Chapter 535
"This isn't an exaggeration at all. I'm just sharing what I learned from those who came before us." Dana smiled with her lips pressed together, reserved yet steady.
Those who came before?
As soon as she said this, everyone felt a strange sensation rise in their hearts.
Arabella immediately became nervous.
"Are you saying watching the circus could be dangerous?" As she spoke, her shoulders tensed up slightly, and she looked like a frightened bird, as if she would wave everyone back the moment Dana nodded.
For a moment, everyone grew tense too. They all looked at Dana, secretly hoping she would shake her head.
Especially Alice.
She had finally heard about something fun to do in this foreign land and didn't want to turn back so easily.
Fortunately, Dana shook her head, allowing everyone to relax.
"It's not that serious. It's just to prevent troublemakers, and mainly to let people know we're not to be messed with." Dana smiled as she opened the car door for everyone and explained.
With her explanation, everyone smiled in understanding.
The citizens of Eldoria had better manners than those in Novaria, but the teenagers here were harder to manage.
After all, with guardians around, most teenagers chose to spend their youth seeking thrills.
And a circus, being a large-scale performance, would definitely attract carnival and other major entertainment activities.
Therefore, in such settings, the number of teenagers would be staggering.
If they caught the attention of troublesome teenagers while watching the circus, it wouldn't be good.
In situations like this, having an intimidating presence came in handy.
After this explanation, everyone chatted and laughed as they got in the car.
Just as everyone had expected.
Around the circus performance area, many temporary stalls had been set up for people to shop and play.
When Alice and her group appeared, everyone's eyes focused on them.
The reason was simple - the bodyguards surrounding them were too eye-catching. In Eldoria, ordinary people couldn't own guns. Regular folks could only become hunters to own hunting rifles.
To carry a small handgun, you had to be a professional bodyguard.
Alice was positioned at the very center of the group.
She looked around, gazing at this area that was no different from Lumaria's night market, feeling somewhat excited.
"Want to try something?" Arabella noticed her interest and immediately asked.
Dana also looked over as Arabella spoke, her eyes bright, looking ready to go buy anything the moment Alice said the word.
However, Alice had just eaten dinner and wasn't hungry at all, so she waved her hand and declined Arabella's kind offer.
Bob and Felix left the group a few minutes later.
They had originally wanted to take Oliver with them, but he refused no matter what, his eyes fixed on Molly.
They naturally understood what he meant, so they pushed his wheelchair in front of Molly, said goodbye with a grin, and immediately ran off.
Molly was startled by Oliver suddenly appearing before her. After understanding what had happened, she raised an eyebrow slightly and looked at Oliver with a teasing expression.
Meeting her gaze, Oliver felt a bit embarrassed, but even with his face tense, he still spoke softly, "I've been abandoned, so I can only turn to you."
Molly was almost amused to anger by his excuse.
As it turned out, she really was amused to anger. She crossed her arms over her chest and raised one eyebrow. "Isn't your wheelchair electric?"
Oliver's fingers on the joystick curled back. The sensitive control point immediately made the wheelchair move backward a bit.
Now he fell even more silent.
But soon, Oliver took a deep breath, looked up, and met Molly's eyes. "I'm closest to you, so only you can take care of me."
Molly instinctively wanted to look at Arabella and the others who had already walked some distance away.
But before she could say anything, Oliver had already moved forward and grabbed her wrist, his voice much lower, "Molly, we have a special relationship after all, so don't reject me anymore."
Though his voice was low, it carried a strange sense of grievance.
Molly looked into his eyes because of his sudden pulling motion and instantly got lost in those clear, spring-water-like eyes.
Her heartbeat suddenly skipped a beat.
"Fine." Molly spoke, trying to stay calm, but her hand pulled away in panic.
Having his hand shaken off, Oliver's expression showed some disappointment, but he quickly smiled because of Molly's agreement.
He immediately moved a bit closer.
He'd been using the wheelchair to get around lately, and it had almost become one with him.
Molly watched him skillfully operate the wheelchair. Her lips pressed together, a trace of regret flashing in her eyes, but she said, "You don't look like someone who needs taking care of at all."
Hearing this, Oliver smiled. "I don't need others to take care of me, I only need you."
At these words, Molly immediately tensed her face. "Smooth talker."
Seeing her like this, Oliver's heart tickled, and he continued shamelessly, "Want to try?"
This time, he immediately received a sharp glare from her.
The murderous look made Oliver raise his hands in surrender. "I was wrong, don't be angry."
Molly huffed and walked forward a few steps, then turned back to look at Oliver, who had stayed in place. "Aren't you coming?"
Seeing her turn back, though her voice carried annoyance, her expression was coquettish, and even that annoyed tone sounded somewhat sweet to Oliver's ears.
Oliver instantly felt delighted. The corners of his mouth pressed together tightly, but he couldn't hold it in, and a faint smile leaked out. He softly said okay, and the smile at the corners of his mouth spread further, becoming even brighter.
The circus performance was starting in half an hour.
Everyone regrouped at that time.
The tickets Liam had purchased were in the middle section of the audience seating.
The seats around them were almost all occupied by the bodyguards from earlier, like a human barrier protecting Alice and the others in the center.
Alice sat between Dana and Arabella, with Molly and Oliver next to Arabella, while Bob and Felix sat beside Dana.
As for Liam.
He sat in a more forward position.
Before the circus started, the venue was filled with various conversations, mostly in Eldoria's language, with a few in other minor languages.
Although much of the conversation was unclear, the different tones and languages added a lot of liveliness to the venue.
Having not been in such a lively environment for a long time, Alice felt somewhat uncomfortable for a moment.
