Chapter 210: She Stir My Feelings
Chapter 210: She Stir My Feelings
Callan
As much as I wanted to go back inside the tattoo parlour and watch Jessica get tattooed, my mind was too loud for me to think straight. I sat in the car, swirling a glass of whisky in my hand. Trusting Kane to bring Emma unharmed was a gamble. He had thought he could control it but I had dealt with an asshole like him too many times. One good move and they thought they had won the game. That is when you are most valuable, that is when you are stupid, when you think you have won. He should have his eyes on her father, he was young. He would learn or die.
My phone buzzed with a text message, I could barely see the message through the blur of my eye but it was from Logan.
‘Where are you?’
I ignored his massage and set my head against the seat, looking up at the dark roof of the car
“Tim?” I called.
“Yes, boss?” The driver answered.
“Take me there.”
I sat down on the ground of the little park. It was tiny and at the very edge of our property, on the right were some swings. I used to love them when I was younger. The grass was slightly wet, it was soft under my hands and I dug my knife into the ground, sighing as I closed my eyes.
‘This is not safe.’ I could hear Miss Rivera saying.
‘Smart, Callan. You have to be smart.’
She had helped us get back to Morocco, she had helped us with many things and then just died. Kane was a fool if he thought he wouldn't die the most painful death possible for what he did to Miss Rivera and my Jessica.
It had been hours since I came here, there was no mistaking the soft body which sat down beside me, her sweet smell filling my senses. Who needed fucking drugs when I could have her?
“Callan?” She called and I turned around to look at her. She was blurred, I could see something shiny on her neck.
“I am drunk, Jessica. You should go to bed.”
“You don't want to sleep?” She asked.
“I can sleep here.” I replied. She looked around nervously at the woods, I wrapped an arm around her.
“There is no one in the woods who can hurt you as long as you are with me.” She sighed.
“I…how drunk are you.?”
“Tipsy, baby. I can't drink more than that when I have a pretty someone to take care of.” I kissed her cheek.
“What were you saying?” I asked.
__________
Jessica POV
“Nothing,” I replied.
“I just find it a little weird that we are sitting in a tiny park.” He hummed.
I looked into his eyes, they looked wild as if he was barely in control of his emotions. As if he was about to lose it, I could feel the anger rolling off him in waves, knowing he was close to snapping. Yet I forced myself to keep sitting there for some reason.
‘You know what happens.’ I could hear the sensible part of me saying. But he was not going to hurt me, that I was sure of. He rubbed his forehead.
“I…I used to play here with Logan, we used to run to the slide.” He pointed at a slide. It looked ages too old and like it would fall apart in a heartbeat.
“And pushed each other out of the way and Lucas…” he nodded his head towards the mansion.
“He used to watch us through the windows because he wasn't allowed to play with us.”
“Why?” I asked and he chuckled.
“Our parents were fucked up, they thoughy if Lucas got close to us, he would care and god forbid their golden child cared for his brothers.” He sighed.
“Our lives had always been fucked up.”
I stayed quiet for a while.
“You were never happy?” He frowned, looked down at the ground.
“I am sometimes.”
“Sometimes?” He hummed, looking down at me.
“Are you happy?” He asked me, my fingers brushed on the grass.
“Sometimes, yes.” I replied and I felt Logan sat on my other side.
“Are you two having a heart to heart chat?” He asked, Callan chuckled.
“Jessica stirs my feelings, Logan.”
A small smile came on my lips as I looked down at the ground. Logan wrapped an arm around me, kissing my forehead.
“We need to eat.” He said but no one moves.
“What makes you happy, Jessica?” Logan asked, his voice soft in the quiet night.
“History,” I replied.
“Art, poetry, Nova, Zara and my family.” I looked up in the sky, at the familiar moon.
“And you two, sometimes.” I added.
“Sometimes?” Logan muttered.
“So do we make you sad?”
“Sometimes,”
“Do we scare you?” Callan asked.
“I….not anymore.” He took my hand in his.
“You scare me.” He told me.
“You are so drunk, Callan.” I mumbled.
“Actually, you do.” He repeated.
“We can kill everything in the world, Jessica.”
“But we can't kill what we felt for you.” Logan added.
“You are so fucking powerful, you know that?”
Hearing those words from them, from the two most powerful men I had ever met was thrilling and it made me feel powerful.
“I know,” I whispered.
____________
Logan POV
“What?” I muttered.
“Yes,” I heard Sophie say from Callan’s phone which was on the table.
Callan was laying on a couch, his forearm over his eyes, growing because of his hangover. The cigar room was washed in golden darkness.
“There is no threat of that Thorne anymore, is it? So let her come here and celebrate the season with her family, I will organize everything.”
“Sophie.?” I called.
“You do realize that the Millers are gaining foot in Dubai, don't you?”
“I know,” she said.
Of course, she will know. The Rizzo couldn't keep shít from her.
“But they are headless chickens, their boss is with you and their boss’s son is working for you. I failed to see how they still pose that big of a threat.” She said and Callan sighed, sitting up.
“Your voice is so irritating.”
“Of course, it is irritating when I am saying something you don't want to hear.” She huffed.
“Let her celebrate with her family for the festival. You do realize you can't keep her locked up, right? She is not the kind of woman who would be fulfilled by that.”
“You don't know that.” Callan said.
“She may not be my blood but she is like me, Callan and I certainly know more than you.”
“Sure,” he rolled his eyes.
“You know fucking everything, tell Angelo to spank you more. You are not getting enough punishment.”
“I will kill you.” She grumbled.
“Fucking try me.” He leaned back in his swat, a small smirk came on his lips and she sighed.
“I hate you so much. Logan, you are the smart one, keeping someone physically close does not guarantee their love.”
“We will think about it, Sophie.”
“It should not even be your decision to make, you know?” She muttered.
