Chapter 105: The end for a new beginning: end of vol 1
Kael turned to her even more surprised than Miguel and Dona.
“Is it because of what they said outside? They might be wrong.”
Hazel shook her head.
“I can actually feel it Kael,”
She turned to him, her heart beating faster than usual.
“I can feel a life inside me.”
He smiled at her and Dona ran to hug her before Kael even got the chance to.
“I can't wait to see our kids together.”
Hazel nodded.
“They will be best of friends.”
“And they will be boys.”
Dona added but Miguel immediately disagreed.
“I want a girl first.”
Dona turned to him, making him sink back in his chair like a puppy. This made everyone in the room happy.
“When is the wedding?”
Hazel finally asked, and Dona smiled, knowing that meant Hazel had given them her blessing.
“We want to have it as soon as possible.”
Miguel spoke, drawing the attention in the room to him.
“I felt it would be better to have it as quickly as possible so she can focus on the baby.”
Hazel nodded.
“I guess we have a wedding to plan then.”
Hazel stood up and everyone followed suit.
“The wedding will take place in the alpha's hall.”
Kael suddenly spoke and everyone looked at him in shock.
The alpha's hall was only for events directly related to the alpha, so giving them the hall was giving them more power and recognition than they already had.
“Why do you look so surprised? You're not just my beta, you have been my best friend since we were just kids.
You don't really think you deserve anything less, do you?”
Hazel smiled at his words while Miguel felt genuinely touched.
He moved closer and hugged him, grateful for his thoughtfulness.
Hazel noticed Miguel didn't stop hugging Kael even after a long period so she spoke.
“How about you both get married and I just stay with Dona?”
Both men immediately pushed each other away and stood at a clear distance from each other.
Miguel moved back to Dona and pulled her close by her shoulder.
“No thank you, I'm happy where I am.”
They all smiled and joked before Dona and Miguel had to leave to begin preparations.
Hazel and Kael went back to their room and Hazel who was looking gloomy earlier, now looked into the mirror with a smile on her face as she rubbed her belly.
Kael moved close to her and held her from behind.
“Feels like a dream.”
Hazel said and Kael smiled.
“A dream come true.”
He moved away and turned her towards him.
“I would never have believed a day would come when you would forgive me and give me the chance to love you the way you deserved to be loved.
But now…”
He looked towards her tummy before looking back at her.
“We are having our second child.”
Hazel smiled at his words and nodded.
“I'm happy you found me, and I'm happy we could walk through all the difficulties and challenges that were thrown at us.”
She looked down and took both his hands in hers.
“Even in my next life, I will always choose you to be my mate, my lover, my husband, and the father to our children.”
Kael looked at her with so much love in his eyes. Yes, he would never stop regretting the fact that he let her go all those years ago but now that he had her, he would cherish her with everything that he had.
He leaned in and hugged her and she hugged him right back.
It was almost three weeks after the battle now and Nightshade was back to its stability.
There was peace and everyone was gradually beginning to feel safe once again.
And finally, it was time for Miguel and Dona to tie the knot and become one under the moon.
Dona was dressed in a beautiful light pink gown that showed a generous amount of her chest but not so much cleavage, the gown was flared down and fell to the floor like a flower.
She walked down the aisle like she was the happiest woman to exist and the only person she could see was the man who was not so patiently waiting for her on the other side.
When she finally got there, they exchanged their vows and were officially tied as one.
Months passed and Hazel and Dona were sitting in the dining hall, having tea when the cup in Hazel's hand suddenly fell to the ground.
Her water had broken and it looked like she was going straight into labor.
Dona stood up, wanting to go over and assist, when suddenly, she also screamed in pain.
Both ladies were taken to a room, and midwives and doctors all assembled to treat them and bring the children to the world safely.
The labor went on for hours and soon, Kael turned to Miguel when the sound of a baby crying could be heard from outside the room.
They wanted to rush in and see who had delivered but shortly after, they heard another cry fill up the room.
Both men who were already so scared about what would happen hugged each other, rejoicing like little teenage boys.
The servants who were on standby watched as their powerful alpha and cold beta rejoiced because of the woman they loved.
Soon, the pack was filled with celebration once again. Various people from different packs came to hand them gifts and wish them well.
Hazel's mother's pack also came with a gift for the new baby that they had welcomed
Both Hazel and Dona delivered baby girls and there was certainly no one who was happier than Lucian.
He kept running around yelling that he now had two younger sisters.
Hazel named her daughter Kaila which meant restoring peace to the moon.
And Dona named her daughter Carina which meant product of love.
Time kept going and as the children grew, Lucian became even more reliable, strong, and responsible.
Kalia on the other hand was growing to be stubborn and reckless while Carina was calm and quiet, almost not expressing how he truly felt.
But the pack continues to progress and where the story of their parents ends… theirs begins.
