Chapter 206: No Turning Back
Now, Tyrell actually dared to go after Charles directly!
Watching Charles with his arm in a sling, still handling piles of documents in the study, pretending everything was fine just to keep her from worrying, Olivia felt both heartbroken and angry.
Angry at Tyrell's lawlessness, and angry at her own past weakness.
She couldn't let Tyrell lead her around by the nose anymore!
And she couldn't let the people she loved most get hurt because of her anymore!
Charles, John, Lily, and Bodhi too...
Everyone was fighting against that lunatic Tyrell for her sake, getting dragged into this mess.
When did she become someone who needed everyone's protection but only brought trouble to them all?
No! She wasn't!
That stubborn streak in her bones that refused to give up, that toughness that fought her way from a small town all the way to Harmony City.
In this moment, it completely exploded.
Tyrell wanted to destroy her?
Wanted to use these dirty tricks to force her to give in?
She wouldn't let him!
Not only would she not let him destroy her, she would stand up proudly and throw all his slander right back at him!
That evening, after Charles fell asleep, she sat alone on the living room sofa and called Lily.
"Lily, are you asleep?"
"Not yet, what's up, Olivia? Is Mr. Green's wound hurting again? Need to go to the hospital? I'll come with you?"
Lily's voice was full of concern.
"No."
Olivia's voice sounded unusually clear and firm in the quiet night.
"Lily, I've made up my mind. I can't keep hiding like this."
"I want to hold a press conference."
"No, just an open media interview. I want to clear up that plagiarism thing completely!"
On the other end, Lily froze for a moment, then her voice shot up.
"Are you crazy?! Those people online are just looking for new news right now!"
"If you come forward at this time, aren't you just walking into their trap? They'll definitely smear you to death!"
"Let them smear me! What's fake can't become real, but they can't make what's real into fake either! I have everything from concept to final draft—including all design sketches, revision records, and team discussion notes. The timeline is crystal clear!"
Olivia's tone became decisive.
"Before, I thought the innocent would clear themselves, didn't want to fight with mad dogs, but now I see that some people - if you don't hurt them, they think you're easy to bully!"
She paused, her voice carrying a do-or-die determination.
"Besides, doesn't Tyrell just want to see me ruined and crying to him for help?"
"I'm going to show him how I win this fight - standing tall!"
Lily was stunned by these words, silent for a long time, then suddenly took a sharp breath.
"Olivia! You're amazing! Alright!"
"I support you! What do you need me to do? Contact the media for you?"
"Or find... find some fair-minded netizens to help manage the comments?"
Olivia laughed at that, feeling warm inside.
"No need to manage comments."
"Just help me find a reliable, influential media platform, preferably live streaming."
"I want to make everything clear in front of everyone."
"No problem! Leave it to me!"
Lily promised, patting her chest.
After hanging up, Olivia called her studio assistant, Xiao Chen.
She worked through the night to organize all the original design materials for the "Autumn Wind" project and to scan backup copies.
After doing all this, she finally let out a long breath, feeling like the huge weight on her chest had been lifted a little.
The next day, she told Charles about her decision.
After hearing it, Charles frowned, his first reaction also being opposition.
"It's too risky. The public opinion environment is against you right now. If you come forward, you might face a lot of hostile questions."
Olivia held his uninjured hand, her eyes clear and determined.
"I know there's risk."
"But hiding carries even more risk. Tyrell is taking advantage of our many concerns to act so recklessly."
"I've figured it out - to deal with this kind of shameless person, you have to be tougher than them! I want to tell everyone, including him, that I'm not afraid of him!"
She looked at Charles, her tone softening with a hint of pleading.
"Charles, let me try once, okay?"
"I can't live under your protection forever. I want to protect you too, protect everything we care about."
"This time, I want to stand up for myself."
Charles looked at the light in her eyes—a light full of vitality and fighting spirit he hadn't seen in a long time.
He was silent for a moment, then gripped her hand tightly in return and finally nodded.
"Okay."
"If you want to do it, then do it."
"I'll be watching from behind you."
With Charles's support, Olivia felt even more confident.
Lily worked fast, contacting an online media outlet known for in-depth interviews and live streaming.
When they heard that "Olivia," currently at the center of the storm, wanted to come forward and clear things up herself.
They immediately showed great interest and quickly finalized the live stream time and format.
Over the next two days, Olivia barely slept.
Not because she was nervous, but because she was making the most thorough preparations.
She arranged all the design drafts in chronological order, clearly organizing every revision reason and specific record.
She even anticipated all possible questions that might be asked.
Including the trickiest and most hostile ones, she prepared honest and powerful responses for everything.
She didn't hire a PR team to write scripts. She wanted to use her own words to tell everyone the truth about what happened.
The day of the live stream finally arrived.
The venue was set in Olivia's studio.
The background showed the area where she and her team usually worked, filled with drawings and models that looked authentic and professional.
Olivia wore a sharp white suit, light makeup, and her hair simply tied back.
Looking at herself in the mirror - eyes bright, back straight - she took a deep breath.
Charles stood behind her, gently patting her shoulder.
"Don't be nervous, just pretend everyone watching is a plant."
Olivia laughed at that, turned around, and hugged him.
"Okay, I'm not nervous."
The live stream began.
The camera focused on Olivia. After a brief introduction by the host, they handed the floor to her.
Olivia looked at the camera, not intimidated, her eyes calm and sincere.
"Hello everyone, I'm Olivia."
"I'm sitting here today to completely clear up the 'plagiarism' controversy surrounding the 'Autumn Wind' project."
She got straight to the point, not a single wasted word.
Then she picked up her prepared tablet, connected it to the large screen, and began showing her design sketches one by one.
"This is the earliest concept sketch for the 'Autumn Wind' project, dated last August."
"This is the revised version after our first internal team discussion - notice the change in this line..."
"This is the third adjustment we made after the client gave their feedback..."
"This is the final electronic design drawing."
