Chapter 76: Staked Odds.

Kia's POV.

"Alexia! Alexia can't you hear me," I called in slow voice. Following her closely. She was pretending not to hear me. I could not be mistaken about the scent. I had sensed it from afar. And when we locked eyes I couldn't be more sure about who it was.

"I said Alexia stop there," I thundered. My voice coming out a little bit too harsh.

Turning abruptly and clutching her veil even tighter, she narrowed her eyes at me, "Excuse me, do I know you?"

"Oh drop the weird accent and answer me." I rolled my eyes, sandwiching her between I and the bathroom wall.

"What is it Kia?," She sneered finally admitting thabshe was indeed Alexia.

"So it is indeed you" I mused, examining her features closely.

"What is it,?" She spat, "why did you follow me down here?"

"Because I am surprised? Surprised that you actually came here," I admitted. 

i could have bet a million bucks that Alexia would never set her foot here given the way she treated me back in the moonlight pack. And her now relationship with Garvin. Was he aware that she had come to see me? Was he here with her?

"Well maybe I just wanted to see how sick you allegedly were," she shrugged.

"Who told you I was sick" I blurted out, unable to believe that she had actually come all the way here because she was concerned about my health? Unbelievable.

"You don't need to know,"

"Is it Hunter?" I inquired. Hunter was possibly the only person who would go that far and who was capable of infiltrating into the moonlight pack.

it could be Elder Jay too. He seemed quite determined to change Alexia's mind.

"No-- no one told me," she stuttered, darting her eyes everywhere.

"Then how did you know?,' I pressed.

"I don't know... common sense?" She shit back, "You invited me didn't you?"

"I thought you wouldn't--

"Shut it already." She rolled her eyes, adjusting her veil.

"Someone would come here  any minute," I pointed out, as the echoes of footsteps sounded in the hallway.

Scared that she would slip away from me any second. I gropped her by the wrist. Pulling her out of the bathroom cubicle. 

"Wait let go of me then," she protested, yanking off her hand from my grip. " I will follow you on a civil manner."

"Fine then," I agreed, leading the way.

I tried my very best to keep a straight face as we walked down the pack of people who had attended the event. It seemed like every nook and cranny of my house was filled with people.

"Why did you bring me to your room," she complained, as I locked my door the minute we got into my room.

"Because it's the only place secure enough for us to talk. I believe you are curious and you need answers. Correct me if I am wrong tho,"  I explained, her facial expressions switching from furrowed eyebrows to a relaxed state.

"You seem quite chatty for someone who is rumoured to be critically sick?" She pointed out.

"It's not really that type of sickness." I mumbled, moving past her to take a seat on my bed.

"Then what type of sickness is it then?" I could not tell if it was just my eyes deceiving me, but Alexia moved to come sit beside me on the bed. I rubbed my eyes as she sat beside me. Stylishly pinching myself to make sure I wasn't in a dream. I've had dreams like this one numerous times.

"Well for some I haven't been able to get an erection for the longest of time"

"Too much information" she protested, snapping her fingers in my face 

"You literally asked for it so shut up and let me talk" I continued, a smirk dancing on my lips. I haven't seen this side of her before.

"So the Elders have been on my neck for the longest of time to provide an heir to the pack," I trailed off.

While I am not pressured to do so, but I  cannot also jeopardize the future of the pack so I accepted because everyone here,  felt or taught that something might have happened to you.  And because there  was little to no news about you in the course of three years so I accepted it and different women were brought here for something that seemed more like a trial and error session.

"And why you telling me all this?"

"I know you do not believe me but I'm just trying to be plain and transparent with you... I know during the time you spent here I was the worst ever kind of person to live with and I deeply apologize. 

You know right after you left right after I found out, Mrs Emily,  I don't know if you can remember her but the healer said you were expected my joy knew no bounds. that day and the day I found out that you were still alive I was overjoyed I thought maybe this was my chance to finally reunite with you and the child.

But given that your son.. your wonderfulz smart son Kian is only about 2 years of age,  I guess maybe mine didn't make it and believe when I say  I'm really sorry I know should have been there should have consoled you but I was too busy being a jackass and I totally understand your decision for running away,  I mean I would too if I was in such a tough  environment." I paused to look at her, I could swear that I saw tears glistening at the corner of her eyes.

" oh I have been talking for a long time,  forgive me you might want to leave now"

"Kia" she whispered moving close to me. 

I would be lying if I said I didn't feel so much heat that made me want to grab her right there and then.

we got standing in an awfully close proximity I know the instruction our eyes gazing into each other's souls communicating words unspoken a tattoo that my head and her lips collided

"What are you doing?" I asked, breaking the kiss. the thought of Garvin being somewhere in this party still lingered on my mind.

"Checking if I am truly the cure to your problems," she shrugged, before claiming my lips once more.

Every form of self restraint I had disappeared right there, as I slid my tongue into her mouth exploring every nook and cranny of her mouth.

The kiss was first slow and passionate evoking a fire that I didn't know lied,  within me but then it became one of urgency as we explored our  mouths with an urgency that could not be calculated.

My lips soon left her mouth and trailed kisses down her neck, evoking moans of pleasure from her.

Pausing to stare at her her face. Her eyes flew open the minute I paused my movements. Her Hazel eyes eluded more of a sea green color now. And with one glance I could tell that her wolf was very close to the surface.

"Alexia are you sure about--

"Just shut up and fuck me already."
