers on the other side. I kept them close enough to feel the slight tingling but left enough distance between them that they couldn’t touch. I wanted to tease her. “Let’s stop talking about work now; let’s talk about you.”

"Well, I’m doing fine,” she drawled, and I was wondering why when I felt her feet trail up my leg, sending jolts through me and straight to my cock. “Just work stress and all that kind of nonsense.”

“Hhmm…” My hum deepened into a growl as I felt her feet nearing the little man between my legs, and it was then that I realized we couldn’t do this here.

I got up quickly, rounding the table, and before she could even question it, I took her with me—not that she had any choice in the matter. Technically speaking, she was the one who touched me first.

I drove to one of the nearest hotels, and it took me everything I had not to stop the car right there and let her bounce on my cock as much as she wanted.

We hadn’t fully gotten into the room before we started kissing, and fuck, this was just what I needed.

I pushed Annica through the door, my lips still devouring hers as I pinned her to the wall with one hand and closed the door with another.

I don’t know if the sound of the door closing did something to her, but as soon as she heard it, she completely took over, pushing me towards the bed before reluctantly pulling away from the kiss—I guess we were both just two horny bastards.

Then, she slowly lowered to her knees, her eyes still on me, as she undid my belt, deliberately grazing my groin with her fingers. Her gaze never left mine, even for a second. And even when she took me in her nice, wet lips, I was the one who tore my eyes away.

My head tipped back, my eyes rolling with pleasure as I slid my fingers into the back of her head, taking back my control. It was a fight of control between us both, which was surprising as we had just met.

But it seemed none of that even mattered at all. Because the sex was so fucking good. I don’t even remember how long we kept going—probably until I couldn’t even move anymore.

The last thing I remembered was holding someone right next to me as I fell asleep, but when I woke up, there was no one else in the room.

Not in the bathroom, not anywhere.

Since none of my things were stolen, I decided to let it go. If it came to it, I could always find her again at the company. So with that thought, I began heading back home.

And if it wasn’t for the fact that I’d already gotten a reasonable amount of sleep before coming home, I wouldn’t have even listened to the stupid questions Father threw at me as I walked into the house.

“And where are you coming from dressed like that?” I stopped in my tracks, fighting the urge to drag a hand down my face. Then, I settled for a pinch on my nose bridge.

“I went to the office,” I answered in a huff.

“And who did you tell before going to this office?”

"Dad, please, I don’t have the energy for this.”

“Why did you join the board meeting as Jett?” he asked, this time going straight to the point.

I turned toward him, not bothering to mask my irritation. I knew exactly what I was doing when I went to that meeting.

I wanted to be mistaken for my brother; I wanted people to think I was him. And it worked perfectly, as only a handful of people could differentiate between Jett and me.

Father carried on, “Is this what you had in mind when you said I was going to find out soon yesterday?”

Oh fucking hell no.
