Chapter 31. Fate at work

Kitara found herself in a moment of distraction as she gazed upon the strikingly handsome man before her. Her thoughts raced as she reminded herself to stay focused on her mission, despite the allure of his stunning appearance. However, she couldn't help but question why she was drawn to him, and why he seemed to be looking at her in such a way.

As she tried to gather her thoughts, Kitara couldn't help but ponder the potential risks of falling in love with the son of a murderer. Despite her reservations, she couldn't deny the magnetic attraction she felt towards him. She found herself lost in his piercing pale blue eyes, wondering if he could be her mate.

This was a new experience for Kitara, as she had never before been drawn to a male in this way. She tried to push these thoughts aside and focus on her mission, but found herself struggling to resist the pull of his gaze. As she continued to grapple with her conflicting emotions, Kitara knew that she would have to tread carefully if she wanted to protect both herself and her heart.

The realization that Ralph could potentially be her mate caught her off guard. It wasn't supposed to happen, and it could potentially jeopardize her mission. Why should she be fated to be with the son of the man who murdered her mother? Was fate playing some cruel game with her? The very thought infuriated her, and she cursed under her breath. "Fuck fate," she muttered.

Meanwhile, Ralph was lost in thought as well. He had always detested women, finding everything about them to be irritating. Perhaps it was due to the fact that he never received his mother's love and was only raised by the court ladies in his father's palace, whom he considered to be his mother figures. Mykel, his father, had always sought a way to fix this flaw in his son and had occasionally arranged blind dates for him with prominent ladies in the kingdom.

Despite her anger at the potential of being Ralph's mate, she couldn't deny that he had a certain charm about him. She had observed him from a distance and noticed that he had a kind heart, and his interactions with his father showed that he had a deep sense of loyalty. It was almost as if fate was trying to force them together, and she didn't know how to reconcile that with her mission.

Ralph, on the other hand, had begun to question his own beliefs. He found himself inexplicably drawn to the mysterious woman who seemed to have a deep sadness about her. He couldn't help but wonder what had happened to her that had made her so closed off to the world. He realized that perhaps his aversion to women had been misguided all along, and that he had been missing out on something truly special.

As he continued to move closer to kitara, they both knew that something would have to give. Their individual missions were at odds with one another, and yet they couldn't deny the attraction that was building between them. They both wondered if fate was playing a role in their relationship and what the ultimate outcome would be. Only time would tell.

He hated woman maybe it was to the fact that he never grew up with his mother's love but only besides the court ladies in his father palace who he knew to be his mother's. Mykel has always search for a way to fix that flaw of his son and has tried occasionally to fix a blind date for him and other prominent ladies in his kingdom.

Daughters of merchants, district heads, his chiefs and that of his advisors but none did works out and then he decided to step up the game. He starts organizing beauty contest for ladies both in his kingdom and outside his kingdom with the hope that they will be able to captivate the heart of his one only won but yeah as always he seemed unfazed with the ladies beauty. He knew he has to do something to stop his father effort, although he appreciates it and then he decided to move to another kingdom.

That way his father will have no idea about his doings but surely he will try to plant a bug on him and as soon as he got to the other kingdom he rotted out the bug and made the bug to give false report. and of course with some tipping the bug accepted his offer.

As he stood before a girl he barely knew, one who may have been his father's concubine and possibly spent the night with him, the odds were against any attraction. Yet, he found himself drawn to her in a strange and unfamiliar way, experiencing these feelings for the very first time. Despite the facts that would usually deter him, something about her captivated him, leaving him to ponder what it could all mean.

"Will you help me with getting her up and stop staring at her" Mykel said calling both of them back to reality.

Ralph walks sluggishly towards his father and bowed down beside him, "how may I be of help?" He asked his father.

"Well, try help get her up. Give some support" his father replied and together they helped Kitara up.

And they both left the room, "father who is she?" Ralph asked.

"What do you mean by that, you saw her in my other room and yet you are asking that question" Mykel replied with a wicked smirk on his face.

"Well not that you have slept with her, or have you?" Ralph asked curiously.

"Not yet my son" Mykel said with a wide smile like that of the devil revealing his white well set of teeth.

"That is good" Ralph replied to his father.

"What do you mean by that?" Mykel asked.

"Well I want her for myself" Ralph said leaving his father dumbfounded.
