Chapter 32
Raven’s POV
A laugh escaped my mouth as I looked over at Rhyland who almost fell clean off of the roof.
It had been a few days since we made it to Zanatra thanks to his mother and her necklace, and our first stop was to the waters to heal my side.
I found myself feeling a million times more refreshed than ever and my body felt so alive.
Since my arrival back, I began to slowly but surely rebuild the kingdom my parents once reigned over. Cassius had walked the beaches earlier and picked trash up along with anything else that doesn’t belong there while Rhyland and I rebuilt the buildings that had been wiped out by the war.
“We need a board here, good job, now you ready to nail it down?”
I looked over to Rhyland who was helping a younger boy no older than eleven put down the frame of the house.
His father was on the other side working along with us, most of the villagers here were more than willing to help.
“Here?” The little boy asked and Rhyland nodded, allowing the little boy to lightly tap the nail between Rhyland’s fingers. I couldn’t help myself while I watched in awe. If you would’ve told me this is how things would turn out when I first met Rhyland I would’ve thought you were crazy.
“Enjoying the show?” He asked and I snapped out of my daze to find his eyes on me also.
I shrugged, “hmm, maybe.”
He gave me a cheeky smile and hammered down the nail with one good wack.
“Come, there’s something I want to show you.” He motioned towards me and he stood up, not too quickly so the child’s father had time to come to the child and help him. I smiled and followed behind him, he hopped down off of the roof with ease, landing on a small hill that accompanied his fall.
He turned around and held his arms up to me.
I knelt down and eased off of the roof before falling. He instantly caught me and wrapped his arms around my body.
“What is it?”
A mischievous grin crossed his lips and he simply shrugged.
“It’s a surprise.”
I gave him a pointed look before he took my hand and walked down the road with me. I knew this road led to the beach, but I didn’t want to think about it too much because I’d ruin my own surprise.
“Don’t worry, it’s nothing bad. I feel like you’ll actually love it.”
I looked over at him and for the first time since I met him, he seemed to have a glow about him.
His facial features were brighter, his eyes held more sparkles, and the way he carried himself seemed to hold more power than before. He isn’t hiding in his father’s shadow anymore.. he’s his own person, his own being and he’s finally getting to show that.
He was smiling cheekily with his eyes cast outward towards the ocean in front of us.
“You know, I never seen myself here.”
He spoke up and I furrowed my brows at him. He noticed my confusion and shook his head.
“I never saw myself being happy. My future was planned out for me the day that I was born and I never had a say in any of it. I had to marry a girl I wanted nothing to do with, live out my life ruling a kingdom I didn’t feel right for, and be grateful.”
My eyes fell to the ground, he was right. His life wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows as every had made it out to be. I felt a squeeze on my hand and my eyes flew back up to him.
“That was until I met you. You defied all the rules, you made me see something in myself that I hadn’t realized was there before. You opened my eyes to the world infront of me and I’ll forever be grateful for that and that alone.”
Warmth spread through my body as I watch him all but sprint down the road towards the water to get there faster. I took off after him, giggling at the antics we were doing but I didn’t care.
When I got closer to the beach, he put his hand out towards me.
“Wait!” He stopped me and I halted in my steps while watching him closely with confused expressions.
He came up behind me and covered my eyes with his hands so that my vision was completely blacked out.
“Alright, now take some steps forwards. Good good, now step up.”
He intructed me and I did so, stumbling slightly but he would pull me back into him to keep me steady.
The warmth of his hands covering my face made me too aware of his closeness but I can’t say that I minded it. It wasn’t so foreign to me anymore and I rather enjoyed it.
“Alright... a little further.. okay, now!” He said as he snatched his hands from my eyes and I opened them up to find a small tree house built onto a tree the leaned slightly over the water.
The limbs were so stern that I could instantly tell that it was going no where. It was almost the size of a small house and I could only gasp.
“I know you don’t remember this spot, but I had Cassius come out here with me and point to the spot that he brought you to the night of the war.”
My heart swelled up completely and I looked over at him with the brightest smile I could muster. Before he could comprehend what I was doing, I bursted into a run and leapt onto him, wrapping my legs around his waist.
My lips crashed into his at the same time the waves crashed against the shore. I let my fingers caress his cheek as our lips moved as one together, the euphoric feeling engulfing my senses.
He pulled back slightly with a sly smile.
“Would you like to see the inside?” His eyes gleamed with excitement and I quickly nodded. He guided me up to the tree that had a ladder attached to the side of it.
When we made it to the inside, I instantly noticed how cozy it looked. With fluffy blankets to books lining the sides, a bed sat on the other side of the room facing the opposite direction.
My breath hitched in my throat when I seen the view it held, infront of the bed was an enormous window and the view was breathtaking.
You could see the sunset clearly above the sparkling water.
“I- I don’t know what to say..”
“Do you like it?” He asked and I laughed a little at his question.
“Like it? I love it! So this is what the two of you were sneaking off to do when we first arrived.” I questioned and he just shrugged with a slight blush rushing past his cheeks.
“I wanted to show you how grateful I was, not just tell you.”
His dark hair fell over his forehead as he looked over at me. His eyes searched my face for any sign that I was lying about loving it and I know he came up empty when his shoulders visibly relaxed.
I don’t know what came over me, but I knew in that moment that I wanted this.
I wanted this man, now and forever. I wouldn’t want it any other way. He noticed the change in my expressions and walked across the room with long strides.
When we finally came face to face, he leaned down so painfully slow and took my lips captive with his again. I responded and the gentleness of the kiss washed away along with all other cares in the world.
In this moment, everything felt right.
Without breaking the kiss, he began walking me backwards towards the bed and I blindly allowed him to lead me. With one of his hands he reached up and slid it through my hair before tightening his grip the same moment the back of my legs hit the bed.
I fell backwards on to it with him standing above me, his eyes hungrily raked my body before meeting my eyes.
“Are you sure you want this?”
His voice came out husky and dense, but without a second thought I quickly nodded and moved up on the bed better.
He eased down over me and eased his way between my legs with his body, carefully watching my response. I felt hot under his gaze and squirmed a little.
With one quick motion, he pulled his shirt off and I began to do the same until he caught my hands in his.
“Allow me.” He spoke in a proper manner and I giggled as a smile spread across his face. He eased his fingers under the hem of my shirt and pulled it off of my body completely.
His eyes glazed over and his jaw clenched together.
“You have absolutely no idea why you do to me.” He whispered while leaning down and began trailing kisses down my exposed stomach.
“Then show me.”

