CHAPTER 21
“Fix your things; we’ll be going somewhere,” Patriza ordered me as I got in front of her.
I couldn’t even move due to great shock and confusion.
“Don’t worry, I will tell my fiancé that you are with me, so hurry,” she added in an irritating voice.
I could do nothing but enter the office and take my bag. I followed Patriza as we were walking until we reached the outside of the building. We hopped into the parked car. Even though I wanted to ask her where our destination would be, I decided to keep it all to myself.
I sat properly as I glanced at the familiar way to Achetbir’s house. I could count on my fingers how many times I’d been there, but I was not smart enough to remember the way.
My heartbeat started to race as my palms sweated the moment we entered the entrance of their mansion.
“Let’s go,” Patriza said bitchily and stepped out of the car.
I slowly followed her. I froze a bit when I saw Achetbir’s mother waiting for us—or, should I say, waiting for Patriza. They kissed each other's cheeks before giving me a look.
Mrs. Villa Forca smirked while looking at me from head to toe, then rolled her eyes before holding onto Patriza’s arm. “Once a person wants money, she can be pregnant right away. Oh my gosh! Good thing my son was not the father,” she exclaimed loud enough for me to hear her badmouthing me.
I just bit my lower lip and chose to ignore her hurtful words. I smiled bitterly and gently caressed my stomach. “Baby, I hope you will understand my decision,” I whispered and followed my future mother- and sister-in-law.
I frowned at the changes to the house. Before, the shining floor and colorful decorations would welcome you. Now, it looked like a storm raged inside the mansion. I gulped a couple of times and blinked at the ideas in my mind.
“Why are you just standing there? Start cleaning. Don’t worry—I’ll give you a big amount of money after you finish all of these,” said Achetbir’s mother, emotionless.
A rock seemingly blocked my throat at that moment. I just hummed and bowed my head to show respect.
She immediately called one of her maids to bring me all the cleaning materials.
“Let’s go, Tita. Let’s relax in the pool area,” offered Patriza to the woman and clung to her arms.
Achetbir’s mother didn’t speak and just went with Patriza toward the desired place. I gave out a deep breath when they were finally gone. I roamed my eyes around the entirety of the living room. It was full of mud, and leaves were unevenly scattered on the floor—things that even a stupid person could recognize that were all planned.
The maids that I usually saw here when I came over vanished like a bubble. Even the maid from earlier who brought the materials was also gone. Maybe it was because Mrs. Villa Forca ordered them to stay in their chambers and not help me.
I closed my eyes for a second and breathed deeply, trying to smile. “You can do this, Jandie. You are used to doing such household chores, okay?” I said, motivating myself. Then, I started to clean the said area.
Almost two hours had passed, and I was still scrubbing the mud on the floor. I could feel the sweat flowing from my face down to my neck, so I decided to take a rest for a while and tied up my shoulder-length hair. I colored my hair blonde before because of Achetbir’s request. Suddenly, my phone in my pocket rang. I removed my gloves and took my phone out. My forehead automatically crumpled when I saw Achetbir’s name on the screen, though I felt a little nervousness in my chest.
“Hello?” I hesitantly answered after putting the phone to my ear.
“Where are you?” he asked coldly.
I closed my eyes and rubbed my temples. I guessed Patriza had never told him why we left the office.
“Are you with your guy, MsissMendoza?” he added.
“Jeez! I am with your fiancée. She brought me here to your freaking mansion,” I answered immediately. It was too late for me when I realized what I had said. “Sorry,” I continued.
“What are you doing there?” he said in a sturdy manner.
I bit my lower lip and was torn between telling the truth or not.
“Never mind, I’m coming,” he said and ended the call.
My eyes grew bigger out of shock, and I started to feel more nervous.
They were not going to argue and fight, right?
I just decided to continue cleaning instead of thinking negative thoughts that would stress the hell out of me.
Forty minutes had passed, and I was already done removing the dirt on the floor. All I needed to do was sweep and wipe the floor. I was about to grab the broom when a strong hand gripped my wrist. I quickly looked at it and stared after seeing Achetbir with a very violent expression.
Why was he already here?
“What the fuck are you doing?” he asked coldly.
I took a gulp to clear my throat. “C-cleaning,” I stammered in nervousness.
He looked livid. He clenched his jaw, and his eyes darkened as if I had done something terrible to him. Wait, was it really me?
He shut his eyes and took a very deep breath, then opened them slowly. His eyes dimmed from dark glares and moved to my stomach.
“Are you okay?” he asked me worriedly.
I gulped and avoided his eyes. “Yes,” I said hoarsely, though my womb felt a little harder than before.
“Let’s go. I’ll take you to your condo,” he mumbled and held me gently on my waist.
“But I am not yet done.”
He looked at me with a frown on his face, so I just pouted and did what he wanted me to do.
“I am the fucking boss,” I heard him murmur as we walked.
I slyly rolled my eyes.
Boss, my ass. He was under my control when we were still together. Tss!
However, I was so grateful that he came, especially since I felt my stomach stiffen. I went inside his car first. He walked toward the driver's seat and was about to step in when Patriza came out running. She was obviously shocked when he saw Achetbir; maybe she thought that I was planning to flee from her and Mrs. Villa Forca and wasn’t expecting this.
“Love,” called Patriza doubtfully as she walked close to Achetbir and kissed him on the cheek.
I averted my gaze and focused my eyes outside the window.
“Where are you going?” I heard Patriza ask.
“We’ll talk when I get back, Patriza,” Achetbir said instead of answering her. Then, he sat in the driver’s seat.
I secretly glanced at them. Patriza was only watching Achetbir while he was starting the car’s engine.
“Wear your fucking seatbelt, Mendoza,” he ordered.
I quickly responded and followed his order because I was afraid that he would become much angrier.
“Sleep there,” he said in a monotonous voice while driving the car.
I couldn’t remember how many times I had done this, but I just couldn’t help myself because I couldn’t utter a single word ever since the moment he came. “I-I can’t. I may not be able to wake up in an instant. I still need to walk upstairs to the condo,” I explained.
He glanced at me and gave me a death glare. “I said fucking sleep, Mendoza. Don't force me to fuck you here in my car until you lose your consciousness like before,” he said in just one breath, which made my face turn red and my throat dry up.
“Want that?” he asked mockingly as he glanced back and forth from the road to me.
“I-I will j-just take a n-nap,” I stuttered and immediately closed my eyes.
In just one snap, I could remember what we did here in his car whenever he was in a naughty mood. Like he said, I always lost my consciousness in the end after I came multiple times.
I could feel him smirking from his seat. “I thought you’d agree,” he murmured.
Why would I agree?! On the second thought, why did I not agree?
Argh! Seriously, Jandie? Having second freaking thoughts? I couldn’t believe it.
