Chapter 5

“What color suites my hair better, Black or blonde?" I asked as my maids dressed me up in front of my mirror. I was donning a rosy, red medieval gown. Unfortunately, they were just as confused like I was.

“Blonde, my lady." One softly quoted.

“Black would do justice, my lady." Another chirped.

“Blonde is just perfect." A smile crept to my face, hearing that voice. My eyes darted to my twin doors as Martha gingerly walked in. Dazzling in her green slim fit pant suit complemented with a black shirt and a pair of matching stiletto heels.

“You all may leave." I ordered. They bowed their heads before leaving Martha and I alone. I remained in my stance still smiling. By now it should have vanished. I wasn't smiling because Martha was here, but for something else.

She stood beside me while the mirror reflected the admiration in her eyes. And then she strolled to my drawer picking my most cherished necklace. One my mother had given me, a green necklace that had been handed down from generations to generations. My smile deepened as I felt her soft touch adorn my necklace on me.

“You look ravishing,” she whispered. I chuckled.

“And you too." I remarked, occasionally stealing glances at her attire.

“Well Thank you!" She chuckled too.

“I'm excited, Martha." I mumbled with my smile finally fading away.

“Of course, you should be, today is D-day. So, it's normal,” she answered as she massaged helped me down my stool.

“No, it's something else." I pursed my lips, in a strange way I was recalling my Mother's Journal again, Rose.

“I'm feeling this sweet sensation within, I feel like something is coming. Something good. Something divine." I spoke in oblivion.

“Green," she held my chin, holding my gaze with an endearing smile complementing her face. "I'm sure all this is about the meeting. So don't get too distracted and we should leave now if we don't wanna be late." She grabbed me in a jiffy yet gently before striding out of my room and across the hallways of my mansion till we arrived outdoors. Under the beautiful rays of the sun and peaceful atmosphere.

My eyes darted to my escorts already ready to begin the journey. All dressed in dashing green suits which annoyed me. I wanted only Martha to dawn the same color as mine not them. But then again, ordering them to change their clothes would certainly waste our time. Considering Martha who was the early timer compared to me.

“Just before we leave woman," her voice pitched on a lighter note as we strode towards a vehicle.

“Please don't kill anyone there."

I scoffed.

“I'll try."

“Green."

“Okay fine, I won't." I rolled my eyes with an obvious sigh. "But you know it's inevitable though."

“That's why I'm asking you not to. We don't wanna make today any more complicated." She sighed. I stopped by the Mercedes rear door already opened by one of my escort.

“I have a feeling it's going to get much worse and I'm going to enjoy every bit of it." I donned a sinister smile before lowering into the vehicle.

“Know your place Young lady!" His thick voice barked.

“A slave is what you are and that is what you shall remain!

Don't even dare to aspire to be someone, Let alone dream or even dare to entertain such thought ever again because the day you do," he pursed, his eyes glowering like brimstone fire enough to raze someone to ashes.

“I will forget the bond that exists between us and rip your miserable heart out!"

“Green!" My eyes jolted awake immediately and then I felt Martha's grasp on my hand.

“What happened?" She asked softly.

I heaved a light sigh, wondering why I had that nightmare in daylight.

“Nothing."

“Nothing?" She cocked her head to the side with a worried expression. "You zoned out."

I held her gaze.

“We've arrived, Lady Green,” said the chauffeur in a calm tone. I gulped down my saliva before flashing her a smile.

“I'm okay Martha,” I said stroking her hand over mine softly. She maintained silence for a while as if she didn't buy it.

“If you say so." She nodded. "Now let's get to business, shall we?"

I nodded and without further thoughts, we both alighted from the vehicle. I was instantly welcomed with a strong scent of Ginger. A potential weakness of Vampires. This was Damian's way of welcoming me to his Pack. The Crimson Prowlers Pack. This was his way of showing how much he hates and fears me.

“You feel that?" Martha asked beside me while I stared at his gigantic mansion donning a magnificent shade of yellow and green His guards were firmly rooted at every corner with their eyes fixated on me. They had predatory expressions, but I could still sense their fear.

“I told you. Things are going to get much worse." I mumbled while my mind raced for several other attack techniques the Lycan could have in store.