Those simple words seemed to snap whatever self control he was holding together as he pulled off my pants and panties, leaving me bare to his flaming eyes.
I automatically tried to cover myself up but he gripped both hands to the bed and smirked up at me.

Before the warmth in my belly exploded, he completely stopped and I heard rustling. I opened my eyes to him leaning above me, his eyes looking over me one last time.

“Yes Rhyland, I want this, I want you. I want all of you.” I reassured his thoughts and he smiled down at me. With a very slow motion I felt the tip of him right at my entrance.
“This is going to hurt a bit.” He assured and pressed into me slowly, allowing me time to adjust to his size.
A stinging sensation mixed with burning as he entered me and just when I thought he was in he pushed even more, inch by inch.
I bit my lip to try and contain the pressure that I was feeling. As soon as he was all the way inside me he paused completely.
“Are you okay?”
I nodded but my body was still hot, ready for him to continue without interruptions.
“Rhyland, just fuck me.” I said and he smirked down at me before leaning towards me, capturing my lips. His hips began to rock back and forth, slowly at first but progressively got rougher with each go.
He pulled back from the kiss and pounded deeper into me, the pain had disappeared and was replaced with complete pleasure. He moved in and out of me with one hand gripping onto my hips so that I don’t move up with each powerful plunge.

My sentence was cut off completely when my climax his full force.
“Fuck!” He shouted as his climax hit at the same time, my legs quakes around his head for a few more thrusts and he collapsed on to me, covered in sweat.
