Chapter 17

Beeze's POV

It was finally Saturday and I am currently laying on the couch with Wes. He's been playing with my fingers absentmindedly and I think there's something on his mind.

"Is everything okay?" I ask.

"Yea, I'm just a little tired." I turn around to face him and he smiles softly at me.

"Are you sure?"

"Yes baby, I'm sure." He plants a kiss on my nose and I smile, standing and walking to the bathroom "Where are you going?" He calls out and I roll my eyes amused at his whiny tone.

I've got to say it was really something to sit on the toilet and watch New York City. It felt as if every time they looked up, they were staring at me.

I smile at a woman carrying her son into a toy shop. He was basically bubbling with joy.

Which led me to one thought.

I miss Thomas.

Frowning, I finish my business and wash my hands. Turning my head once more, I froze at what I saw.

Dressed in all black, a man stood staring directly at me. My eyes widen as he tilts his head and points at me.

"Wes!" I scream basically terrified and he runs in. "Someone. . . someone was staring at me."

"What? Aurora, no one can see through this glass.

"I'm telling you, Wes, they were staring at me," I repeat frantically and he nods walking over to me and kissing my forehead.

"I'll just notify security. Lock the doors." I walk with him towards the living room and he opens the door. As soon as he closes it the man I saw downstairs is suddenly revealed. He stood behind the door and tilts his head, just like he did when I was in the bathroom. About to scream, someone came up from behind me and put their hands against my mouth, muffling my scream.

"No!" I try exclaiming but just like the other ones, it's muffled. I try to elbow the person behind me but all I feel is pure foam.

Foam?

He pulls me out of the room and I wiggle trying to get out of his grasp. He grabs my waist and hoists me up.

"No! Stop!" I yell as he releases my mouth and they move quicker.

"Help! Somebody help me!" I scream at the top of my lungs as I kick, causing a vase to fall and break.

"Shut her up." The man from behind me says as I continue to scream and suddenly everything goes black as a heavy hand collided with my face.

"I don't freaking know where she is okay?! Someone took her and I need you to help me find out who!" I yell at Chess through the phone. I hang up and plop on the couch.

Head in hands, I can't imagine how terrified she must have felt.

I should have taken her with me. I should've just called up security.

So many things I could've done, but its too late now. She's gone.

A few minutes late a knock is heard and I run to the door. Chess steps in and I sigh.

"Dude. . . I am so sorry." He says and I nod.

"Did you trace the number for the call I got yesterday?"

"I couldn't, whoever called you wanted to make sure you couldn't call them back. Its blocked, untraceable, and recently disabled."

"Crap," I mutter rubbing my face and he sighs.

"Who would want to do this? I didn't even get to know her yet." He whines.

"You insulted her on the first day." I deadpan.

"Bro, she has you more whipped than that deadbeat Jennifer. I think I underestimated her."

I chuckle but it soon dims as I come to terms with what's really going on.

"She's gone." I murmur.

"We'll find her Wes."

"How in the world am I going to find her?! I have no leads, no nothing! And who would want to hurt a girl who's only job was at a res-"

"The restaurant! Her aunt!"

"I'm sorry what?" He says looking confused.

"She has a wicked aunt that owns a restaurant. I took Aurora away from her because she wasn't treating her right. We could question her aunt, you know, rough her up a bit."

"Wait wait wait, so this is. . . your fault?" He jokes and I punch him in the face.

"Hot damn!" He yells and I step around him and out of the house.

I'm gonna need back up for this.
