Chapter 186: What Are You Thinking About?

On the second Saturday of November, she could finally be discharged from the hospital.

The ones who came to pick up Ophelia were Freya and Terry. Originally, Freya wanted to come alone, but Timothy thought that since she was pregnant, driving wouldn't be convenient, so he had Terry come along with her to pick up Ophelia.

On the way back to Eagle Crest Estates, the two couldn't help but bring up William.

"William seems really anxious. When he heard you were being discharged today, he had someone deliver the divorce papers he'd prepared to Eagle Crest Estates. This time, he's really determined to divorce you," Freya said.

Ophelia smiled faintly as she turned to look at the scenery outside the window.

"He won't be able to."

Seeing Ophelia so confident, Freya felt relieved too.

"Good that you know what you're doing."

Ophelia glanced at Terry, who was driving up front, and asked, "Did you really prepare those divorce papers?"

Terry nodded and answered honestly, "It wasn't prepared that early. Just last night, when we heard you were being discharged today, we rushed to put it together overnight."

Ophelia didn't say anything more.

After dropping Ophelia off at home, the two left.

Having stayed in the hospital for so long, even though she could shower every day, it still wasn't as comfortable as being at home. After getting home, Ophelia took a nice, long bath and changed into clean clothes. At 5:30 in the afternoon, she headed to Vanguard Hospital right on time with food.

At the door of William's hospital room, Ophelia unexpectedly ran into Mia. She was a bit puzzled - why would Mia be here?

After William returned to the White family, Mia, as Robert's legal wife, had never liked William. For her to come to the hospital now, she definitely wasn't here to visit William.

Worried that Mia might harm William, Ophelia quickly walked over. Before she could speak, she heard harsh cursing coming from inside the room.

"What are you still pretending for? You think you're still the same William as before? You can't do anything now, and you still hope that transferring to this hospital will help you stand up again? Let me tell you, it's impossible. Everyone's lying to you."

"This is what you deserve. Who told your mother to be a homewrecker back then, and still wants to fight me for the family fortune? She should look at what she really is."

"I also heard you forgot about Ophelia. That's perfect - since you've already forgotten, just divorce her quickly. The way you are now, you'll only drag her down. You're not trying to use pity to keep her by your side, are you? That's so shameless of you."

Ophelia recognized the voice immediately - it was Benjamin.

Ophelia turned to look at Mia, her tone cold. "You came here today just to humiliate him?"

Mia's attitude toward Ophelia wasn't friendly, but this time her tone was relatively calm. With William now paralyzed in bed, Benjamin had become the only heir to the White family. Of course, she was happy and even looked at Ophelia more favorably.

"Benjamin is just stating facts. Tell me, which part of what he said was wrong?"

Ophelia smiled coldly. Without explaining anything, she pushed the door open and went in. She walked quickly up to Benjamin and slapped him across the face without hesitation.

"Your mother says no one disciplined you when you were young."

Mia followed her in, eyes wide, clearly not expecting Ophelia to publicly criticize her like this. Just as Mia was about to explain, Ophelia had already pushed both her and Benjamin out of the room and locked the door.

Only then did the two outside realize what happened. They tried to push the door open but couldn't. Benjamin flushed with anger outside, couldn't fathom why Ophelia had hit him.

Mia said coldly, "I told you not to come, but you insisted on coming here to get humiliated."

Benjamin covered his face and explained in a low voice, "I just wanted to completely break William's spirit and make him give up. Didn't you hear me say all those awful things just now, and he didn't argue back once? Ophelia, that's just her temper."

Seeing Benjamin still defending Ophelia, Mia was furious.

"What are you thinking? If you've really let go of Ophelia, why didn't you try to stop the divorce back then? Are you like your father, changing your mind after a short time?"

At this point, Mia looked disgusted. Although this hadn't happened to her, she instinctively hated this kind of wishy-washy behavior.

"I'll handle my own affairs."

Mia clearly didn't believe him.

"If you could really handle it, would I need to worry? What are you going to do about the Johnson family? Are you still planning to marry her? You're closest to that position now - don't be stupid at this critical moment."

Her husband was unreliable, and Mia didn't want Benjamin to repeat the same mistakes. She had endured for so many years just so Benjamin could take over the White Group.

Benjamin felt irritated, but knowing Mia meant well, he didn't talk back.

Ophelia leaned against the door, looking at William lying in bed with an expressionless face.

"He cursed at you like that just now, and you had no reaction at all?"

William's expression was indifferent - this was his most common look since being hospitalized.

"Wasn't he stating facts? Besides, he was so obviously trying to provoke me on purpose. I'm not an idiot - why would I fall for it?"

Before Ophelia could speak, there was another knock at the door. Thinking it was the mother and son again, she looked through the small window and discovered it was Tommy.

Tommy had barely had a moment's peace this past month, but the further along it went, the more frustrated he felt.

Originally, he had planned to take advantage of William's hospitalization and team up with Vanguard Technologies Ltd. to bring down Winters Electronic Corp. Now he'd given up on the acquisition and just wanted to grab Winters Electronic Corp.'s market share.

But William wasn't easy to deal with. After the last electronics technology competition, he'd already prepared.

Starting with Tommy's cheating incident, Synergy Innovations Group kept making a big deal out of it, with negative news flooding everywhere. Tommy spent a lot of money, but still couldn't suppress it - basically, he spent the money but didn't solve the problem.

What was worse, while Tommy was busy handling the negative publicity, William turned around and started eating away at Vanguard Technologies Ltd.'s market share. When he went to investigate, he discovered William had already arranged everything over a month ago.
