Chapter 45: You need to forget

,,I'll leave you alone. Talk," Chris said and walked away. I looked at Daisy. She was angry with me.

"You lied to me, Liam. You and Chris too. You told me everything was fine. It wasn't! I don't want to see you anymore and let me go immediately,"

"Well.. Calm down, Daisy," I shouted and sat down on the bed next to her.

"We didn't lie to you. We did tests on you. Your uterus is weakened. You only have one ovary. You'll get pregnant but it will be a high-risk pregnancy. I didn't want to hurt you, Daisy. Neither did I, nor did Chris," I said and grabbed her hand.

"I hate my life, Liam. I hate it. Everything in my life is wrong.  Everything,"

,,Daisy. Don't say that. Everything is starting to turn for the better. You'll see. One day you'll be a mother," I said and hugged her. She burst into tears in my arms.

,,I'm sorry.. You helped me and I'm screaming for you," she whispered and wiped her tears. I kissed her hair.

,,We're going home today. I have a surprise for you there. Daisy, everything will be fine. You can't leave me. You really can't do this.. One day you'll be a mother,"

,,What surprise?,,"

,,You'll see. If I told you, it wouldn't be a surprise. I'll prepare a discharge note and come. How are you feeling?,,"

,,I feel really bad. Even after what James told me.  Just when I think everything is fine, James comes and ruins my mood," she whispered

"Try to ignore him. Try to forget that Daisy was here," I said and smiled. I got up from the bed.

"Tell Chris I'm sorry for yelling at him," she whispered. If only you knew that he's your father, Daisy. If only you knew.

"I'll tell him. Don't worry. He'll definitely come to say goodbye to you. He loves you. You remind him so much of the daughter he doesn't have. I'll prepare the discharge letter and Daisy will come. We'll go home and try to forget what James said. I'm a doctor, not him,"

Daisy:

I was lying on the bed. I was waiting for Liam. Chris came into my room and smiled at me.

"I'm sorry.  I didn't mean to react like that, Chris," I whispered. He sat down on the chair and looked at me.

,,Liam is preparing a discharge report.. You're going home,,"

,,I'm looking forward to it. I don't want to be in this hospital anymore. Not anymore,,"

,,Take care of yourself and listen to him Daisy.. Liam knows best what's good for you and what's not,,"

,,Have you known him for a long time?,,"

,,Almost my whole life. We grew up together. We studied together and now we work together. We help each other, we advise each other all our lives. We are not only colleagues but also long-time friends. I have never seen him with any woman. I have never seen him smile until he met you,,"

,,I have grown to like Liam a lot in that short time. He has helped me a lot but it's not about gratitude.  I really like him," I whispered and Liam came into the room and smiled at me. Chris stood up.

,,We're going home Daisy. You'll practice at home," he said and smiled at me.

,,If anything happens at the hospital, I'll let you know Liam,"

,,If anything happens, call Chris. You can come and see us, too,"

,,I'll stop by sometime Liam. Sure. It was nice to see you Daisy and get your act together," he said and walked away. I looked at Liam.

,,You remind him a lot of the daughter he lost years ago,"

,,I.. When he was here.. I felt like my father was with me.  I really want to know where he is, what he looks like and if he's looking for me," I whispered quietly

,,We'll find him together okay? I don't think he ever stopped looking for you. Maybe he's still looking for you but he can't find you Daisy. I don't believe he would just forget about his daughter,"

,,My mom will never tell me where he is, Liam. I have no way of finding out, I don't,"

,,Don't be sad Daisy. We'll figure something out. Come on. We're going home," he said and handed me the crutches. I smiled and stood up. I held on to the crutches.

One Hour Later

,,Okay.  Welcome home.. Finally," Liam said and smiled at me. He locked the door with a code. I sat down on the couch. He sat down next to me on the couch and pushed my hair out of my face.

,,I thought I wouldn't leave that hospital Liam. I'm better here,,"

,,I know.. That's why I brought you here. To be fair, you should still be in the hospital but I thought I'd let you go. You'll gradually put weight on those legs and then you should be able to walk completely on your own,,"

,,And what's next?,,"

,,I don't know what you mean now Daisy. What should be next?,," he asked me and raised his eyebrows.

,,Liam. Look. You take care of me. I live with you. You buy me things. You operated on me for free. You buy food. It can't go on like this forever,,"

"And here it is again. Look Daisy. I've been alone for years. I haven't cared for anyone for years. I've always been at work. The same thing over and over again. Then I met you and my life changed for the better. I wasn't just thinking about work, I was thinking about you too. And I'm not going to let you go. I've gotten so used to you. I've gotten so used to your presence and I know you'll get used to mine too. When you get over everything, you can work for me. In the hospital. I know you're also angry that you lost your license for a few years,"

"It makes me angry.. It makes me very angry Liam,"

"I know," I whispered and hugged her. She looked into my eyes. She was so close to me again. I leaned in to her lips.

"Liam. I," she whispered but I put a finger on her mouth. She ran her hand over my chest.

"No. Don't say anything.  I don't want you to say anything now," I said and touched her lips. She closed her eyes. I grabbed her face and kissed her.

I wanted to kiss her every day. I wanted to touch her every day. Her lips were sweet. I laid her on the couch. I ran my hand down her thigh. She tilted her head back. I kissed her shoulder. I felt her getting wet, under every touch of mine.

"You need to forget and I'll help you forget," I said and kissed her lips one last time.
