Chapter 17: Forceful Advance
Just the thought of facing Clinton and making out with him made Bethany feel uncomfortable.
But she couldn't avoid it.
For the sake of her mother, she had to find a way to deal with Clinton.
Bethany took a deep breath, mentally preparing herself before stepping inside, and casually locked the door behind her.
The spacious study was dimly lit by a small lamp. In the dim light, she saw Clinton, his clothes disheveled, lying on the sofa and looking completely drunk.
Bethany frowned. "How did you get this drunk so quickly after I left?"
"Don't mention it, those rascals saw you leave and took the opportunity to pour me drinks." Saying this, Clinton grabbed Bethany's wrist and pulled her into his arms.
The strong smell of alcohol hit Bethany, almost making her nauseous.
She instinctively tried to break free, but Clinton's strength was surprisingly strong, and he held her tightly and said, "My wife made me proud today. You know what? Those guys' eyes lit up when they saw you. Every one of them praised me for having such a beautiful and understanding fiancée like you!"
"You've had too much to drink. Let me get you some water to sober up..." Before Bethany could finish her sentence, Clinton flipped over and pinned her beneath him.
"You're better than water."
Clinton gazed at Bethany with an incredibly fervent look in his eyes, and any adult knew what that meant.
Trembling, Bethany pressed her hand against Clinton's chest, her throat dry as she spoke, "You need to explain about that secretary first."
"Explain what?"
Clinton looked puzzled, clearly feigning ignorance.
Bethany said, "She's hostile towards me. Why? Give me an explanation."
"Are you being too sensitive? How could a fresh graduate have any hostility towards you? Wait, are you suspecting me of having an affair with her?" Clinton's tone suddenly turned cold.
Bethany remained silent.
Clinton sighed and softened his tone, coaxing her. "I'll fire her, Okay? Will that satisfy you?"
"Would she be fired so easily?" Bethany doubted.
Clinton shrugged indifferently. "She's just a secretary, a nobody. After all, she upset you."
Bethany had a strong intuition that this matter wasn't so simple and there must be something fishy going on.
But for now, being at odds with Clinton wouldn't help. She had to find out the truth herself.
Seeing Bethany soften her attitude, Clinton smiled and said, "Alright, don't think too much about it. Don't let those unrelated people disturb our mood!"
With that said, he couldn't wait to lift Bethany's dress.
His hot palm touched Bethany's thigh, and he exclaimed excitedly as he touched her. "Baby, you're so tender and fragrant. You're such a stunner. You know what? I've been waiting for this day for so long!"
Despite his seduction, Bethany still couldn't muster any enthusiasm and continued to repel him as she always had.
She even, inexplicably, thought of that male doctor at this moment...
Every touch and every dirty word from Clinton made her feel nauseous. Vincent was much more vulgar than Clinton, yet could bring her pleasure.
Where exactly was the problem?
Bethany's body was tense. She firmly resisted Clinton's chest. "No, someone might come."
"That's what makes it exciting, isn't it?" Clinton ignored Bethany's resistance and forcefully spread her legs, leaning in for a kiss.
He wanted to take what he wanted by force.
