Chapter 117: A vampire's mate
Kalia literally slept like a baby, she was so happy she had that conversation with her mom and she felt even more happy with how well her mom reassured her.
She never actually thought she could get such reassurance from her mom, not until tonight.
It was still very early hours of the morning when she began hearing something hit o her window repeatedly.
The noise slowly woke her from her sleep and she turned on the side lamp, only for her to see a man standing outside her window, and the bunny hitting the window like it was trying to get out.
She screamed and fell off her bed but when she finally gathered the courage to look back up to see his face clearly, he was nowhere to be found.
Her door slammed open, startling her even more.
“We heard you scream from our room.”
Kael said as he walked in with Hazel.
Kalia turned back to the window and looked at her dad.
“I saw someone staring into my room from my window.”
Kael immediately turned to the window and without hesitating, he rushed to the window to see if there was anyone there.
When he opened the window, a heavy wind entered the room, causing Kael to shiver for some reason.
Hazel noticed and moved close, wrapping her hand around her shoulder and rubbing her arm to ease her shivering body.
After Kael was sure there was no one there, he closed the window.
“Did you see the person's face?”
Kalia shook her head.
“I… I might have been mistaken.”
Kael nodded as that was a possibility. She probably saw her reflection and assumed it was someone since her eyes were still very heavy.
“I will have guards stay outside your room just in case okay?”
She nodded.
“Thank you.”
He moved closer and kissed her on her forehead before they left.
She still felt a bit scared, she just said she was mistaken to make them leave but deep down, she was sure she saw someone.
She suddenly remembered the bunny.
She began looking everywhere.
“Pink?”
She called out as she was yet to give it a proper name.
She kept calling quietly as she headed to the bathroom.
“Pink, are you in here?”
As soon as she got into the bathroom, she saw a man holding the bunny.
His hair was wet, she couldn't clearly see his face as he was looking at the bunny in his arms and rubbing its fur.
When he raised his head, she moved back I fear.
She was so frightening and what made it worse was that she could not even bring herself to scream.
“Pink? Really? You couldn't give her a prettier name?”
His voice sounded as handsome as he was.
Kalia was never one to assess guys as they all just generally looked like shit to her, but this one looked like he had fallen directly from the heavens.
He looked like a creature that had beautiful wings she just wasn't seeing.
His eyes looked a bit too red to be normal, but he had a well-structured face.
His hair fell to his shoulders, it was long and a little bit curly.
He was about two heads taller than she was, and for her age, she was definitely not too short.
He began moving closer, and she moved backwards.
She tried to open the door to the bathroom, but it was not cooperating with her.
“You looked pretty on your eighteenth birthday.”
She couldn't help but look at his eyes. Those red eyes that looked like they could suck every ounce of blood out of her body.
She remembered him, he was the shadow she had seen at a distance on her birthday, she was certain about it.
“Who… who are you, what do you want?”
“Me?”
He looked down at the bunny.
“I simply came for my meal.”
Before she could even think of asking what he meant, he dug his teeth into the bunny and began sucking its blood.
“No…”
She wanted to yell, she wanted so badly to move, but she couldn't. She wasn't sure if it was the fear of knowing she was standing face to face with a vampire, or if she was under some sort of spell.
Tears fell from her eyes as she watched him keep sucking out of the bunny.
But then, he soon stopped and gently dropped the bunny.
The bunny didn't move for a moment and Kalia got so scared.
The moment she forced her leg to move, the bunny began moving again.
Kalia noticed her pink fur had become even more pink but she couldn't even bring herself to be amazed.
She looked at the man who was wiping his lips like he had not just almost killed a poor animal.
He raised his eyes and looked at her.
“Do you have something to say?”
Her eyes flickered, she was so angry at how silent she was.
She should be yelling at him right now, but she nothing was coming out.
He moved towards her and bent a bit, his eyes searching her and after a while he smiled.
“It is you.”
She swallowed but looked at him confused.
She had no idea what he was talking about.
“Of all places, my mate decided to be a werewolf princess.”
He said as he stood back properly.
Kalia's heart was beating so fast.
'What does he mean by that?'
“It means that you… are the mate of a vampire.”
She smirked at her and she blinked severally.
“You're lying.”
He raised a brow and looked at her, surprised.
“You spoke.”
She didn't say anything else.
“I'm impressed, you broke out of my spell on your own.”
Now, she understood why she could not bring herself to speak or move no matter how hard she tried.
“Pretty and powerful, not too bad for a werewolf.”
She sounded offended by his words and he smiled, seeing how all of her emotions showed on her face.
“Get out.”
He raised his hands like he was surrendering and moved back.
“I'll leave, but… I will definitely be back little… princess.”
