Chapter 51

Amelia dropped the bowl she was holding on the table beside her and looked at Richard with Xander strangely. "You said you were here with Bethany. I don't understand."

Richard and Xander gave each other glances. "It's a long story," Richard answered.

"Then make it short." Amelia persuaded with a serious gaze, mixed with curiosity.

Richard sighed. "Well, um..." He trailed wondering how to arrange it.

"The thing is Bethany is no longer human. Things happened that you don't know about. Bethany didn't really leave as Finn told you, she was changing and we were helping her. Very long story." Xander rambled hoping she understood.

Amelia nodded. "Well, there were so many things I didn't know about."

They both nodded with lowered gazes.

"Ok, so why didn't I see Bethany? I decided to look for you guys with the help of my new friend, Katherine. I wanted to know where you are or try to connect with you guys cause I need help. Luckily, she knows Richard and was able to track you guys." Amelia laid out.

Richard frowned. "She knows me? Who's she?"

"Katherine Melrovia."

Richard's brow stretched and he blinked. "Oh. She helped you guys?"

Amelia nodded. "Yeah."

"Who's she?" Xander asked.

Richard glanced at him. "A friend from childhood."

"So back to Bethany. What happened to you guys? How did you even know how or where to find me cause I was surprised when I saw you guys already arrived at the main city like Katherine called it." Amelia questioned.

"We found out you guys were in danger so we came back. We used a tracking spell belonging to you to know where to find you." Richard answered.

"What about Stephanie?"

"She and Julian stayed back. Macy is working 'cause it turns out Stephanie is a werewolf and she's connected with you, do you feel the connection?" Richard questioned.

Amelia frowned. "Connection? What connection?"

Xander nodded. "Guess you don't feel it 'cause your powers aren't unlocked yet, unlike Stephanie."

Amelia looked at both of them, completely confused. Her powers? Does she have any powers?

And Stephanie, a werewolf?

Everything was still too much for her to grab and more are still incoming.

"So what happened with you guys? You were both unconscious." Amelia made it known.

Richard shook his head, wanting to think about it. "I don't know. We were on our way, happy we have arrived at the border, prepared in case of any random attack then I woke up here. Though I know something happened."

Xander nodded in agreement. "I sensed something too. Just don't know what. Although I saw when Bethany and Richard were hit by a dart at the same time, it was like a flash and when I turned, blackout for me but I could swear I saw something, just don't know what."

Amelia sighed and shook her head. "Can't believe it. Bethany is missing, Finn or rather Luc is nowhere to be found."

Richard furrowed his brows. "What?"

"He left for the past five days. Never came back." Amelia said sadly.

"Why?" Xander asked. "What really happened to you guys?"

"We were caught by a witch. She did things to him, to us..." Amelia lowered her gaze remembering it. "Told me some sick truth, made me stab Finn..."

Richard and Xander were looking at her in confusion. The stab part got them befuddled, but they decided to let her keep talking.

"Finn, he doesn't remember me anymore. That Lisa witch..." Amelia voiced out in anger since she was already developing hatred toward Lisa. "She did something to me, made me do what I didn't want to do and then Finn forgot who I am. I discovered his name wasn't even Finn."

"And they just let you guys go?" Xander asked.

Amelia nodded. "Yes. That was how Katherine found us. Since he woke up, he left. Katherine said they're rumors of him causing havoc on...the...werewolf king allies."

Richard sighed, taking it all in. "Wow. This was neatly planned. They brought Finn back to his old self."

"A self where he hasn't found love and the ticket back to his throne," Xander added. "Very neatly planned but could also bite them back. Make things more difficult for Logan."

"It won't be a surprise that Lisa is already cooking something up to stop him," Richard stated.

Amelia's jaw tightened. "That Lisa. I hate her. How could she have the power to mess with people's lives? If only I could make her pay for what she has done..." She trailed off, exhaling deeply.

Somehow something clicked when Richard talked about abilities. She foresaw this whole thing. She's been seeing what will happen but never understood it.

And then when it happened, it wasn't all too new for her.

But that's a story for another day.

Richard nodded. "Truly, she's the problem. Without her, Logan wouldn't have succeeded over Luc. We're gonna have to get her." Richard affirmed.

The door opened and they all looked. Richard and Katherine's gaze locked, her mouth was gaped open as she walked toward them. "You're awake."

"And I thought you are on the king's side. Your family chose to follow Logan. Don't think we're safe with you, don't trust you."

Katherine nodded. "I understand, but you know me, Richard. I followed without choice, unlike you. Your family was always with Luc. If your dad decided to follow Luc's enemies, I don't think you would have had a choice. Your brother made his choice too, but I couldn't. I only have my grams."

"So, you're saying you've always been on the side of Luc?" Richard asked.

Katherine nodded. "Just waiting for the right time and thanks to someone, I was able to help."

"Who?" Richard asked.

"Meredith. Logan's sister. She didn't know things were happening at first until she saw Amelia and Luc being dragged outside, that was when she informed me and I came out. She's on the side of Luc since she doesn't condone her family's ruling and she gave me new information too."

"And what is that?" Katherine asked.

"She thinks you guys have a spy around you."
