Chapter 52 His new step-mother
Chapter 52 His new step-mother
MARK’S POV
I hadn’t planned on going home that weekend, but my dad left like a dozen messages and calls. I clicked on the latest message.
"Mark, come home immediately. There is something I need to tell you about. It is important."
Dad never sends any messages except for questions about school and whether I need more allowance or not. Ever since my mom died eight years ago my dad as be very distance and borderline indifferent to me but for the last three months he has been abnormally attentive. I had half a mind to ignore his message but he has always been serious with his commands. If he says it is important then it has to be.
And so here I was, back in the sleek, modern house in the hills that always felt more like a luxury mansion in Hollywood than a home. My dad was standing in the kitchen his sleeves rolled up, looking smug in that weird ' I just did something crazy but you have no choice but to accept it.' kinda way.
“I got married.” He said I he put down the glass of water he was holding.
I blinked, and twisted my head trying to determine if I had heard the correct thing. “You what?”
" I got married,” his dad repeated, pouring scotch into a glass like it was no big deal. “Her name’s Liana. Wonderful woman. You’ll like her.”
Mark leaned against the counter, arms crossed. “You’ve known her for what, six months?”
“Eight actually” He said while taking a light sip.
"Hope she's has no kids, I don't want to start fighting over a bathroom." I said nonchalantly.
"No she doesn't and even if she did why and how would you fight over a bathroom "
"It's possible."
My dad smirked. “Don’t be dramatic. She’s moving in tonight so be nice and please come early if you plan on joining us for dinner."
I didn’t promise anything, I just gave him a salute and ski dadlled out of the room. I got a call from my friend, Tayo, about a hot party going on. I wanted to decline but Tayo emphasized that there would be hot girl and I had to pretend to be interested.
The party that night was loud as hell. The place smelt like sweat with too many bodies pressed into a space that smelled like vodka, weed, and expired body spray.
I was already two drinks in, sitting on a couch with a red cup in hand, when a girl i vaguely remembered from biology class slid onto my lap. The music boomed all around us , her hips rolling to the beat like she had been practicing this moment in a mirror. I wouldn't be surprised if she did.
I tried to feel something, closing my eyes and trying to let the alcohol numb my thoughts. I placed my hands on her waist and tried to move along with her. But in the end I felt nothing, just bored and a weird churning in my stomach.
She leaned in,her breath hot against my ear. “You like that, don’t you?”
I didn’t, In fact, I felt… repulsed. Like something inside me recoiled at the forced intimacy of it all. She moved her hips again, grinding harder and more determined. That was my cue to leave.
I gently but firmly set down my cup, lifted her off my lap, and muttered something about needing air. She pouted sadly and I took the opportunity to bolt out.
The cool night air hit my face like a sharp slap. It sobered me more than the cold water I poured on my face did. I felt to tipsy to drive back so I ordered an Uber back.
The house was dark when I got home. I stumbled in quietly, kicked off my sneakers, and walked barefoot toward the stairs. He was halfway up when I heard a noise behind me. I turned around and froze at the sight of the most beautiful thing I had ever laid my eyes on.
She stood at the edge of the hallway, moonlight painting her curves like sculpture. She had the kind of body that poets forgot how to describe. An hourglass figure with long legs and a small waist. She had hips that didn’t lie and a breast size that could make a man forget his name.
But it was her eyes that struck me. Green like the savannah forest. Her hair as dark as night and strand straight. And her lips soft, full, glossy pink like she'd just licked sugar off them.
She tilted her head, watching me with something between curiosity and amusement dancing in her eyes.
“You must be Mark,” she said.
Her voice was smooth and velvety.
“I’m… yeah,” I mumbled still drunk.
“I’m Liana ,” she said, stepping closer. “Your new... Stepmom.”
That word echoed in my head , but I barely processed it. His entire body was ringing with a sensation he’d never felt before.
Desire. Hot, full-body, uncontrollable desire. His pants tightened as my erection grew fast. For the first time in his life, his body wanted someone. No boredom, no disgust. Just pure lust.
I stepped toward her, like I was almost in a trance. I wasn’t thinking, I wasn’t even sure if I could think.
I reached out and brushed a hand against her cheek, expecting her to pull away but she didn’t. Just looked at me with curiosity and a bit of shock.
“You’re really pretty,” I said, my voice low and hoarse.
Her smile was a sweet, dangerous thing. “I get that a lot.”
I leaned in, just close enough to feel her breath. Close enough to hear her breath hitch.
And then I planted my lips on her's in a slow sensual kiss. It wasn’t awkward. It wasn’t forced in anyway.
It was like fireworks on my skin. It was warmth flooding my veins. It was everything perfect that I had never experienced compressed into this one single moment.
I kissed her harder, like a mad man. Like I been starving all my life and she was the feast I finally got.
She froze for a while and then kissed me back. Just once. Then, the world tilted as I lost consciousness.
The last thing in my head was a prayer that this encounter shouldn't be a dream.
