Chapter 48: Chapter 48

Davis POV

"Thanks." Elara murmured, avoiding my eyes.

Instead, I allowed my gaze to wash over Matt who held Elara's arms tightly under his underarms. He shifted his weight uncomfortably as I continued to gaze at him as though I wanted to tear him out.

"You've seen it?" Elara whispered, her cheeks instantly flaming up as she turned furious eyes to meet Matt.

"You didn't delete it?" She whispered frantically, her eyes filled in horror.

"I forgot." Matt crowed.

Yanking her hands away from Matt's, she skidded upstairs in haste. Minutes later, we heard her door slam shut.

"You didn't forget. You made sure I saw that." I gritted, my eyes glistening with restrained anger.

"Actually, I had to. Draw the lines you know? Soon, we'll be out of your hair, Pops. But before that happens, I might as well remind you she's still my wife." Matt muttered tersely.

Nodding, I turned away facing the lounge, my hands buried deep in my hair while my eyes twitched at the side. " You realize she's your wife, yet you fuck another?" I rasped out in between clenched teeth.

" She does not mind. What is it to you?" Matt returned.

Memories of how Elara writhed in pleasure as they fucked flashed and I shook. First from anger, but then in pleasure.

Anger because, why they did it, her life was in danger and she didn't even realize. By the time they found out, it was almost too late. Had Jake not shot at both cars, the result would have been dreadful.

I blinked as I watched in horror how close she was to losing her life, today, all because she was fucking this asshole.

"You gambled with her life." I murmured, my voice contained and calm.

"I do not understand what you mean." Matt voiced, starting for the stairs.

"Stop right there!" I roared, without turning around, but I could tell he heard the seriousness in my voice and stopped.

"I won't be ordered around, Pops." He hissed.

That was all the snap I needed. Turning on my heels with a speed of a lightening, I charged at him and caught him by the throat, pressing tightly until he started to choke, and his eyes teary.

"You wished you were the one who had fucked her instead." Matt managed to let out with a cold laugh as my hands tightened around his throat.

"If you put her in harm's way again, you'll be dead." I barked, giving him a murderous glare such that he winced in terror.

"She's my fucking wife!" Matt spat.

Somehow, those words spiked what was left of my anger as I lifted him tightly by the throat, and with a menace I harbored against him, I stealthily sidetrack and trapped him by the stair rails.

My lips curling in a sneer, I gritted, " And she's my daughter in-law."

At this time, Matt's eyes were starting to dilate, as he gripped my hands tightly, trying to free himself by scraping at it.

The noise seemed to have drawn attention, because the new house keeper, and Elara raced out of their rooms.

"Oh my God, what's happening, Davis?" Elara exclaimed, charging towards me so fast she almost sailed past the stairs, but I grappled her just in time before she broke her neck, thereby automatically releasing Matt, who slumped against the rails, thumping his chest while he let out a wracking cough.

"Motherfucker!" He growled.

Getting out of my arms, Elara turned to Matt in concern, "What the hell is going on, Matt?" She cried in exasperation.

Eyes threatening to explode, Matt's eyes bored into mine. "I believe my father would give anything to have himself buried in you. Could you believe it? He said, turning incredulous eyes at Elara. " The poor man beat me up for your honor!"

" I tell you. The next time, it will be more than beating. " I glowered darkly, disappearing into the curve that led back to the foyer.

As I passed, the Lena girl shrunk backward in fright as a soft gasp escaped her lips.

In no time, I was out again. It was barely day break but I couldn't bring myself to stay in the same house as Elara, because there was no telling what I'd do with the sort of emotions that gripped me.

"Where to, boss?" Jake pursed as I slid into my already parked car.

"I asked you to get some rest." I snapped.

"I knew you'd need my services before the bright of dawn." He murmured.

"Let's go to the guest house. I need to change." I ordered.

With a nod, Jake started the car, and sped out.

"Did you look into it" I rasped, barely minutes into our drive.

"Yeah. For now, all leads are stale. We tracked the vehicles that trailed them but they were unregistered. As for the driver, he got away before we made out who he was. The truck was stolen."

"And Vanessa?" I inquired.

"Her alibi's tight. She was a key stripper at the elite club tonight." Jake answered.

Swallowing tightly, I looked outside my windows to see that it was snowing. Light traces of snow pelted down my window, and all I could think about was being buried in Elara's pussy.

"Damn!" I growled, raking my hand into my hair in tension.

"You know the widow is always willing to help you calm some of those nerves." Jake finally blurted after passing glares at me in-between the mirror.

"Oh, shut up!" I rasped.

"I could pull a stop over at the Dip n' Shadow. Mrs Anne wouldn't mind." He continued, his face straight.

"I took her to her home." I released.

"I could drive you there now, then." Jake offered.

"For God's sake, Man, head to the guest house." I snapped.

"If you say so..." Jake slurred, and I could only fire him a glare.