“Lady Green!" Said a man who was dressed elegantly in a dashing black tux with an endearing smile to complement it all. One glance at him, I could tell he was probably four centuries year old.

“I'm Maxwell, allow me guide you to the meet—”

“Get out of my way." I quoted icily and his body immediately stiffened. The bright smile that once accompanied his face vanished. I wasn't going to let him guide me to a place I was already accustomed to. I gingerly trailed into the building alongside Martha.

Once we emerged into the first chambers, we were welcomed with predatory eyes of guards stronger than those outside and a concentrated scent of Ginger.

Nevertheless, we trailed to the twin doors of the second chambers but were stopped by guards.

“Pardon me Lady Green, but only community leaders are allowed in these chambers," Maxwell briskly interrupted behind me with a nervous chuckle.

I turned to Martha who simply smiled at me.

“I'll advise you all to stay focused on your designated jobs. My friend here has a dramatic flair for killing lustful men." I announced with a tiny sinister smile as two guards gradually pushed the twin doors open.

My sinister smiled deepened as I stepped into the large room. Silence descended immediately as each of the community leaders focus drifted from their conversation to my presence. There they were seated around a large and round brown table. The Dragon Lord, Eden. The Regent of Oasis Haven Coven, Vera and The Lycan, Damian. They all had one thing in common with their countenances, hostility, except Eren of course. The famous Dragon Lord, known for his strength and victories over his enemies. He was one who's on par or even greater than me and nearly indestructible. Regardless of my powers, he didn't fear me. Rather he's been chasing after my heart for centuries now.

“You're late!" The Lycan growled.

“You should know by now, Damian." Eren responded, his lustful eyes clearly fixated at me. "She likes to make an entrance."

“Indeed." I added before choosing to sit opposite Eren with Damian by my left and Vera positioned to my right.

“Let's return to our conversation, shall we?" Vera interjected, her eyes making no mistake to contact mine. This was probably why I hated her. To fear me was okay but to despise me was something I couldn't accept. The men here were the real monsters, but she chose to follow under their shadow.

“Oh yes." Eren chirped. "Just before you came Green, we were discussing the Unity festival."

I rolled my eyes. The Unity festival again, the same thing they've always blabbed about every century and never succeeded at it.

“As we all know, the Unity festival is one of those important cultures we celebrate every century. It's the festival where all communities of the supernatural world come together and celebrate peace and harmony existing between us. But unfortunately," he pursed his lips as his eyes fell on me again.

“For six centuries now, this festival has not been held.”

“Well, that is because someone here has obviously been ruining our plans!" Damian growled again, eyeing me with the corner of his eyes. I scoffed and silence birthed again.

“Why don't you be a man and call me by my name?"

His palms curled into a fist and his brown irises lit up in rage.

“Damian is right." Vera interjected. "Green has been the cause of this problem. Ever since she became ruler of the Vampires, The Unity Festival has not happened." I smiled.

“The Unity festival." I mumbled and yet again they all went mute. "You all have been clamoring for this festival to hold for six hundred years now. But we all know the truth," I pursed my lips glancing at each of them.

“There is no peace nor harmony between our kinds. Take me for example, The three of you hate me so much that you allowed this fool to plant Ginger all over his cage he calls mansion. And you want me to be a hypocrite, celebrating false love."

Damian growled while Eren wore a cocky smile, but I didn't waver. In fact, I had this sudden craving for the Lycan's blood to flow.

“I'm sure if you all had your way, you won't want me on this chair. You would dethrone me as the ruler of the Vampires."

“There is no lie in that." Damian icily quoted, his eyes glowering at me and his breaths storming out unsteadily.

“You're no leader Green. You're a monster, a foe to our worlds,” he blurted.

I arched an eyebrow upwards.

“And what right do you have to judge me, Damian?"

“Show some equal respect woman! I am the Lycan. Alpha of all Alphas."

“Says the man who couldn't protect his family from a mercenary." I scoffed.

“How dare you!" He barked ferociously as he arose to his height. His chest towering up and down and his eyes glowering at me.

“How dare you open that atrocious mouth of yours to insult me, in my Pack!"

