Chapter 23

Aurora's POV

Chess comes in the next day and I sigh.

"That was a terrible idea," I mutter and he nods sitting next to me.

"He's not speaking to you too huh?"

"Nope."

"I thought it would be funny, I'm sorry."

"Nah its okay, Wes's just being a grump."

"Well, I came to let you know that your leg is almost healed. . . wanna try walking on it."

"Already?"

"Yea. I was surprised too don't worry."

"Well, I guess so." He nods and grabs my hand, pulling me up gently. It hurt a little as I got onto my feet but it wasn't as bad. I could walk a little.

Chess stands at the other side of the room and tells me to walk towards him without help.

"You remind me of my grandma." Chess snickers and I mock him.

As soon as I got near him, I slipped on air and he caught me.

"Falling for me are you?" He jokes and I roll my eyes giggle.

"Never in a lifetime. I'm all Wes's."

The door swings open and we both freeze as Wes enters the room. I realize our position, as Chess's hand hangs dangerously low and me clinging onto him.

"I thought you could walk Aurora." Wes folds his arm staring at me and boy was he pissed.

Chess carefully puts me onto my feet and I sigh.

"It is, Chess was just trying to help me walk."

"Walk? That looked a lot more than walking."

"I tripped Wes," I state getting frustrated and he rolls his eyes.

"Oh right. You just fell right into his arms."

"You know, I'm so freaking sorry that I pranked you. I let that be known, so get the hell over it and stop acting like a jerk."

"Get over it?!' He yells.

"I'm just gonna. . ."Chess awkwardly leaves and Wes glares at me.

"I don't know why you're making such a big deal out of this Wes."

"Aurora. I was crying and you were alive. I thought you were dead! What in the world is so funny about that!" He yells and I clench my jaw.

"I said sorry! I understand where you come from but I am sorry! I'm the one who almost died and I'm not even acting like-"

"I confessed my love for you Aurora!" He roars and I take a painful step back as I shut my mouth. "I had tears running down my face. And I told you that I love you. And what do you do? You play dead like a damn dog and laugh in my face after."

"It wasn't supposed to seen like that!" I yell after realizing and he rolls his eyes.

"I'm done with this." He mutters and I grab my hand.

"No! Stay and talk to me. I know how you feel. I understand Wes and I didn't mean to make it seem like I was laughing at you. I just thought it would be funny. I wasn't thinking. I'm sorry. Okay? I am so so so sorry." He stares and me before sighing.

"I'm sorry too. I-I didn't mean to be a jerk I guess my feelings just got hurt." I bite my lip, staring at the ground and he grabs my chin. "Hey, it's okay alright? We both made a mistake. You more than me but. . ."

He jokes and I roll my eyes once more.

"Let's just. . . move on from this." I nod and he pecks my lip. Over, and over and over.

I smile and grab his face giving him a real kiss. We move in sync as he continues to claim my lips as his. He sighs into the kiss as he pulls me tighter against him.

He leans his forehead against mine.

"Hello, beautiful."

"Hi, handsome."

Wait.

"Bring Thomas home!" I squeal remembering my sweet boy.

"Yes yes." He smiles kissing my lips once more.

"Let's get you back to bed."

"I don't want to," I whine.

"But you have to."

"Why?" I raise an eyebrow and he smirks.

"Because daddy said so."
