Chapter 4

My phone rang loudly, piercing my ears, waking me up from my beautiful sleep. Who fucking calls when a person is sleeping?

I got up and checked my alarm, turns out it was 3 a.m., the perfect time to call a person.

I grabbed my phone to check who the fuck had those mighty balls and to call me by that time.

Pete Good lord.

I answered the call.

"Well Pete, this better be fucking good" I said before he could say hello.

"No really, it is, I found out where Reeves Stones house is located. I also found out the days he goes to his company and the days he doesn't" Pete said and I almost squealed in excitement.

This was the best message ever.

"I've also sent all the details to you via email" he said

"Okay so what about what you told me could not wait till I come to work today?" I asked him, seeming uninterested.

I was interested, very interested.

"I'm sorry, I've been working all night trying to find out information for you and I thought you'd be excited" he said calmly

"Well, as you can see, I'm not excited, tell me when I get to work later, maybe I'll be excited. Don't ever call me at this time again. Thank you" I told him

"I'm really so—" he started to say but I hung up.

Just because he was helping me didn't mean he should forget who I am and who he is.

But boy was I excited, sleep was long forgotten now, I took my laptop and got to work on how I'd approach Reeves Giovanni next.

..........................................

My over excitement made me call in sick at the office today.

I'm also really happy because I knew Reeves was not going to ignore me this time, I wasn't going to let him.

I looked at my reflection in my mirror and smiled, I looked good as always in my skinny jeans that showed off my curves and a body hug swimsuit.

"Oh Reeves, how lucky you are," I said and grabbed my Christian Dior bag and left my house.

I went to a coffee shop not so far away from his company and sat there, just waiting for him to leave his company.

I don't know where Pete got all this information but, I knew I owed him one.

At exactly 2:25, I knew he'd be on his way, so I stepped out of the coffee shop, and I saw it—his wrath coming from afar.

I can't believe I'm about to do this!

When he was at least 5 meters away, I walked straight into the road with my phone on my ear like I was having a conversation and didn't see him coming.

I don't think he was concentrating on the road either because the next thing I knew, I was hit by his car.

Jack-fucking-pot!

I smiled before I saw black.

"Thankfully, you didn't hit any vital organ, hence the reason why she didn't bleed out" I heard a strange voice say.

God my head hurt as well as my left leg.

When I opened my eyes, it was so bright until my eyes adjusted to the light.

"She's awake" a nurse beside me said.

"How are you feeling?" The doctor asked. He was an elderly looking man, like he should be in his 50s or so.

Strangely, he was smiling weirdly at me.

"Like shit" I replied. I really did feel like shit. I'm never going to risk my life for a man ever again.

"What the hell?" I heard a new voice yell.

I turned to the owner, and it was him.

Reeves Giovanni.

Hey daddy!

"What were you thinking? Didn't you see me coming?" he yelled at me specifically this time.

"I—"

"Save it. I should be working right now!" he yelled.

"But then you hit me, and I think you should be apologizing instead of yelling. I don’t know how you handle stuff, but I’m very sure my health is your responsibility now, and I’m hungry," I told him sassily.

Before he could reply, the doctor cut in.

"Yes, Mr. Giovanni, she needs something to eat," he backed up.

I guess the doctor isn't so bad after all.

"Well, she should've thought about that before walking into the road like that," he grumbled, and I almost laughed.

"Well?" I pressed and he gave me the stink eye.

In return, I smiled sweetly.

"Doctor Bryan, when will she be discharged?" Reeves asked.

Someone would think he cared, that's why he's asking.

Pfft!

"In the next week her ankle should be as good as new since you didn't hit her that hard, then she'll be ready to go," Doctor Bryan said and smiled at me again.

Reeves nodded and left the room.

"So, I'm guessing you don't know him?" Doctor Bryan said, trying to start up a conversation.

"Oh fuck! My head hurts" I lied, holding my head for more effect.

"I think she should rest," the nurse said, and he nodded as they left the room.

Finally, some peace and quiet so I can think.

I've got you now, Reeves, and you can't back out!

A few minutes later, Reeves barged into the room with Chips and Chicken.

He threw it at me, and I smiled.

I wasn't going to let his attitude get the best of me.

No man has ever treated me this way, I didn't let them.

But for this man, I did things no one should ever do, and I wasn't about to let my efforts go in vain.

"Don't think this is how it'll be for the next week" he spoke.

"I'm your responsibility, you hit me with your car, courtesy demands that you come here every day to see me, till I'm discharged" I told him, almost yelling.

"I don't give two fucks about you or courtesy" he spat.

"Really? Because I think you should or I'll sue you to court and my uncle is a judge, do you understand what I'm trying to say, or should I go on?” I threatened.

Basically, I lied, I don't have an uncle who's a fucking judge.

I saw him gulp. Then he gave me a stink eye and left the room.

I got you Giovanni!
