CHAPTER FIFTY TWO

Adam decided looking for her in broad daylight would be better since he wanted to have a full glimpse of her in her worried state. He was utterly confused as to why she ran away. The thought of her running away taunted him till he fell asleep thinking of her legs the way they moved quickly and eagerly.

He wished he was able to get her before she ran off that way he would apologize for completely ignoring her for some days but she had not given him the opportunity to explain him himself, he was still searching for her in the night when he decided at the early hours of the morning to take a little rest, he rushed back to his home to take a little rest, as he laid back on the well laid bed he couldn’t help but wonder the mistake he made by agreeing irrationally to a marriage he knew wouldn’t last.

He had no feelings whatsoever for Xana and there was nothing either him not Xana could do about it, the chirping of the birds made him awake, he could see daylight making its way into his comfortable room, the light made the room well lit like there were illumination from above, he hadn’t had enough rest but he knew he needed to get to work.

He stood up from bed glad that he was finally going to get her as he raised his head up high, the chirping of the birds were becoming more intense and he wondered if the birds would gladly lead him to where Sarah was but they obviously couldn’t hear him.

He replaced his old clothes with new ones after having a thorough bath. The way he felt couldn’t be explained by mere words as he hastened to get through with finding her. He reached for the little backpack he had come with to retrieve some items he may need for the search, with everything in place.

He hurriedly left the house scampering the whole area looking for Sarah, he was completely unsure about her whereabouts as he walked through the fish pond that was beside the home, it was a long time since he last visited and he couldn’t remember everything at all, he had told his neighbors to help in feeding the fishes but he knew they must eaten all of it and got tired of feeding them, it was a hard job feeding oneself and feeding an animal, he thought as he passed through the side before he noticed no one was living in the house again, it was mortgaged.

The longer he searched, the worry to ensure she still had her faith in him even though they had fallen apart, the sound of the birds brought him back to his environment, the only thing he wanted was keep searching for her and something deep down had told him that he would find her soon, he was completely optimistic, she couldn’t go far and she was badly injured, she wouldn’t be able to go too far, he thought. He reached back to his truck to drive instead of walking, he knew he was going to drive slowly so what he had to do was drive at the lowest point till he found something.

Sam did know his actions would turn things around, he was absolutely sitting on the fence, everything had happened so fast and he couldn’t understand why he formed an alliance with his father to fight off the Colven Pack, and afterwards rescued Alisha and her brother, Adam.

The only reason he joined forces with his father was because his father had threatened to behead if he went against his wishes. He was completely thrown apart as he tried to find a direct way to face the situation. He couldn’t deny the fact that he loved Alisha terribly and he wanted everything back again, he wanted the love they both shared, late night discussions and sneak outs.

He knew he needed to say something to her maybe find a way to really apologize for everything because the locket cause every single thing they went through; from the locket to the accusations, to the alliance, to the fight between the two packs, to the rescue of Alisha and Adam to the silence that had befallen them.

As he thought about the event he knew he had to text her maybe send her an apology letter to her telling her he still loved her and wanted things to be back to normal, the only thing he needed was a way to get to her, as he sat on the chair, he stood just immediately, moved to the edge of the window and send her a text.

She was in a good position to get angry but he deserved to be heard out before conclusion, the first he wanted to do was send a message to her, as he sear he’d for his phone, he brings it close to him and sends a message to her,

“Can we meet, Alisha? We really need to talk.” After which he punched the screen and sent the message to her. After the whole incident, they never talked about it or tried to hear each other’s side of the story, what was funny was that the only thing he did wrong was mistakenly dropping the locket and the rumors that went by with it, he was glad that he was able to defeat his negative thoughts and hopes that she responds to his message, the sooner they settled the issue the better for his heart that never stopped beating and yearning for her.

He laid on his bed wondering how it would feel if he told her he wanted them to elope to go far away from the rest of the world, he wanted them to start afresh and live happily, as he thought of it, he wondered if Alisha would agree to the proposition since she was the one who had an alpha brother who was a fierce man. He remembered bumping into Adam some weeks back, he grunted and let out a smile that didn’t reach the top of his mouth let alone his face.

He was waited for a response from Alisha but nothing came in ten minutes and he kept on waiting, any reply she would give will determine his next step so he wanted to sit still and wait further to give a reply, just a reply, any reply to make him feel like she still had him in mind and their love was bumping.

He waited for thirty minutes before his phone finally beeped and he silently hoped it was Alisha, not the call center messages that seemed to fill up his space. As he looked at the message, it was Alisha and she had replied with: “Sure, Sam, where do you want us to meet? Are we seeing each other in private or what?"

He wondered why she used the tone on him. It was a mockery of telling him he wasn’t man enough to make her known publicly and another way, it could mean, they had been seeing each other in private all the time, was there anything different from that. He waved off the thoughts of the two ideas that played in his head as a result of Alisha’s text. He had not expected the reply to come in that way, but was glad she replied. Every bit of anger she had towards him would surely die down in the evening.

“Meet at the lavender tree at 5pm.”

Everyone knew where the lavender tree was situated, but Sam was testing himself to know how far he could go in the war he had started, it was forbidden for them to be seen together not after the troubles they caused in the killings of pack members and house slaves . There was nothing he could do other than escape. His father was slowly turning into a demon; he had to tell Alisha about their elopement plan but he had not known how she would reply to his plans, but he knew deep down that if they had went through with their plans the last time, they would have been somewhere in the world living their best lives without interference.

