Chapter 107

Alonzo

It’s been more than four hours since I woke up, yet I was here. In Genevieve’s apartment.

The tiny cramped room which became too difficult for me to leave.

Thankfully Ria left early in the morning. Now it was just three of us.

Genevieve, me and our daughter. Our little family.

It feels like home. Having Genevieve around me. Stella’s laughter and sudden claps.

Couldn’t believe these are the same ears that sooth with gunshots now wanted to hear those innocent laughs.

I peeked through the small window, and Geneviev was cooking breakfast for us.

I grabbed my phone and texted Jasper to cancel all my schedules. Postpond All my important meetings for tomorrow.

I just want to stay with Genevieve and Stella today.

But I couldn’t just sit quietly. I had to use my every second to bring Genevieve closer.

I want her to crave for me. Make her believe that no man could love her the way I do. Make her fall for me so hard that even her dad tried to set up with any tom dick and harry. She won’t do that.

Her dad already made me lose my nerves. If she wouldn’t love her father this much, he would have been dead meat by now. And we would have married on the day of his funeral.

But again he’s her father.

If I wanted it would take me a minute to take her to the mansion. And now we have a daughter together, she would never dare to leave me, until she really wanted to lose her daughter.

But that would make her hate me. She still flinches when we have sex. It showed she still did not accept being mine.

And her attending those dates, means she was still preparing to marry someone recommended by her fucking dad.

Even though I claimed her and she was acting like a perfect family right now, there was still something more I wanted from her.

I wanted her to surrender me fully.

And the only way was, pulling strings closer. Harder. That every breath she breathes would be mine.

“Your breakfast..” She placed the plates and handed the bowl to Stella.

“Alright. Game time.”

I leaned back with a grin.

“Daddy..” Stella’s eyes widened. She seemed excited.

“Game? At this hour?” Genevieve stared at the watch. “Aren’t you leaving.”

I shook my head. She was trying to push me away. Interesting.

“Are you scared that you will lose before your daughter?” I was taunted.

“In your dreams..” She plopped right beside me. Her expressions clearly showed that she accepted the challenge.

“Rules are simple. I ask questions. If you fail to answer… you kiss me.”

Genevieve blinked. Slowly.

“What kind of game is that?” She narrowed her eyes. “Did you just invent it right now?”

I leaned closer. Too close.

“You’ve been lost in books your whole life. This game existed long before you.”

My voice dropped. “I’ve been playing it since childhood.”

That did it.

Her eyes narrowed. Suspicion.

A flicker of jealousy she didn’t even try to hide. The thought that I had been kissed before clearly bothered her.

Good.

“My first question is for Stella,” I said casually.

Both Stella and Genevieve leaned in like it was the Olympics.

“Which is the biggest ocean in the world?” I asked.

Stella didn’t even blink.

“Pacific Ocean!” she shouted like she won a trophy.

“That’s my princess.” I gave her a thumbs-up. “Correct answer.”

We high-fived.

Genevieve sighed in relief.

“Yes Daddy!” Stella jumped into my arms and hugged me tight.

Then I turned to Genevieve.

Her smile disappeared.

“Your question,” I said slowly.

“Which key cannot open any lock?”

Her eyes widened.

She froze.

She stared at me like I just betrayed humanity.

“That’s cheating,” she snapped. “You asked Stella an easy one.”

I laughed. Hard.

Exactly the reaction I wanted.

“Stella is three,” I teased. “What’s your excuse?”

I held out my palm.

“Admit defeat.”

She hesitated. Pride battled fear. She tried thinking. Nothing.

“Ask me something else,” she said quickly. “Human bones. Surgery differences. Anything medical.”

I raised a brow.

“Nope. Answer this one first.”

She glared at me then finally sighed.

“I don’t know.” She tapped my hand gently. “Tell me.”

“Donkey,” I said.

Silence.

Then laughter exploded.

She stared at me.

“You tricked me.”

I puckered my lips dramatically.

“A rule is a rule.”

“No.” She shook her head fast. “Stella is here.”

Before I could say anything Stella covered her eyes with both palms.

“My teacher said watching mommy and daddy kiss is bad manners,” she announced seriously.

I burst out laughing.

She was too cute. Too pure.

Genevieve leaned closer to me. Her cheeks flushed. She pouted her lips slightly. Still embarrassed. Still hesitating.

I pulled her gently into me. Her body fit against me like a puzzle. She pressed her eyes.

I leaned closer and pressed a soft kiss on her forehead.

No lust.

Just warmth

My hand settled at her waist. Not claiming. Just grounding. I felt her breath hitch. I felt her lean into me before she caught herself.

She opened her eyes and stared at me in disbelief. Perhaps thinking I would kiss her wildly.

Her hand slowly traced her forehead.

“I love you…” I whispered. Her cheeks flushed even more.

“Daddy,” Stella peeked through her fingers. “Are you done kissing mommy?”

Genevieve and I jumped apart instantly.

I cleared my throat.

“Yes princess. Game over.”

Genevieve smiled.

And for that moment… Everything felt perfect. I knew I was a step closer to making her mine forever.

But she didn’t know the fire in my heart. That was ready to burn the whole world. Including every man around her.

Even her father.
