Chapter 88: Chapter~88~Times a wasting.
Harley~
Nick's fingers go still on my belly as he puts Etta's fire out and his own. His even breaths hitting the back of my neck have her mama heated instead. My hand trails his arm; his muscles flex. He wouldn't deny me if I turned over and woke him up.
Piss on my parade, Rae, is back for sure. 'Harley, Donna will not cut you any slack because the princess is tired.'
'Did you know what was happening while you were silent?'
'Most of the time I'd say, " What's on your mind?'
'The sexual aggression toward Nick has me concerned.'
'Are you referring to the she beast?'
'You know about her?!'
'Harley, we are her in part; however, without me it seems she has run amok. Still, you need to get a hold of yourself. The barred teeth and claw look isn't for you.'
'Hilarious, Rae, trust me, I'm a believer.'
'Goodnight, Harley, do us both a favor and get some rest.'
The clock reveals that it's going on two with a sigh; I close my eyes. There's a storm coming, and my ears pick up the distant thunder rolling through the heavens. Not long, raindrops were being blown against the windows. The rhythm is a lullaby, and I snuggle into Nick.
My eyelids are heavy when I open them again against the morning light filtering through the bay window. No way can it be morning! Nope, I ain't doing it! In protest, I turn over and snuggle my face into Nick's chest. He pulls me close, wraps his arms around my back, and kisses my forehead.
"Morning, Amante."
"Ummmmm, good morning, Wolfman."
"How are you feeling?"
"I'm ok, what time is it?"
"Almost nine." Nick looked down at me and brushed my hair from my face.
My groan is heartfelt and deep. "We need to get up."
"Do you want me to reschedule the appointment with Donna?"
"No, we aren't giving her any reason to tattle-tail to Dr. Wong."
Nick steals one more kiss, sets up, and throws his legs over the side of the bed. "You need breakfast too."
He gets up, and the bed shifts with his weight. His naked ass comes into view from beneath my cover cocoon, which I made from the blanket, as he goes into the bathroom. Moments later, the water starts in the shower.
'Good morning, Rae.'
'Morning, Harley.........Knox is coming.'
Kyle knocks on our door; Nick wraps a towel around his waist and answers. Kyle comes to the end of the bed, Knox pushes forward, and the siblings greet each other.
"Well, alright then," Kyle's eyes focused on me with the covers up to my chest. Then to the steam pouring out of the bathroom and to Nick. "Ok, I'm gonna go give Becky the news," he backs out, "Breakfast is in 30." The door closes. "Carry on."
Nick drops the towel, scoops me up, and carries me to the shower. He places me in front of him so that his back is facing the showerhead. My eyes roll back when one big hand goes to my breast and the other to my heat.
He lifts my leg from the bottom of the tub, places it over his thigh, and tells me to brace my hands on the tile. I do, and he enters me from behind. This is a position I've never been in before; the spark of jealousy that forms in my gut with the thought Nick may have is unexpected.
Soon to be replaced by the wave of orgasmic bliss that makes it impossible to concentrate. With a final thrust, Nick grabs me around the waist and holds me close. I'm panting his name as we ride out our pleasure.
"Checkmate." Nick nibbles on my ear before he turns me in his arms. My legs tremble, and I cling to him.
"Well played, sir." It's an understatement, but the best I had at the moment.
Of course, we are late for breakfast, but it was worth it. We make our way to the nook off the main dining room. It's a more intimate setting; the dining room can accommodate 13, whereas the small nook only has seats for six.
The space features a floor-to-ceiling window that overlooks the backyard. Remnants of drizzling rain from last night's downpour pick up the pinks and blues of the morning sky, looking like a kaleidoscope through the glass.
Rae has me walking with little assistance; what a difference a wolf makes. But she can do little with my cheeks that are burning as Nick seats us at the table. Now that I can smell my pheromones, it's no wonder Becky is looking at me with a blush, too.
She props her elbows on the tabletop. "Kyle told me about Rae. I'm so happy for you."
"Thank you, Becky. Where's Kylie?"
"Still sleeping off the party." Becky laced her fingers with Kyle's. "Kyle never had a better partner in crime."
'What party?' No one could accuse my wolf of not liking a good time.
'It's a long story, Rae, maybe we will be present at our next reception.'
Kylie clears his throat. Thank you, little brother. "An interesting call came from the Pack this morning. Our renegades are ready for phase two."
Nick glanced over at me. "Not a moment too soon; I've been wondering why I haven't heard from the Alpha."
"It would seem he's been busy with another fruitless search." Kyle took the last bite of his sausage and placed the napkin on his plate. "Imagine his surprise."
"Indeed," I scoop up a bite of eggs. "Ian doesn't take them well. On a positive note, Nick and I have decided to go through with the press conference. Can you contact Seth for me?"
"Sure, we can hold it here, show them we are just your average, everyday, nothing to see here, family."
"Right," Nick grunted, "since Ian is supposed to believe I'm locked up, I'll have to make my call from central booking."
My head from side to side with a no. "You can't do that since those calls are under surveillance. I'll have to go with you, be the distraction while you make the call."
"Ian would know the call was being recorded, too," Kyle said.
"Do you have a third-party that you trust?"
"Yes, my Beta, Cole. He and Sofie are mates."
Speak of the she-wolf; Sofie and Kylie enter the dining room. "Luna Harley, there's a rather large woman here to see you."
"It's Donna," Kylie frowned over her freshly served pancakes.
"Ms. Donna," Becky corrected, helping her with the syrup.
Nick squeezes my hand under the table. 'This is it, Rae.'
'I'm with you, sister.'