The more he thought about the fact that there was absolutely nothing they could do about their love the better for everybody else, he slept for some time before jumping quickly out of his bed moving towards the bathroom, he got into the bathroom in some minutes and did his thing quickly before reaching for his navy blue polo and jeans trousers, he combed the hair on his head and arranged it properly in such a way that he looked impeccable and unable to resist. It was still Alisha he was going to see, his Alisha, the one that had captured his heart in a way no one else had.

Soon he was outside waiting for Alisha at the lavender trees; he knew she loved lavender and he couldn’t help but notice the beautiful yellow dress she wore, her hips were equal and large, her oval shaped breast stood properly in the dress that brought out her feature in its full form, she was glowing and he was glad she agreed to meet with him. As she approached him, he smiled with joy and waited for her to come close before embracing her into his arms. At this moment he didn’t want to break free, nothing else mattered except the hug he just received and that made him entirely whole.

“You look beautiful as always,” Sam said.

“Thank you,” she replied before utterly flying into her most gracious smile.

“I know we have a lot to discuss but we can’t just stand out here and speak. Where do you suggest, Alisha?"

“Sam, I have no issues with us discussing in the car. I know you are trying to make it open but can we just continue the old way while you explain things to me.”

“Fine,” he said, totally surrendering.

They finally walked back to the car. He held open the passenger seat for her and turned around to sit in the driver's seat. The explanation had to start from the beginning, so he had to start from the very beginning.

“Alisha, I know this may seem weird but the locket was found in my possession and trailed with you, which was why you were kidnapped, my father had threatened to behead me that was why I went with his will to fight your pack. I couldn’t hold back myself as I thought about the dangers in your eyes that was why I rushed to rescue you, I didn’t want anything to happen to you. It’s been a very terrible experience and I hope you actually believe my intentions are not ruled by bad spirit. I am so sorry for the stress input you through, I truly love you and I am so sorry for everything," he said.

“Its fine, Sam. I am here with you today because I thought about everything and I knew you wouldn’t want me harmed except you were falsely pressured by your father. I forgive you, Sam. Of course I love you!”

“Thank you, Alisha.” They kissed deeply before he finally brought himself back to the question of the day.

“Uhm, babe, I was thinking we should go on with the elopement plan as fast as possible,” he said and saw excitement written on her face.

“Tonight?” she said before laughing out loud.

“Tomorrow, if possible,” he replied and he could see her grinning uncontrollably.

The next day, Sam fled off together with Alisha, when Earl heard about the news, he was enraged that his son could go against him, one of the guards had told him that Sam had rescued Alisha and Adam when they were kept imprisoned. Earl vowed to kill his son if he ever laid eyes on him.

Kira was in her room when she heard a bang on her door. The bang was extremely fierce as she thought she had been invaded. The part that triggered her was that the bang was getting continuous and there was nothing she could do.

She wanted to call for emergency since the person at the other end kept bagging the door, she was getting scared as no one had banged her car fiercely like that and she was in utter shock and unhappy that the situation was getting intense, the only things she feared was robbers and those scavengers who tried to eat from humans.

She wanted to yell at the door but she decide to keep mute waiting for the person to get tired and leave but the person didn’t show signs of leaving yet, she was shocked when the bangs increased harder, as she opened the door her eyes came in contact with the same woman that had tried to kill her some months back, she never imagined she would be standing outside her house in broad daylight not after the hurdles Sarah caused her that night, the night still played vividly in her memory and she couldn’t help but wonder how she had managed to stay alive all these while.

Kira had heard the news about her latest ordeals and the fight at the jungle but she was not in total shock as she had seen the Sarah’s action playing out in different forms, there was nothing she could so asides ask her what she was looking for and who she was looking for because it most definitely won’t be her. As she fixed her eyes on the woman before her, she felt her mouth move like she was hungry but she wouldn’t let him in.

“Hello,” Sarah said

“Hello, what do you want?” Kira replied

“Uhm, can I come in? Sarah asked knowing there was no way Kira would ask her to come in without thinking she was here to eat her. Before Kira could reply, Sarah had already walked in.

“I promise I am not going to eat you,” Sarah said

“I just need a favor from you,” she added

“I was about to say no when you walked in without permission. Please leave, I don’t was at you in my house,” Kira said

“I promise, I am not going to hurt you, I just need a favor from you” Can I stay here for some time,” Sarah begged with her eyes.

“Do you need a favor from me? A Favor? I am afraid I have no favor to offer. Can you leave now? Leave! “She yelled. “Leave, at once!”

Sarah was almost at the door begging when she said, “Please!” Sarah never said please, but because it was a matter of life and death, she had to say please to get the attention she wanted from Kira and maybe she might let her stay in for some days.

Kira knew how unsafe it was out there and the troubles the young woman had been through, she looked into her pleading eyes and thought of the sympathy she felt for her even as she was on the run. There was no possible way she would leave her out there, the only thing was she wouldn’t stay for too long because she could pose an impending danger and Kira didn’t want that kind of situation in her life,’ add she searched her eyes, she could have sincerity in her hearts.

“Fine, you may come in but you can only stay for a day, that’s the only thing I can offer, “Kira said, seeming very enthusiastic to learn.

“Thank you,” Sarah said, very glad that Kira finally allowed her in because how was she going to go back and face Adam after running off from him and coming here.