I laughed hysterically before standing too. I inched close to him, so our breath collided, and our eyes found it hard to waver from each other.

“I see your Alpha ego is getting the best of you Damian. If I wanted, just one flick of my fingers and my army would raze you, your family, and this pathetic Pack of yours to the ground. So, know your place!"

I threatened with a tiny smile. I hadn't even lost my temper yet, but I was already craving for his heart to be ripped out.

He still maintained his ferocious look that irritated me.

“Now be a good boy and sit." I ordered. His breaths were storming out again, his palms were greatly beckoning to hit my face, but his fears held him back.

“Damian, sit," Eren interjected but the Lycan wouldn't listen.

“Damian, do as she says," Vera said on a pleading note. Only then did the Lycan return to his seat.

“Good boy." I parted his hair softly, but he dared not hit it away. I returned my cold stare to them again.

“This Unity Festival won't hold until I get what I want!" I pronounced.

“What do you want?" Eren asked with a sigh. They already knew what I wanted except they were choosing to be ignorant.

“The same thing I've been asking for the past six hundred years now."

“We've already given you our final answers Green. It would be absurd of us to give you our respective powerful ancient artifacts! They're symbolic to our worlds."

I heaved a light sigh.

“I was expecting this answer. Aren't you all tried of this constant arguing? Give me what I want, and I'll let you have your useless Unity Festival for as long as you like."

“And the answer is No!" Vera blurted. I smiled.

“Alright then, since you all have chosen to be stubborn. I'm giving you all three days to give me what I asked for and after this time has elapsed, I still get nothing..." I paused to glance at each of their faces.

“Then I promise to unleash war against the three of you." I muttered in the most devilish manner my chords could offer.

“You're bluffing." Eren asked with a frown while the others stared in horrific awe. I could smell their fear reek off them.

“Do I?" I cocked my head to the side as I held his gaze. He gulped down his saliva.

“You're a fool if you think we would hand you our most precious objects." Damian growled and in a split second, I grabbed his neck. Raised him above the ground as he struggled fervently.

“Then I guess I have to start from you boy." I growled while my eyes morphed into a sparkling shade of green.

“Green drop him!" The other two ordered as they arose but I glared at them and their bodies instantly stiffened.

“If any of you dare to move then I promise to give you a very disastrous end." I quoted ferociously before returning to Damian, choking on his breath.

“You irk me Boy, maybe I should just snap your neck and end your pathetic reign here." I growled.

“No Green!"

“Green!!"

And just as I was about to wrench his bones, silence descended, everything went still. I frowned. This wasn't normal. It was a time dampening spell, but it wasn't Vera's doing. It was someone else's.

The twin doors slowly opened only for a dashing young man to step in. For the first time in centuries, I was attracted to a man. There he was dressed in all-black attire. A jacket donned on a t shirt and a pair of fitted jeans complemented with boots. His blonde hair was full and messy, and his hazel eyes glistened. His rosy, red lips shone to my eyes, igniting an irresistible urge in me to kiss it.

I recognized this man! He was the famous Zeus! But in an odd way, I felt that excitement. The same one I had experienced in the morning. And just like my mother had said in her journal, I felt that seed within me germinate. I felt an instant bond with this werewolf. A strong love bond I didn't want.

In a strange way, I recalled Martha's words.

***

“What will you do when you find your mate?"

“As long as she's a woman. Then I have no problem." I answered.

“What if, he's a man?"

“I will accept him. Make him fall in love with me blindly and then I'll kill him in the most insulting and shameful way ever."

She heaved a sigh.

“For centuries, I've been asking this question." She paused. "But I feel like you've not given me your honest answer."

I turned sharply to her. My eyes holding hers.

“I'm the killer of mates so what's going to stop me from killing mine?"

***

She was right all along, for years I have vowed to kill my mate but here he was before me, and I couldn't do anything. All my body did was crave him and I couldn't control it.

Was this going to be my new path? To live a life with a mate and not just any ordinary mate. A werewolf?!

No! I wasn't going to fall to the trickery of the moon goddess!

Zeus was certainly my mate, but I would never accept him. I would only despise him!
